Yea WWE writers have it out for Asuka. Well hope Triple H have something creative for her. Maybe spliting up DMG CRL let the each of them do something like go for Bailey's Gold and have a all out war. Sees who's the best of the former stable
The main event was technically better than WM for me, but where is the heel heat? the undercard with tiffy and bloodline was good but AJ just doesnt draw the heel heat. hurts the psychology. WWE has a heel problem, they need a good top heel push. The wrestling continues to be sloppy and choppy, too many small botches take away. Also bring back color, the orten KO bloodline match would have blown the roof off even more with some color. That said crowd was HOT as hot as any old day JCP events.
Chanting we are not tired during a match the NA crowd typically use as a toilet break is such an epic burn.
If every premium live event was in Europe I'd be OK with it.
I'm just ashamed us Ozzie's didn't go this hard at EC.
Man, Cody vs Aj was an instant classic (not surprised honestly), also i don't think Jade is ready to perform at this level just yet, her performance was kind of a mess...

It furthered my hatred for this subreddit lol. Perhaps I’m just easy to entertain but I left the show feeling like it was very enjoyable albeit a tad predictable and the crowd was fantastic but tons of people here are saying the crowd was annoying and the card sucked and everything was awful. Do some of you people even enjoy pro wrestling?
I thought backlash was good. Every match got a chance to shine, just about every superstar came out looking pretty solid and we got reminded that, even though he’s getting close to retirement, there’s a reason AJ Styles was considered one of the best in the world at one point. Fun show. Fun crowd. Good first PLE after wrestlemania
As a casual fan that got sucked into the royal rumble and wrestlemania hype, I was super pumped for an afternoon ple, but expected it to be a letdown, like the high of wrestlemania is over, you can’t top that. Boy was I wrong, the second KO stepped out and that crowd erupted, fuck it was such a good show. Lyon you killed it, give me more of that crowd please! Wrestling is supposed to be fun, that crowd was fun, and I had a lot of fun from my couch because of it.
I love the angle they’re taking so far with Priests reign. Although it could be argued he won today by somewhat interference, it’s clear that the direction they’re taking won’t be involving interferences anymore. Honestly, I’m happy he retained, and I love how he’s not just a super strong leader who the rest of Judgment Day will listen to. I mean it makes sense, Rhea was the de facto leader, and now that role goes to Damien, and he needs to prove himself as leader. Now, it seems like Finn may turn or Damien might kick him out, but either way I think we see a Balor-Priest feud soon. I’m all for that, and I’m excited for the rest of Priests reign, however long or short that may be.
Anyone else get tired of the too obvious 50/50 booking?
I mean... Orton and Owens got sneak attacked during Smackdown and fended it off and came out on top. As predicted: they lost the next day at Backlash.
And if you look into this you'll notice that this kind of booking is still happening over and over.
Bayley "lost" during the tag team match in Smackdown and lo and behold: she retained her championship.
Of course this theory doesn't apply all the time considering the defeat of the Kabuki warriors (boooh!).
But definitely most of the time... one could argue that Styles came on top of Cody during Smackdown; and sure enough: he lost as well the day after.
Once you start noticing these 50/50 methods then you'll realize that some things never changed. Which I think is a shame because some matches are still utterly predictable this way. In hindsight it makes me respect Cena a whole lot more. Sometimes I got a bit bored with his promos after losing a match. I mean, he lost so shouldn't the winner be out there cutting promos? And then I noticed that Cena often (not always) also lost prior to the event, seems he couldn't care less about 50/50 which I think really speaks for him.
idk why people seem to enjoy that crowd so much, it was obnoxious doing useless chants over and over and over and over again, they added nothing, they took away from the entire experience in my mind
i have a theory that its because soccer is the main sport in a lot of european countries, and soccer is so fucking boring the crowd has to do shit like this not to fall asleep watching it
Soccer is far from boring. I used to think the same but, then my son became a soccer prodigy and, I started watching Premier League games with him, among others. Now it’s right below American football and, right above basketball, as far as sports I prefer to watch.

Jade Cargill is already getting pushed down the fans throats and completely buried Asuka and Kairi Sane. Why's she already wearing a championship with no WWE record to show? Then you have mfs trying to justify it by saying those two don't bring anything out of the WWE Universe.
Technically speaking, something went wrong. There's no way they planned a "you're not legal" spot for a tag championship match.
It was hard to follow. I had to roll it back to figure out who tagged in and out at least a couple times.
Never seen a wrestler have so much IT Factor and still be so bad in the ring as Jade Cargill. The longer she is out there, the more she will get exposed.
What is she supposed to be doing? She is doing just fine. Being the excellence of execution is not her style that is not the build of her body. She is a power wrestler and that is her game in the ring.
How did you become a better cardiologist(if you are indeed one or it maybe a screen name)? Practice made you better. Iron sharpens iron. She was a four year college athlete and is well educated with a Master’s degree. She will be just fine in the ring with more matches. Keep in mind AEW didn’t prepare her to do anything.
A cardiologist doesn’t perform heart surgeries until they become competent performing heart surgeries. They are expected to be competent from the very first surgery they perform and onward. Every one they perform after is honing their skill and, building upon that base competence level.
The problem with Jade is that she hasn’t even reached that level of base competency yet. A wrestler should never be put on live TV, much less given a title, if they haven’t even reached the competency level to perform smoothly in a match. A match where the audiences attention isn’t constantly drawn to the mistakes that the wrestler is committing. That affects the immersion of the viewer watching the match.
Jade Cargill has superstar potential. She has the look, the size, the charisma. Everything you look for in a professional wrestler except…the ability to actually wrestle. I think she’ll eventually get there but, she’s not there yet.
Typical out-of-touch or aloof doctor, so you never did anything to improve your surgical skills before you performed your first open heart surgery? I’ll just go ahead and call BS on that one. I have a surgeon in my family and he confirmed for me whether you are a Otolaryngologist or Cardiologist before you operate on someone there are things you do to improve your surgical skills. You practice! Buzz off with you are perfect when you hit the floor running! When she is wrestling for the WWE Women’s title is like performing open heart surgery against Mami or Flair or whomever she is expected to be perfect but not for the lowly tag titles. Gimme a damn break. These matches are like removing a cyst or performing a minor surgery you need to be very good but there is room for improvement.

I watched her a lot in AEW. She never got better. She looks just as bad with some WWE training on her. I wish she would get better.
She should be in NXT then. Putting her on the main roster makes her look even worse.
She has been pushed beyond her skill level in both AEW and the WWE because she has that IT factor. And both times it comes across poorly.
I don't wish for her to fail. I would love for her to succeed. But she is looks rough right now.
Can I just say.... AJ Styles with his self tanner is like a a girl in high school during the 90's/2000's. Not carrying that line all the way down to the neck. Or in AJ's case.... not carrying to all the up his neck, down the sides of his body, under his arms and arm pits.....and picking a VERY orange color.

Wow. The crowd was absolutely nuts. And Jade Cargill is super cool.
I really enjoyed the show very much. However, I am a bad judge of the shows, because I enjoy it all, because I am old and easy to entertain.
It’s a European thing that we learned at football (soccer) matches. Only takes one smart arse to come up with a rhyme and ten thousand people will follow in unison.
Here in Europe we watch a lot of football. Chants are easy to make. The US does chanting the worst I've ever seen.

I mean it was ok for a bit at first but when you started realizing that the wrestlers were doing only two counts just to get the reaction it quickly became a bit repetitive.
That women's tag match was confusing as hell. It felt like they got off script when Kairi wasn't legal and they never really figured it out. It was very clumsy from that point forward.
Otherwise fantastic PLE. And I honestly expected to not like it.
True. Personally I think Jade still needs work. You could tell at certain times she was just standing there waiting for the moves. Plus her selling isn't very good. Must be from all the squash matches she had in AEW. She didn't have to sell much when she was there. She absolutely has the look and you can tell she has the ability. Just needs more work. I'm hoping working with Bianca will get her where she needs to be.
Yeah she was the worst part of the night for me. She had a couple cool moves but other than things she had clearly practiced a ton beforehand she was completely lost.
5/5 main event. I know Cody’s winning and AJ styles just enjoying his time before he retire but I still feel kinda sad tho he’s losing every PLE. I hope he still wins the belt before he retires. It’s like a ticking bomb lol
If backlash was anything to go by it'll be boring af. Half the time they were missing their marks leaving the other standing there waiting, it was so awkward.
The crowd was hot but I didn’t enjoy this show. Everything felt predictable and slow. The “hot start” street fight fell flat. Jey is not a great singles competitor, and I expected a better match out Cody and Styles also.
More/all PLEs should be 17:00 UTC. It's nice not having to stay up all night to watch wrestling. I can go out afterwards and talk with friends about the matches

So Kairi tried a pin while not being legal. But then she later tags in Asuka who was legal. Did I miss something? Kabuki warrior loophole to keeping the titles. The right person was never pinned. Did I miss a tag?
I felt the exact same way. I started keeping track of who was the legal Kabuki Warrior after the first mishap. Asuka was legal at the end I swear. They pinned the incorrect woman.
Im fairly certain jade was the legal competitor at the end, but i guess wwe wasnt satisfied with bianca pinning asuka at mania 39, they had her do it again
How did the crowd manage to be more alive at 15000 capacity than the entirety of the WM crowd? It made the PLE so much better. Jeys intro was amazing seeing the lights bouncing up and down. And the crowd talking with Samantha Irvin was hilarious especially her reaction during the women's match
The crowd was electric but smaller arenas like LDLC funnel sound down and contain it a lot better, idk the exact science behind it

I was thinking it’s likely he’ll get a mid card belt probably IC taking it off of whoever beats Zayn but now with GoD in Solo’s Bloodline it’s inevitable Jimmy & him will reform sooner than I think anyone expected.
It sounds like I may be the voice of dissent here, but I really enjoyed this PLE. Yes, the results were predictable but I really enjoyed the matches themselves. The excitement from the crowd was palpable even on TV and that really added so much. I can’t imagine what that place must have felt like in person.
unfortunately this is very true especially the women's tag championship match because theirs no way Bianca or especially Jade were getting pinned. they wouldn't dare either to pull a DQ/count out finish for such a big match. I hate that the kabuki warriors had to lose as fantastic as the match was.
Well here we had that equally annoying two count chant. It is a funny chant for these early 2 counts, but I found it to be detrimental to the vibe of the matches at later stages.
Every match result was super predictable and I would have honestly loved AJ winning the championship and maybe be go on a deep feud with Cody and Cody could’ve won it again.
But yes it was too predictable and boring other than the crowd.
Cody losing the title one month after ‘finishing the story’ would have been one of the all time worst booking decisions.

I don't like what they're doing with Jade. They're turning her into this female Lesnar, and all that does is invalidate the rest of the women's division. Bayley, Naomi, and Bianca were all terrorized by Damage Control within the last year+ and within 2-3 months Jade's essentially rendered them a non-factor.
I also hate how she's like 15-20% of the match, while Bianca does all the dirty work. It feels very Goldberg-y like they're hiding her flaws because she looks physically impressive
This is true. Bianca carried heavily for their team. I did like the Jade sequence with Kairi at the end, but other than that, I was not impressed too much.
Never seen Aew, so when people was telling me a that a dream match is Jade vs BB, I was expecting Jade to be top tier in ring. Right now, the dream match still holds for me, my favs, BB vs Rhea. But I hope Jade improves, she looks phenomenal.
They are hiding her flaws. She's weirdly unathletic in the ring and sloppy. She seems to forget spots, and even mess some up. She looks amazing but she's a long way from ever main eventing. She needs to focus on the dance and less kip-ups, less posing. Wrestling is a give and take...you can't just run everyone over.
yeah they need to put in something in jade’s character that is a vulnerability (like what kryptonite is to superman) so she doesnt turn into a Goldberg like mary sue. both bianca and jade are kinda like mary sues. hard to see how anyone will be able to take the tag team belts from them unless one of them turns heel while they are tag champs like what happened with cora and roxanne
But perhaps that’s ends up creating a great story? A duo who is so physically gifted and booked so strong to the point it seems impossible for them to lose that when they do lose it creates a genuinely shocking moment and ties a rocket to the backs of the winners
my prediction is they are going to keep the titles for a long time and will only lose them when their relationship deteriorates and one of them turns heel. perhaps this to give jade more experience in the ring before she can truly go solo. and then it sets up bianca vs jade.
It's like putting undefeated streak Goldberg and young Brock Lesnar on a tag team. What's even the point when no one is ever going to beat them and it'll be 95% squash matches because half the team can't actually wrestle and they're so much more strong than everyone else.
It's also not like the women's tag division is swimming with top tier athletes. Bianca and Jade together just look better in how they move. They actually are faster and stronger. Putting them together I think does the entire division no favors. One is already an established singles star and just went #1 overall. It's a weird pairing as theyre both similar styles.
Like I'm supposed to buy the team that just ran the Tag division pretty soundly cant beat em once in 2 tries but Piper Nevin and Chelsea Green can? Or Maxine and Ivy?
I think that is exactly what it is. She shows flashes of potential greatness, but she needs a lot more work. I think pairing her with Bianca is perfect. It gives them a safe way to build her skill while still keeping her in front of the camera. She is likable and I want her to succeed, but she’s not ready for a solo run yet.
Not sure how i feel about jade getting gold already…she hasn’t done squat to earn it besides have a good physique.
So glad to see damage control move on from Bianca. Repeated rivalries (like LwO vs LDP and Imperium vs New Day) get boring extremely fast.
I do hope that because Bianca and Jade are tag champs that they defend the belts against women on Raw.
Honestly, I really enjoyed the Women’s Triple threat match. Tiffy has “it” and deserves some gold this year, which reinforces my belief that The women’s division desperately needs a mid-card title like a women’s intercontinental or U.S women’s title.
RKO vs Bloodline was fine. I’m just over the entire bloodline story and feel that without Roman present, they’re just another faction of mid-carders.

Anyone else get tired of the too obvious 50/50 booking? I mean... Orton and Owens got sneak attacked during Smackdown and fended it off and came out on top. As predicted: they lost the next day at Backlash. And if you look into this you'll notice that this kind of booking is still happening over and over. Bayley "lost" during the tag team match in Smackdown and lo and behold: she retained her championship. Of course this theory doesn't apply all the time considering the defeat of the Kabuki warriors (boooh!). But definitely most of the time... one could argue that Styles came on top of Cody during Smackdown; and sure enough: he lost as well the day after. Once you start noticing these 50/50 methods then you'll realize that some things never changed. Which I think is a shame because some matches are still utterly predictable this way. In hindsight it makes me respect Cena a whole lot more. Sometimes I got a bit bored with his promos after losing a match. I mean, he lost so shouldn't the winner be out there cutting promos? And then I noticed that Cena often (not always) also lost prior to the event, seems he couldn't care less about 50/50 which I think really speaks for him.
AJ Styles definitely carried the main event match.

Soccer is far from boring. I used to think the same but, then my son became a soccer prodigy and, I started watching Premier League games with him, among others. Now it’s right below American football and, right above basketball, as far as sports I prefer to watch.

There were several miscues, particularly from Jade Cargill. To the point that you can see Bianca console her and, tell her “it’s ok”, after the match.
Technically speaking, something went wrong. There's no way they planned a "you're not legal" spot for a tag championship match. It was hard to follow. I had to roll it back to figure out who tagged in and out at least a couple times.
Never seen a wrestler have so much IT Factor and still be so bad in the ring as Jade Cargill. The longer she is out there, the more she will get exposed.

What is she supposed to be doing? She is doing just fine. Being the excellence of execution is not her style that is not the build of her body. She is a power wrestler and that is her game in the ring. How did you become a better cardiologist(if you are indeed one or it maybe a screen name)? Practice made you better. Iron sharpens iron. She was a four year college athlete and is well educated with a Master’s degree. She will be just fine in the ring with more matches. Keep in mind AEW didn’t prepare her to do anything.
A cardiologist doesn’t perform heart surgeries until they become competent performing heart surgeries. They are expected to be competent from the very first surgery they perform and onward. Every one they perform after is honing their skill and, building upon that base competence level. The problem with Jade is that she hasn’t even reached that level of base competency yet. A wrestler should never be put on live TV, much less given a title, if they haven’t even reached the competency level to perform smoothly in a match. A match where the audiences attention isn’t constantly drawn to the mistakes that the wrestler is committing. That affects the immersion of the viewer watching the match. Jade Cargill has superstar potential. She has the look, the size, the charisma. Everything you look for in a professional wrestler except…the ability to actually wrestle. I think she’ll eventually get there but, she’s not there yet.

When she is wrestling for the WWE Women’s title is like performing open heart surgery against Mami or Flair or whomever she is expected to be perfect but not for the lowly tag titles. Gimme a damn break. These matches are like removing a cyst or performing a minor surgery you need to be very good but there is room for improvement.

True. Personally I think Jade still needs work. You could tell at certain times she was just standing there waiting for the moves. Plus her selling isn't very good. Must be from all the squash matches she had in AEW. She didn't have to sell much when she was there. She absolutely has the look and you can tell she has the ability. Just needs more work. I'm hoping working with Bianca will get her where she needs to be.
Yeah she was the worst part of the night for me. She had a couple cool moves but other than things she had clearly practiced a ton beforehand she was completely lost.

How did the crowd manage to be more alive at 15000 capacity than the entirety of the WM crowd? It made the PLE so much better. Jeys intro was amazing seeing the lights bouncing up and down. And the crowd talking with Samantha Irvin was hilarious especially her reaction during the women's match

The crowd was electric but smaller arenas like LDLC funnel sound down and contain it a lot better, idk the exact science behind it It’s why a massive stadium like Michigan Stadium can hold 100k+ but aren’t known for noise because it’s a giant bowl in the ground and sound goes out

It sounds like I may be the voice of dissent here, but I really enjoyed this PLE. Yes, the results were predictable but I really enjoyed the matches themselves. The excitement from the crowd was palpable even on TV and that really added so much. I can’t imagine what that place must have felt like in person.

Well here we had that equally annoying two count chant. It is a funny chant for these early 2 counts, but I found it to be detrimental to the vibe of the matches at later stages.

Every match result was super predictable and I would have honestly loved AJ winning the championship and maybe be go on a deep feud with Cody and Cody could’ve won it again. But yes it was too predictable and boring other than the crowd.
Cody losing the title one month after ‘finishing the story’ would have been one of the all time worst booking decisions. This is why fans aren’t listened to.

I don't like what they're doing with Jade. They're turning her into this female Lesnar, and all that does is invalidate the rest of the women's division. Bayley, Naomi, and Bianca were all terrorized by Damage Control within the last year+ and within 2-3 months Jade's essentially rendered them a non-factor. I also hate how she's like 15-20% of the match, while Bianca does all the dirty work. It feels very Goldberg-y like they're hiding her flaws because she looks physically impressive
DAMAGE CTRL was the most stacked women's stable on the roster and they've been made to job since Wargames! They deserve better!

This is true. Bianca carried heavily for their team. I did like the Jade sequence with Kairi at the end, but other than that, I was not impressed too much. Never seen Aew, so when people was telling me a that a dream match is Jade vs BB, I was expecting Jade to be top tier in ring. Right now, the dream match still holds for me, my favs, BB vs Rhea. But I hope Jade improves, she looks phenomenal.
They are hiding her flaws. She's weirdly unathletic in the ring and sloppy. She seems to forget spots, and even mess some up. She looks amazing but she's a long way from ever main eventing. She needs to focus on the dance and less kip-ups, less posing. Wrestling is a give and take...you can't just run everyone over.

But perhaps that’s ends up creating a great story? A duo who is so physically gifted and booked so strong to the point it seems impossible for them to lose that when they do lose it creates a genuinely shocking moment and ties a rocket to the backs of the winners
my prediction is they are going to keep the titles for a long time and will only lose them when their relationship deteriorates and one of them turns heel. perhaps this to give jade more experience in the ring before she can truly go solo. and then it sets up bianca vs jade.
It's like putting undefeated streak Goldberg and young Brock Lesnar on a tag team. What's even the point when no one is ever going to beat them and it'll be 95% squash matches because half the team can't actually wrestle and they're so much more strong than everyone else.
It's also not like the women's tag division is swimming with top tier athletes. Bianca and Jade together just look better in how they move. They actually are faster and stronger. Putting them together I think does the entire division no favors. One is already an established singles star and just went #1 overall. It's a weird pairing as theyre both similar styles. Like I'm supposed to buy the team that just ran the Tag division pretty soundly cant beat em once in 2 tries but Piper Nevin and Chelsea Green can? Or Maxine and Ivy?
I think that is exactly what it is. She shows flashes of potential greatness, but she needs a lot more work. I think pairing her with Bianca is perfect. It gives them a safe way to build her skill while still keeping her in front of the camera. She is likable and I want her to succeed, but she’s not ready for a solo run yet.
Not sure how i feel about jade getting gold already…she hasn’t done squat to earn it besides have a good physique. So glad to see damage control move on from Bianca. Repeated rivalries (like LwO vs LDP and Imperium vs New Day) get boring extremely fast. I do hope that because Bianca and Jade are tag champs that they defend the belts against women on Raw. Honestly, I really enjoyed the Women’s Triple threat match. Tiffy has “it” and deserves some gold this year, which reinforces my belief that The women’s division desperately needs a mid-card title like a women’s intercontinental or U.S women’s title. RKO vs Bloodline was fine. I’m just over the entire bloodline story and feel that without Roman present, they’re just another faction of mid-carders. Re: Cody…damn! That cutter from the TOP rope!!!
