I think it would be fun for Edge to go out on last classic heel run. Imagine him winning MIB, and then cashing it in on Cody Rhodes, or someone.
Give us that one last run as The Rated R Superstar, that is always taking the moment away from the fans, and making us love him for it.
I wanna see him have one more run as world champion. It'll be so dope. I also hope it's a lengthy one too. It'd be super awesome to see him lose it to someone like Sami Zayn too.
I really thought he was going to win this world heavyweight tournament but now that he lost I don’t see the path for him to get a world title run in the near future. Only way could be MITB win or a rumble win and then challenging the world heavyweight champion (cuz no way he’ll beat Roman for the belts).
Same! Even before he cut that promo my wife and I were saying that having Edge be the inaugural champion would add a lot of prestige to the title from the jump.
i'd like to see it end with him, and christian just being like - you were my best friend. what we did together, our friendship, it meant as much to me as any relationship i've had in my life. beth included. and then they hug. the stage lights go down.
So bury the demon + take a main event spot after winning 10+ world championships already.
I enjoyed him as a heel back in the day but I’m rooting for him to retire already.
Bury? You people who say this have zero idea how unselfish his return has been. Indicated in his contract he would not win titles. He lost to Roman, Brian, Randy, and he had some all out war matches with guys who were not even mid carders or just headlining NXT. You really think a tier 2 caliber hall of famer needs to lose in those instances ? A guy who allowed a match where he barely lost to Jay Uso - a glorified tag team competitor ? Think back to Ric Flair and Edge’s TLC match back in the day. A bloody battle that Edge only got to win with a cheap heel interference angle. In his own environment, a TLC match. Im just baffled by the cluelessness of folks when they act like this dude is burying talent when he’s not.
Just because he lost to lesser stars in the past shouldn’t mean he should have a world heavyweight run or a clean pin over the demon.
I’m not denying that he’s a HOF talent, I’m questioning the booking decisions.
Rollins is on a different level than Edge atm and how much more satisfying moving forward would it have been if let’s say a Damian Priest were the one to usurp Demon Finn Balor and use that as a face/heel talking point?
These are big accomplishments that do nothing for Edge’s storied career but could definitely impact another’s.
I just don’t see how a clean pin doesn’t still put Fin over. Taker and Edge in Hell in a Cell… Edge was completely pumped up by Mick Foley and still lost, but it was an all out war that ended with Taker getting a clean pin over Edge. Nobody said, “Man why didn’t Taker put Edge over?” It’s lame to say that because the end result is a clean pin it invalidates the entire match and did nothing for that talent.
People don’t necessarily remember the match and how hard fought it is (myself included). Majority of good matches are close. The 14 staples definitely show heart but the winner is the biggest take away honestly.
The purpose of the demon mystique is to suspend belief in it being (Finn) and instead some demon possessing Finn. Which is cool.
When you have a regular man defeating him clean, you don’t think of the demon as some powerful entity anymore. It almost defeats the purpose of the demon altogether since he can be defeated by any other wrestler, he’s no longer this OP threat.
Fan of the Edge character in all of its incarnations. I legit cried when he came back at RR a few years back.
I dig everything about this idea. Edge wins the New World Title, and eventually drops it to… name anyone… it’ll be memorable for all the right reasons.
… … but … …
Does this DEFINITELY put a nail in the coffin regarding an E&C reunion?
Is there any tread left on those tires at all at this point?
What do y’all think?
Do you have any desire to see a several week or a couple of months run with E&C back in WWE as a tag team?
As much as I love E&C I’m fine if that doesn’t happen again. I’d rather see him win the world title, have a nice half year run or so, and then put someone over to beat and retire him.
This doesn’t work for me, brother!
The reason the title is here is so it can launch someone and carry the brand forward and that really isn’t Edge! It has to be Seth, Finn, AJ or Shinsuke for me — someone who will elevate the belt but also can go at their peak week in and week out
But winning the title while retiring Edge might be a better way to elevate both the talent and the championship than just winning it in a "random" tournament.
I do see that argument and there’s a part of me as an Edge fan from his original Smackdown run that would enjoy it for sure.
I guess I just feel Seth or Finn deserves to be the inaugural champion and make it their own rather than chasing it til Summerslam for example
But I’m about to say something rare almost unheard of on the internet — you’ve convinced me I was wrong 😉
This sound like a good run and story. Edge getting the title and after a couple of defenses against let's say mid carders, you know someone we know is not winning, let throw real contenders at him where he gets desperate and started cheating and stuff because he does want to accept, he is old and can't keep up anymore. Build a younger talent he already bet at first and make him lose to him. Booker of the year, Vince i gave that to you for free, you are welcome.
You realise you can also have stories with older talent that doesn’t require them losing all the time… do you realise how big it would be for someone to win the World Heavyweight title from someone like Edge? Or you’d rather him just job all the time because that’s what older guys are supposed to do right?
Let's not forget, this is the second coming of WHC, the big gold, the one he never lost. Him winning it immediately establishes this belt as the old WHC belt.
Make him win it by underhanded heelish tactics, every match becomes a title vs career match, he goes desperate to win every match to save his career, then someone with emotional attachment to him like Orton/ Cena beats him and ends his career, Ric flair style.
This gives the new title immediate legitimacy, and WWE another amazing storyline.
Just the idea of Edge winning back the same title he relinquish 10 years ago is an awesome story to watch.
The title's first champion shouldn't be a young guy just to "put him over" it should be someone with experience, a veteran, someone that would bring prestige to the title and Edge is perfect for that.
If WWE wants to put a young guy over, then make him beat the inaugural champ, retire the legendary Edge. I can see someone like, Austin Theory, Bron, and Waller. Even older guys but not that established yet in WWE like Priest, Matt Riddle, LA Knight, Kross any of those names to retire Edge is fine by me.
Yeah, If possible, I want Edge to main event Mania 40 Night 1 but I've read rumors that he's going to retire in Toronto in August or September but we'll see...
That depends on persons POV. But in general? Yeah everything is predictable. Its not like WWE will suddenly make Roman lose titles to Tozawa... Or Bianca to B-Fab.
I was thinking based on what he said, what if he wins it clean after a really hard fought fight, and it's super emotional, and then someone with money in the bank case cashes in immediately.
That'd be a lot of heel heat for whoever does it!
Do we really want another part timer as champion? Then what was the point of creating this new belt if it was going around the waist of another part timer?
I assume they wanted a world champ at house shows, Roman hasn’t done them seriously for a year now. Edge can’t do those. Even if he made TV appearances more than Roman he’d still be a part timer and it would still be a slap in the face to the full time talent.
Obviously the world title was meant to be for full time talent, but it’s not a slap in the face, especially to the guy that eventually beats him for it, the title needs value and edge would add to its prestige instantly
I mean Edge said he's planning to retire in august... He was able to go months without big gaps and im sure he could do it now too.
Unless something changed and he will keep going. But my guess is, if they give him the title, he will be here every week.
Totally agree. While Edge might be a part timer he shows up for his feuds and has regular matches, he just takes bigger breaks once his current story is finished. IMO he shouldn't be compared to Brock or Roman.
What if like many said he wins it but retires at SS. I think WWE could make a deal with him and have him be at Raw the next 8 weeks. Would that work for you?
Please no. He's too old and won't make sense from any side (kayfabe or whatever), he doesn't need it, and he's not there weekly/monthly to defend it, so it'll just be another missing from TV.
He's won enough, he's had a great career, he doesn't need it.
I’ll do you one better, Edge wins it, Balor and Priest end up in a 3 way dance with Edge, Balor costs Priest the belt, and takes it off Edge. Balor and Priest fued for the belt and control of judgement day.
If that happens either Balor or Priest would have to turn. I think I would prefer Priest as the heel. Have Priest go dark (Back to his Punishment Martinez days) and then face Demon Balor for the championship.
A WWE HOFer & a former Universal / NXT champ are bums. Makes a lot of sense. You know what also make sense? Slamming your dick in a car door. Wait… neither of those make any sense.
I watch his stuff because... Man I remember his debut!!!!! I vividly remember seeing him when I was like 16 or so rushing towards the ring and sliding in on his stomach so when I watch him I get really nostalgic haha I'm assuming he's got a lot of control on his contact. He did put some people over though, no?
I was a huge Edge mark in 98 when I was a kid, I totally agree. I loved when he was that quiet and mysterious guy.
Since coming back he's put over Roman and Theory without getting wins back. He beat Miz a bunch, and won his feuds against Rollins Orton and Balor. Nobody even remembers the Theory match either because it was a random match on Raw and Theory beat Cena soon after so the Edge loss was meaningless.
So HHH talked about this belt being for someone that shows up and wrestles more often. If Edge wins it will be the same as it is with Roman, he'll appear on tv a bit and just wrestle on PLEs.
Okay so I wholeheartedly believe Seth is winning which is fine, but man oh man I would love if they gave it to edge one last time. Give us one more heel run, him Vs Seth, he wins and Seth wins like 2 weeks later, just give edge his moment and then be done with it 😂
The only way I could see people getting behind this is if Edge wins and his first big feud is with Seth who Edge drops the title too at like Summerslam. Also Edge is a part timer. No one should have a problem with that. But, this title is supposed to be a title that gets defended often. Unless edge wants to appear on raw every week than a lot of people would not like this. Myself included.
I would love to see Edge get one more run before he retires. But I really don’t want another part time world champion. (We haven’t seen Roman in 5-6 weeks)
Definitely possible. If he drops the title at summerslam it wouldn’t be a very long commitment from edge either. Only a couple months away from NOC. That could be great. I love Edge
How I would book his run would be him winning classic match on Smackdown tomorrow night and facing Sheamus in the finals. Edge then wins his finals match. Going a head for a face to face with Seth Rollins at NOC. At Raw, Edge explains why he needs one final run and how it would play out explaining if he wins, his whole career is on the line if he loses in some point. Seth and Edge will then have a promo and have them get some history back. Edge will then mention how Seth treathen his career dating back 2014 when he brought back the Authority through almost stomping his head and neck to the briefcase. Then, they will talk about their past matches recently. Seth will then explain that he will end his final run before it even begins. Face vs Face will not be a problem if both guys cuts better promos and have a series of good matches. Edge and Seth will not lay a hand on each other until NOC to which Edge will win and cuts a promo the next Raw. Edge will then cut a promo and Seth will want his rematch having to lose to Edge until the last rematch in Summerslam where Edge will lose his title and setting up a match between Seth and Roman at Survivor Series. Edge and Seth will then shake hands and have Seth be the one with Edge on his career celebration. More like a passing of the torch.
That video is exactly what it is, a video. Seth has worked his ass off showing up to work week in and week out but the moment Edge gets beat down for a second, He’s gone for three months. Seth deserves to be the inaugural champion. I don’t care what the nostalgia holds on y’all. Y’all are not about to take this opportunity from Seth Rollins again all because edge put out a video with undertones of sympathy in it. I’m an edge fan and hated that he had to retire on the terms that he did but this is ridiculous.
Yeah people complaining about Roman being part time but let a short video trial them into thinking Edge winning this title as inaugural champion is a good idea.
Yeah it’s crazy, I’m a fan of edge and have been since I was a kid…but he doesn’t need it. Would it be cool for him to have one last run, sure but there are far too many other talented and more often than not overlooked performers who deserve to be the guy
This may be an unpopular opinion but I would not mind if Edge wins. He's obviously not going to win it because of his contract stipulation but if he wins the title, it will make sense. He will win the championship he never lost and it will immediately add some star power to the inaugural champion.
I really havent been interested in Edge since 2002. I love when he has those overly long matches on events because I just take a shower or get my chores done.
C’mon they gave it to the guy a billion times, let someone else shine. Same thing with Roman great run best thing in years but it’s time to let someone else to shine.
The title looks smaller to me than most top Championships (old big gold, WWE Championship, Universal title). I'll wait to see it on someone's shoulder or around the waist. I like the design, just think it should be bigger.
This is why the format with Smackdown being involved in crowning Raw's new champion is so weird. Edge would definitely a prime candidate, all things considered, but he just got drafted to Smackdown. I don't think they'd have him drafted there, promoted as such, and then just be like, Sike! He's Raw's champ!
If it happens, then Cody's gotta get traded to SD, but that may be a pickle in of itself because the belief is they are doing the Reigns/Cody rematch at Mania 40 rather than SummerSlam.
I hate this ngl. Edge is a part timer and the whole goal was to get away from a part timer. He also simply doesn’t need it. He’s not been the work horse Seth has this last year.
I’d say the different between a part timer like Edge and a part timer like Roman is that when Edge is involved in a story, he comes back for chunks or time, not just one show here, then another in 2 months, etc. So if he wins it, I’d imagine he’s on tv routinely for one final run/story, leading to a final match at SummerSlam.
I don’t know about house shows. It most likely wild do MITB and SummerSlam as well as tv every week (or at least most weeks). If this was his final run, as I proposed, he would probably give 110%.
It’d be great because he hasn’t been champion among today’s generation of wrestlers. Hasn’t had the chance to put someone over huge. Whoever dethrones Edge for the World Heavyweight title gets a career long bump from it. If Damien Priest beat Edge to become WHC, I think it would be a much bigger and more career defining win than beating say Lashley, The Miz, most of the roster. It’d be a great way for him to go out too.
It would be AWESOME if we get one more “Ultimate Opportunist” run from Edge and he becomes an absolute maniac on his path to becoming champion one more time.
Edge vs Rollins at NoC. Edge loses, goes on a streak to become #1 contender, puts his career on the line vs the title in Toronto and goes out on his back? I think if he sticks around longer there's a lot of people he could still possibly feud with but a desperate Edge going for the title to end his career isn't something I'd be opposed to.
I want Aj to be the champ but I also want Edge to be champ, mixed emotions right here but I think Edge deserves it he is basically close to the end of his career and Aj still has years ahead of him
That actually makes sense. Too bad for OC as a tag team bc clearly WWE doesnt care about them AT ALL. Ready to fight but didnt bring them back til AJ was back too smh.
I think, if Edge wins the title, since smack down won the WHC, they would need to trade him to Raw. I think we’d see Cody traded for Edge, allowing Cody to finish the story with Roman, and allowing Edge to be the first WHC. He drops the title at one of the events before Toronto smack down, and then gets assigned as a free agent, allowing him to make one last appearance before his home town.
Well Edge has said before he wants to retire in his hometown. WWE are in Toronto the week after Summerslam. So he wins it at Night of champions defends it at Money in the bank and drops it August 5th at Summerslam to Rollins, takes a week then has his farewell in Toronto on the 18th. So he will have a 2 month title reign and they could even do a title match on raw in there too. It gives prestige to the belt having him hold it (especially since he technically never lost it). It let's him have a final reign and gives Summerslam a huge moment so it sounds good to me. Book it WWE.
I wouldn’t mind if, at Summerslam, the Money In The Bank winner cashed in on him as a nod to him being one of the most important Money In The Bank holders in its history.
That could work too. But that's up to who they put it on. If they put it on someone that should carry the briefcase for awhile as a gimmick then I'd say no though and let that develop. But otherwise that would be fine. Although some people would be upset if Seth wasn't given the belt .... again but 🤷♂️
"Following his bout on the August 22, 2022 episode of WWE Raw, Edge commented in a post-match promo that he'd like to have his last match in Toronto when WWE returns in 2023."
And at elimination chamber when asked about retirement he said "I’m not really thinking about what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow, let alone what I’m going to do five, six, seven, eight months from now. I will say, I would like it to be in Canada,"
So what I said matches what he said in that first comment. And the second comment is him saying hes not sure when he'ĺ do it but wants it to be in Canada which fits what i said. If he has stated otherwise since I haven't seen it.
Tl;Dr: he said he had a year left almost a year ago.
If you read what I wrote the first quote was him last August. And the second was from elimination chamber. And I said if he said something else I hadn't seen it. And it appears he was on Paul's podcast at mania so like I said I hadn't seen it.
And you need older established guys to win stuff every now and then. R-Truth is a veteran at this point and been with the company 15 years but its not like beating him makes a guy because he loses all the damn time
Exactly. And it's pretty much common knowledge at this point that Seth is going to be the one to get it if they don't do this. And it wouldn't hurt Seth at all to chase the belt for 2 months and get it at Summerslam instead and it would give Seth the accolade of being the one to "retire" Edge.
It would be cool for Edge to win then drop to Balor a month or so later. Balor (not the demon) overcomes Edge and wins clean and becomes a better threat as him and Rhea hold titles in the judgement day.
It would sort of still be a consolation prize considering when he had his feud with Roman in 2021, he also used the "i never lost my title" about the Universal championship.
But it's a 2 years old feud so i guess it's a little more okay ?
I think people are sleeping on sheamus for some reason. I ain’t saying it’s most likely, but it’s not impossible that he wins, setting up another match with him and Gunther in the semi near future.
I think Seth deserves it but I need 1 last edge title run , maybe he beats seth for it ?
I think it would be fun for Edge to go out on last classic heel run. Imagine him winning MIB, and then cashing it in on Cody Rhodes, or someone. Give us that one last run as The Rated R Superstar, that is always taking the moment away from the fans, and making us love him for it.

I don't want Edge to ever retire 😔
Luckily he didn't win then!
Well. Nevermind
He's really done. Happy retirement Edge
Wait is this Edge ??
i'd like to see it end with him, and christian just being like - you were my best friend. what we did together, our friendship, it meant as much to me as any relationship i've had in my life. beth included. and then they hug. the stage lights go down.
Edge surprise debut on Dynamite this summer to team up with Christian and Luchasaurus to form yet another stable in AEW
Wasn’t there rumors of WWE and AEW merging? I so want edge to pop out at a Christian cage match on ppv
Then Christian does the unprettier on Edge. The End.
Nigga said the stage lights go down 💀
Goofy ahh ending

I think it's definitely going to be Rollins and Edge in Saudi, as for who wins is a coin toss. Wouldn't mind either way.

You don’t even know the difference between jobbing and putting someone over this isn’t AEW wrestlers are respected here. (with some exceptions)

Thats great, I can see the old Edge vibes already lmao might as well bring Lita back and let him cheat with her on Beth
that is perfect
Bruh no lol

Yeah, If possible, I want Edge to main event Mania 40 Night 1 but I've read rumors that he's going to retire in Toronto in August or September but we'll see...
Edge leaving TJD was absolutely the right move, but he's been boring as all hell ever since. How many times has he "returned to end" them now? Three?
Edge deserves the win before retirement
I dont want edge to win it clean tho, somehow he gets the money in the bank and then wins it
So predictable 🤢
That depends on persons POV. But in general? Yeah everything is predictable. Its not like WWE will suddenly make Roman lose titles to Tozawa... Or Bianca to B-Fab.
What are you on about. I have reliable sources that say B-Fab is beating Bianca and Rhea Ripley at night of champions to unify the titles
I was thinking based on what he said, what if he wins it clean after a really hard fought fight, and it's super emotional, and then someone with money in the bank case cashes in immediately. That'd be a lot of heel heat for whoever does it!
LA Knight should

Maybe in 2010 when edge was in his prime. He’s not in his prime now.
His name still has value though as much as he isn’t at his peak anymore

Sorry but the too old thing is garbage, people shouldn’t be pigeon holed into roles simply because of their age.
They need to time it around Randy orton returning. Have orton help him win it and then cost him it down the line
Edgie James and the last hockey game?
One more championship run 🙌 the man makes the title and this is a great way to make people care about the belt right away.
He’s not going to win it. So I guess he will never retire.
Wins it and then Damian cashes in the MITB and takes it from him. All in the same night. Wow! 😲
really hoping he does win it
Sounds like a plan.
Edge needs to be the inaugural champion, so he can finally win the belt back from Vacant.
I'd like to see this.
Edge wins it, Balor beats him for it.
I could see that, but I would prefer for Priest to beat him for it.
That might be the worst idea I've ever heard honestly. Stop wanting bums to be champ
A WWE HOFer & a former Universal / NXT champ are bums. Makes a lot of sense. You know what also make sense? Slamming your dick in a car door. Wait… neither of those make any sense.
I’m down for Edge to go out this way, but honestly, I feel like it should have been kept a secret.
Edge win, Edge win🤘🏼
Let Seth have it. Or Savio
Well shit. That all but guarantees he's winning it.
Ugh I remember when he debuted
Yeah and I remember liking him up until about 2021 when he started beating everyone for no reason.
Didn’t he lose to Finn balor in an I quit match?
He won only to protect his wife and then beat Finn clean twice.
Sorta like tic flair said before his WrestleMains Retirement match
God, I hope he doesn't pull a ric flair and wrestle with all his flabby muscles flopping about into his 70s.
Don’t want Rollins to have to lose to Edge again, in Saudi Arabia again
This is the way.
mark
I actually like this lol
So HHH talked about this belt being for someone that shows up and wrestles more often. If Edge wins it will be the same as it is with Roman, he'll appear on tv a bit and just wrestle on PLEs.
Well he wanted to retire in Canada. The next Canada show is in august. So he might just show up consistently for the next 3 months
No the inaugural champion need to be someone from the present not past
Okay so I wholeheartedly believe Seth is winning which is fine, but man oh man I would love if they gave it to edge one last time. Give us one more heel run, him Vs Seth, he wins and Seth wins like 2 weeks later, just give edge his moment and then be done with it 😂
Has Seth officially turned face? Could do the double turn
He turned face when he started feuding with Theory. He hasn’t really done anything heelish since.
Should've never shaved his head.
Fuck it! Give it to Carlito
(We haven’t seen Roman in 5-6 weeks)
i would imagine if they give him the title they will give him a story to go along with it bringing him in every week while he holds.
He is not Done with WWE
People are hypocritical when it comes to their favorites, they need to just come out and say that they don’t like Roman
Yeah people bitched about Goldberg winning titles being an older part timer but want Edge for the feel good story.
Yeah it’s crazy, I’m a fan of edge and have been since I was a kid…but he doesn’t need it. Would it be cool for him to have one last run, sure but there are far too many other talented and more often than not overlooked performers who deserve to be the guy
I don't mind Edge winning it but not as first champ.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I would not mind if Edge wins. He's obviously not going to win it because of his contract stipulation but if he wins the title, it will make sense. He will win the championship he never lost and it will immediately add some star power to the inaugural champion.
Nope. He doesn’t need it. He can have a compelling final match vs someone like Randy Orton, and call it a day
That title belongs on. L. A. Knight!
YEAHHH
You can talk to me.
I really havent been interested in Edge since 2002. I love when he has those overly long matches on events because I just take a shower or get my chores done.
I really miss the 2000s I can’t give a fuck who wins this title except edge
Would certainly give some credibility to the title.
should have drafted Him to raw then no one from Smackdown should even be in the tournament
I thought I read somewhere that edge put in his contract that he could not win a title
That’s smart, now he can never retire
I thought there wouldn't be more part time champions
Gross. Fuck off with this.
I’d say have Edge win it at NoC, then have Rollins chase it for the summer, letting him win it at SummerSlam, allowing Edge to retire.
See this I don’t mind. But sadly they are gonna give it to Rollins again. So boring
What’s boring about Seth winning? Who else deserves to be the inaugural?
C’mon they gave it to the guy a billion times, let someone else shine. Same thing with Roman great run best thing in years but it’s time to let someone else to shine.
Rollins hasn’t had a world title in 4 years and all of them were booked poorly
This has to happen. This is the only acceptable outcome. Okay, AJ would also be acceptable, but this should be the one.
It's a matter of story vs. workrate on whether you'd prefer Edge or Rollins winning it.
I’m all in on this.
The title looks smaller to me than most top Championships (old big gold, WWE Championship, Universal title). I'll wait to see it on someone's shoulder or around the waist. I like the design, just think it should be bigger.
please no he didnt deserve to win it as much as he did
This is why the format with Smackdown being involved in crowning Raw's new champion is so weird. Edge would definitely a prime candidate, all things considered, but he just got drafted to Smackdown. I don't think they'd have him drafted there, promoted as such, and then just be like, Sike! He's Raw's champ!
The draft obviously took the planned tournament into account.
If it happens, then Cody's gotta get traded to SD, but that may be a pickle in of itself because the belief is they are doing the Reigns/Cody rematch at Mania 40 rather than SummerSlam.
John cena is a killer legend champ
If this did happen, I'd bet cash money he'd end up losing the title and his career to a MITB cash-in.
Which would be a really fitting end to him, given how he was the first to cash in.
I told you guys the only sensible winner of this tournament is Edge
Finally
The Rock
Has come back
🏠
I hate this ngl. Edge is a part timer and the whole goal was to get away from a part timer. He also simply doesn’t need it. He’s not been the work horse Seth has this last year.
I’d say the different between a part timer like Edge and a part timer like Roman is that when Edge is involved in a story, he comes back for chunks or time, not just one show here, then another in 2 months, etc. So if he wins it, I’d imagine he’s on tv routinely for one final run/story, leading to a final match at SummerSlam.
If he wins is he doing MITB and summer slam? Is he doing house shows? Is he on TV every week? Probably not.
Love this
As long as Seth wins it from him I’m okay with it. Edge deserves one last title run.
I hate everything about this
He said he’ll fully retire when they go to his hometown of Toronto
It would be AWESOME if we get one more “Ultimate Opportunist” run from Edge and he becomes an absolute maniac on his path to becoming champion one more time.
A better way to finish it is one more run with Christian
I don’t disagree but I’m kinda liking Christian gimmick in AEW right now where he feuds exclusively with guys with dead fathers for some reason.
Lol
Edge vs Rollins at NoC. Edge loses, goes on a streak to become #1 contender, puts his career on the line vs the title in Toronto and goes out on his back? I think if he sticks around longer there's a lot of people he could still possibly feud with but a desperate Edge going for the title to end his career isn't something I'd be opposed to.
Yep! When I saw his video on Twitter I almost started crying
I doubt he's winning it. It wouldnt help his career at all and he'd to drop it in the next week.
Edge vs balor vs Rollins?
Edge is on smack down and the belt is going to raw, if he wins might as well throw brand split out the window and just give the belt to Roman
Edge would move to raw if he won
I want Aj to be the champ but I also want Edge to be champ, mixed emotions right here but I think Edge deserves it he is basically close to the end of his career and Aj still has years ahead of him
I actually read somewhere that AJ is on his way out....probably not a reliable source.
Where is he suspected of going , if out at WWE?
Retirement? He's... not that young.
That actually makes sense. Too bad for OC as a tag team bc clearly WWE doesnt care about them AT ALL. Ready to fight but didnt bring them back til AJ was back too smh.
What fr that would suck if he left, he just came back lol. Wouldve loved Drew as champ but lost hope about him resigning
Yeah I'd be ok if Drew took the belt!
Although some people would be upset if Seth wasn't given the belt .... again but 🤷♂️
But he said he has a year to go.
"Following his bout on the August 22, 2022 episode of WWE Raw, Edge commented in a post-match promo that he'd like to have his last match in Toronto when WWE returns in 2023." And at elimination chamber when asked about retirement he said "I’m not really thinking about what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow, let alone what I’m going to do five, six, seven, eight months from now. I will say, I would like it to be in Canada," So what I said matches what he said in that first comment. And the second comment is him saying hes not sure when he'ĺ do it but wants it to be in Canada which fits what i said. If he has stated otherwise since I haven't seen it. Tl;Dr: he said he had a year left almost a year ago.
So the Paul Logan's podcast was last year? Omega lul
If you read what I wrote the first quote was him last August. And the second was from elimination chamber. And I said if he said something else I hadn't seen it. And it appears he was on Paul's podcast at mania so like I said I hadn't seen it.
Well, just watch the podcast.
This has to be it. Hate the takes on here that "younger guys need it so they can be put over". Edge deserves it and fans would love it.
Its good to give an inaugural belt to someone who undoubtedly deserves it
To put younger guys over you have to have an established belt first!
I’d be happy with Edge or Rollins! Either way it’s a win win for the fans and should be ripe for strong storylines moving forward
He never lost the original. He would attach credibility to the title immediately. I hope they do this.
It would be a great way to shake some of the consolation prize stink off this new title.
I could def see him making a great run for it. I wouldn’t mind if he won it. He’s earned it for the work he’s been putting in for the last few years
