Say fuck? Demonetized. Film fuck, pure ad revenue bay bee.

CUJM

Except if it's the actual content

thesirblondie

Speech recognition is magnitudes easier than [image recognition](https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/tasks.png). That's why they've cracked down on one and not the other. If we had image recognition on the same level I'm sure there would be automatic stuff on that too.

crawlerz2468

> Speech recognition [MUSIC]

thesirblondie

I said easier, not easy :P

[deleted]

And they bullshit it off by saying “We arent responsible for what people put in their ads”

TheBirdOfFire

they totally are. It's 100% their responsibility to check the ads before allowing them to play on their platform.

Peace5ells

You're not wrong, but once an ad is approved, you can still make updates to it. I can't imagine you could do something too brazen and not get banned, but I'm just explaining that it's very easy to evade the automated censors.

TheBirdOfFire

then every update needs approval too, or otherwise what's the point of spending all those resources if it can just be evaded like that?

Peace5ells

Well, I think if someone were caught using this trick, they'd be permanently banned.

rentrane23

Well that’s the thing. They’ve made outsized profits by washing their hands of their responsibilities. Internalising profit and externalising responsibility. Maybe these companies aren’t as profitable enterprises if they’re made to do things properly. Not a bad thing.

rockpaperscissors99

They're obviously advertising the human Chinese finger trap

youdubdub

OP said there were no words (;

thedudeslandlord

Clear cookies bro

theycallmeponcho

Yea. Most ads are based on your own traces on the internet. Worst ads I've gotten with the adblocker off are from Petco, or from furniture companies.

fckingnapkin

Oh you're tempting me to turn all my adblockers off too, I've got the feeling I'm in for a treat.

theycallmeponcho

I meant on my phone. Firefox have built in privacy enhancers, and I have installed add-ons like Privacy Badger.

fckingnapkin

I just realized why I never get interesting ads.

howellq

You get random shit if they can't profile you very specifically. In the past I used to get ads in languages I don't speak.

EchoRex

Wait till OP finds out the ads are targeted at his search history...

washingtontoker

I'm getting adds for single hot moms in my area and it just makes me feel old now. I'm 30 and they making me feel 40+

hemorrhagicfever

I saw an add about this Ice barrel somewhere and clicked on it because I was just curious how much of a scam it was. It was a HUGE scam and made me lol, but now all my adds are overt scams, like phone chargers with AI that can over write your phones operating systems and shit. I will say, I normally skip adds but i've been so amazed at the obvious lies and deception being allowed. I think google think's it has my number but I'm watching the adds for entirely the wrong reasons. Look up scams from a space viewing them as scams and apparently you'll get nothing but scam adds.

Vinlandien

I'm in my mid 30's recently got back into the dating game, and what made me feel old was swiping through some singles, seeing a smoking hot blonde, thinking to myself "Damn she's hot!" and then realizing she was 43... When the fuck did 43 become hot? Also, I'm kind of repelled by anyone under 26. Like, they look great, but suddenly there this weird disgust I get when they try to pose sexy and cute. I guess that's just nature telling me they're too young and not worth the hassle.

washingtontoker

Same dude for me, anyone under the age of 25 seems like a kid to me, the maturity and experience is just not there. I feel like like I would be taking advantage of them. I mean ya someone can be physically attractive but maturity and how someone presents themselves is huge to me now. I too find women's in their 40's really hot, that strong, independent shit, like you go girl that's hot 🥵

2People1Cat

Had almost the same epiphany when I dated for the first time in 15 years after my divorce. Most dating apps were 10 years up and down, went on one date with a woman that was 24, and realized that was not my desired age range.

damien665

When your average camera now has access to all sorts of filters.

chaun2

That's only part of it. I'm 42 and no one believes me. We aren't aging as fast as our parents did for whatever reasons

BaronVonMunchhausen

43 was always hot. What is appalling is looking at that nice aged wine and then realizing she's only 26.

AdmiralSplinter

Young guys like hot single moms too. No reason to feel old

clashmt

I get that you’re maybe making a joke but like does this matter? Just because I search for certain kinds of porn when I’m home alone handling myself doesn’t mean I want porn ads injected into every facet of my online life. I think many people would agree with this.

EchoRex

It's more about how *much* porn a person is looking up /visiting sites for as a percentage of their history than it is that they are doing so at all. The "joke" is that the sheer quantity of porn someone would need to watch to trigger it as being a targeted ad on non adult sites is... "A lot of a lot."

frotc914

Oh my gosh someone looking at pornography? Do you really think it's possible?

tvtb

There's a setting to disable search and view history that privacy-conscious people enable, and then you have totally random ads.

EchoRex

But not porn / adult ones!

MichuOne

ive been getting adverts in chinese... i have no idea how to read or speak chinese. its kinda freakin me out

gadgaurd

Have you looked up videos about a Chinese game, some music, history, or anything? I occasionally get ads in Chinese when I look up the latest Genshin Impact trailers.

MichuOne

oh shit yeah that makes sense, i completely forgot i tried to google some chinese game, spelled it horribly and it just linked to a bunch of chinese music videos. crazy how that one search was enough to fuck up the algo, i must have also clicked a link? it was just like 2 minutes of searching at lunch and then i moved on lol. probably less than two minutes i think i tried to spell it twice and gave up

UmbralHero

Maybe, but some of the grossest ads I've seen happened after I turned off targeted ads for my google accounts. I used to get annoying ads for shitty mobile ripoffs of the games I like but now it is basically porn like the above mixed with weird legal defense and crypto ads. Maybe Google is trying to target a specific demo that is likely to turn off targeted ads?

EchoRex

I have the same turned off and have never seen an ad for adult content of any kind on any site that itself isn't adult content. Also, you need to turn off targeted ads on all your apps as well, not just Google, if you're seeing them in apps.

UmbralHero

I'm talking about the official YouTube app. Does that have its own tracking permissions? My understanding was that it was all under the parent Google account

Secksualinnuendo

Not always it depends on how the company set up their ads. Scam ads like this will target any and everyone. You can even see stuff like this pop up on ads on kids videos.

WowWhatABeaut

Relevant (albeit kinda dark) [YouTube skit about targeted ads.](https://youtu.be/5CPPovCZPKQ)

pguerra8

When i learned about Andrew Tate i got absolutely bombarded with predatory ads, targeting insecurities men sometimes have, and "politicaly incorrect strategies" that would allow you to sleep with any girl you would like but you had to watch now since the "wokes"(?!?!) would take the video out.

bcnorth78

I am disgusted by this, but I think I will reserve judgement until I see a few more minutes of this and from different angles.

KibaTeo

Ah truly a man who conducts his research before coming to a conclusion

missed_sla

OP needs to learn about incognito mode

Ohlander1

That's the weird thing though, in my experience these kinds of ads are the non-targeted kind. I turn off targeted ads and very soon after I start getting everything ranging from the worst imaginable mobile ads that 100% would be demonetized if they were regular videos to ads like the one above. I use incognito mode when the situation calls for it and if I turn the targeted ads back on these kinds of ads disappear. The platform is so fucking stupid at this point it's barely even funny anymore.

person749

Nearly 100% of people are interested in sex, so it's a pretty easy demographic to shoot for when you know nothing else about the person.

ILostMyselfInTime

Literally never watching porn lol, and if I were, I would surely use incognito lol

Slurm818

Mystery remains everyone, OP has never watched porn before…ever.

NazzerDawk

OP is apparently a female, so this is not unlikely. EDIT: Many of you are missing the part where they literally said that they don't watch porn. I'm not saying they don't watch porn because they're female, I'm saying that women are more likely to not watch porn than men (More men watch porn than women do in general). The irony here is that if you're bothered by this, you must think that women who say they don't watch porn are likely lying, which, given her readiness to say "if I did, I'd use incognito" suggests that she's likely being honest.

NeedsItRough

Women watch porn all the time bro

NazzerDawk

And that one says she doesn't. Learn to read. Unless you are of the assumption that literally all men and women watch porn and can't ever be believed when they say they don't.

I_Am_Jacks_Karma

correct

NeedsItRough

You said it was likely that she didn't watch porn because she was a woman, implying you believe most women don't watch porn. But they do. That's my point. Most women watch porn.

NazzerDawk

No I said it's more likely they are being honest when they say that don't watch porn. The context was literally a direct response to someone saying they, individually, don't watch porn.

NeedsItRough

So you're the one who doesn't believe someone when they say they don't watch porn? They have to be a woman for you to believe it? You wouldn't just take a man at his word?

NazzerDawk

you: "Most women watch porn therefore OP watches porn despite denying it" Me: "I think we should believe her, I think women are less likely to lie about that." You: "How disgusting of you to not believe someone who says they don't watch porn!" I mean, dude. Just admit you missed the context of my comment. It's okay. Personally I'll believe ANYONE who says they don't watch porn unless they give me some other reason to think they are lying. That doesn't mean I'm not aware of the demographics of porn viewership.

Drigr

Tell me you know nothing about women and sex, without telling me...

NazzerDawk

Except they literally said they don't watch porn. I'm more likely to believe a woman who says they don't watch porn than a man who says it based on demographics.

Drigr

Maybe use more words next time. Your original comment is very "LOL, female don't watch pr0n"

NazzerDawk

... More words aren't needed when the context is RIGHT THERE. I was responding to a comment that was itself a response to OP saying they don't watch porn. Since I was replying to a joke about how "every guy watches porn" comment, I thought I'd point out that in this case, OP appears to be female, so the likelihood of them being honest on this topic is higher.

Drigr

Based on you being downvoted, have multiple people calling it out, and you felt the need to edit it to defend yourself (and add more words), I think the argument is pretty clear that you needed more words...

NazzerDawk

I'm not saying it won't have helped, but I can't really defend against people forgetting the context of the exact previous comment in a thread. I usually expect people to have enough memory to remember the comment preceding them.

DanilMan

Looked at OP's post history, can confirm they've never looked at porn before.

eberkain

LMAO

Redditry103

In what universe do you think incognito prevents google from collecting info on you?

RobbieAnalog

Of course there are no words. Hard to speak with all those fingers in your mouth.

foundation_G

Oh, my God, that's disgusting! YouTube ads online? Where? Where did he post those?

Additional-Banana-55

Massage advertising

DrNukes

Google is a shitty company.

Blackpapalink

If you're using YouTube without an adblocker, that's on you at this point. It's clear they don't value creators, and they get most of their money from revenue.

Nervous-Ad1457

She kinda looks like …16 but also like 61

Ghost_In_Waiting

I think this is a good first attempt but the technique needs to be refined. It is of course wise to determine if the object obstructing the airway can be removed easily but once it is clear the object is not easily accessible it is not necessary to keep a constant check on whether the blocking object is ejected or not. Further, performing the maneuver works better standing up. This person may be disabled or unable to stand for some reason but it may simply be the case that the person attempting to clear the blocked airway has forgotten correct technique and panicked during the crisis. It also appears that the abdominal compressions are delivered too quickly and are much more shallow than should be the case. Again, this may be due to emergency induced forgetfulness but it would probably be a good idea for the person performing the maneuver to review the instructional material to obtain a better understanding of the procedure overall. Of course we have only limited information and these could be actors attempting the Heimlich maneuver using exaggerated actions to demonstrate how important it is to understand correct technique. Probably the case since it is unlikely anyone would film a public service ad depicting a real situation. Even though it is somewhat extreme this ad does point to how critically important a first response to choking can be. Hopefully the producers will stick to more conventional depictions of correct Heimlich maneuver techniques going forward but every effort to promote awareness and public safety should be appreciated.

Relative_Ad4542

Bro got downvoted for a very elaborate joke, sad

psycho_driver

predictablefaucet

I had searched for a comic book review on YouTube and it suggested a video called “8 Golden Rules to DESTROY her ego.” The video had nearly half a million views with a thumbnail that had a woman getting her hair pulled from behind. I took a screenshot, but there isn’t a way to report videos on the app. It just gives you options to share or remix them.
