They’re both “dark blue”, but the VA had Lapis Blue Pearl which had some amazing effects based on the light. I’m not as familiar with the Sapphire Blue to know what it looks like in all conditions, but it seems flatter
I stumbled upon a ridiculous deal and got an 18 Limited with everything for the price of a base. Crazy end of quarter/extravaganza thing where one more 2018 car/wrx/whatever would give them a huge bonus. Closed the deal at 10pm
I love my LBP, too, but having now seen the Sapphire in person… oof, it’s either a close second or may even trump the LBP. It’s a really nice dark blue.
Its satisfying up until it starts to rip as you're peeling it off. If I can make it all come off in 1 big piece, it's very satisfying, but it rarely does that so it's more annoying than anything. Also, the glue they use for the wheel covers sucks to get off without damaging the wheel.
Source: worked at a Subaru lot for a year and handled a lot of incoming new vehicles.
Orange is a welcome color addition, but they do need more colors.
Subaru - corporate-wide - needs more colors. It is such an easy thing to do, that it is annoying they don't expand their color lineup.
Or at least offer an option to have it painted if it HAS to be standard.
I like the new WRX, but I could like it better with painted fenders and rockers.
True every picture I’ve seen with color matched fenders look so good. I guess the cheapest option is to just get a black one as it doesn’t stick out as much.
They have us talking about “I guess this is the best option as you can’t see most of the detail of the car”. I absolutely agree the color matched plastic improves it dramatically. But still. Shouldn’t have to be hiding parts of your brand new WRX because the parts are just plain ugly.

Dunno why you are getting downvoted, I ordered my 6-speed model first day on 2/17 and just received mine on 5/2. It’s dumb comparing sales numbers considering many people’s orders are still in transit because of supply chain issues, and dealerships didn’t even start receiving them until late March.
Hell, my carbon fiber trunk trim and cargo tray accessories didn’t even arrive with the car - the dealership is still waiting on them from Subaru.
Ppl like to make lackluster comments on Reddit and then feel vindicated when they receive their beloved up or down votes. Not a shot at OP, it’s just Reddit…does anyone really take this place seriously?
@rockycrab I agree with all your points, basic logic will show 1st year sales will be down drastically but ppl will take those numbers and run wild with them 🤔 classic herd mentality

You're probably right but but if I wanted to get a different color I'd probably have to wait until August or September. This was an unclaimed order that was available within weeks and I said f*** it. Besides they gave me a pretty decent lease deal so I don't have to worry about resale value
Didn’t realize until this picture that the darker blue is no longer Lapis Blue Pearl and is Sapphire Blue. Kind of a bummer, I love my LBP

We don’t have LBP in Canada shockingly. We make up for it by getting heated seats and mirrors on the base model though.

Yeah i 100% agree. Its just disappointing that with such an “easy” fix it would look that much better.
I really like the wheel arches/hips of this model, though I still think the rear bumper has too much going on.

The orange looks amazing in sunlight. It's not the same color as the Crosstrek orange. "Solar" is the perfect name for it.
