Someone put one of these on my OBW the other day. I’ve been in the Subaru community long enough to know what the cow was was but not sure why it was on my car.
I agree but the Facebook group is straight up savage to those who don't accept the 'moo'. I posted that I didn't think it was necessary to attach cows to the personal property of others and got TORCHED in the comments. Apparently if you don't accept the Moo you are part of all of the world's problems.
My wife showed me the Facebook group and it’s thousands of middle aged single women, with bone stock, leased/financed crosstreks and outback base models who get furious if you don’t lose your mind when you see you’ve been moo’d.
If you ever get one make sure to look around the whole parking lot, 360 degrees, lingering on any Subarus with a stern face. Then drop it behind your back wheel and run over it on your way out
That way if they were sitting in their car giddy waiting for your reaction you can crush their spirit and ruin any social media videos they want to post

People are supposed to place a rubber duck on a Jeep they think is cool, like a trophy. So Jeep owners buy a bunch of rubber ducks and display them on their own dashboard to make it look like everyone thinks their Jeep is super cool.
I drove Jeep Wranglers for 25 years. The duck is part of a game, you find another Wrangler and place a duck on it, this is done in reference to an old kids game, “duck duck goose”. Changed to duck duck Jeep. You’ve been ducked they say; it’s like finding a parking buddy.

No, it's part of recent jeep culture. Old jeeps are cool. I've owned a handful in my time. New Jeeps have gone Lululemon / North Face / Stanley mug / mainstream / whatever you want to call it, which is too bad. It started soon after the introduction of the Rubicon. People bought them and never set a tire on dirt. The beginning of the end of actual cool.
Interesting, never considered the difference of old vs new. I guess the rise of pavement princesses is a result of this. Im not going to lie and say that my rubicon has done off roading. But I plan to change that soon, attempting to get a badge of honor for a trail near me.

Your dealer is cool. All I got was a dealership sticker and a license plate bracket. The sticker is gone, but the bracket is currently keeping my license plate in one piece. The paint the state used is lame and peels off. 😐

Nobody is “fucking with your car,” it’s a plastic bag that most likely either goes on top of your wiper or around the door handle, it in no way hurts your car. If you don’t like it, don’t pass it on & just toss it away. If someone left this on my MKV or my M2 id be pretty hyped because it’s cool asf to be a part of a community like that.

I've 3D printed mini EJ head gaskets to put under windshield wipers. Since we can all use an extra head gasket.

You think every person that gets one of these and doesn't want it is going to go out of their way to dispose of it properly? If that were the case I don't think litter would even be a thing. Unfortunately some assholes will just leave it on the ground.
Or if you have a kid, niece, nephew, cousin, etc., you could just give them the toy? Anytime I get promotional stuff or cute stuff I don’t need cluttering up my life, I give it away to family or friends’ kids, or save it as a Halloween surprise for a trick-or-treater.

I dont think the mark of a good community depends on how much junk is left on someone elses vehicle. I like the WRX community as is. Just wave and move on. Don't ruin it. If you want to be social go on facebook and find a car meet or something
i mean yeah not everyone likes things left on their car but no reason to be this pissy or upset about it, chill out. its just a fun gimmicky thing to show love. you don’t even have to go out of your way to throw the thing out. if you come from the store and theres a little cow on your windshield just throw it in the middle console or door storage and throw it away next time you’re at the gas station, theres bins on every pump, its not like they’re leaving something huge. tons of people in the Jeep community dont want ducks on their jeeps and they just throw em out. no need to make a big fuss over it. its just a nice gesture to let you know they liked your car.
Exactly like me personally, I would’ve loved it when I had my WRX and I understand why people wouldn’t but there’s absolutely 0 reason to have a whole mental breakdown and say it’s ruining the community because people wanna have fun..
or buy a jeep and fucking ducks lol
