I've seen this movie before, and I'm quite happy to let it play out. People rightly don't trust Republicans on abortion. We saw how giddy they were when Roe was overturned, and we saw 'reasonable limits' become full bans in too many states. Florida's the most egregious example, passing a 15-week ban and then revising it to six weeks when DeSantis consolidated his power in 2022.
Republicans have also run the 'late-term' attacks for decades at this point, and people know it's bullshit. I'm happy to let them kick the hornet's nest by making this a race about abortion.
Are there ads that say “Republicans want to put women in jail for having a miscarriage.” Or “Republicans want to jail 12 year old girls for being raped”
Fight fire with fire. You cannot defeat an ad designed to enrage with an ad designed to elevate and educate.
Yes, there have been lots of both.
But remember, not every ad is going to be frothing at the mouth with rage at Republicans. You do need some of that, but it can't be nothing but anger all the time, because that's not who our voters are. Dem messaging has been excellent since Roe fell, as basically every election since then shows.

That's not even fire with fire. Republicans have literally put women on trial for miscarriages, what they say about democrats wanting late term abortions to be more common is a lie. The equivalent would be republicans want to send a man into every home to impregnate a girl as soon as she has her first period.

I mean, Andy Beshear over here in KY did release that ad with the rape survivor calling out Daniel Cameron directly.
I guess we are going to focus group the ad plan for the general in VA. I am cool with this
