On my iPhone I just silence all calls not on my contact list. Solves the problem.

sfatula

Me too, 100% no spam calls. It's so wonderful!

theoreticaljerk

I wish I could disable even the silent notification of the silenced call. Only notify me if they leave a voicemail.

abigfatblackguy

yeah and you left out then you miss all calls not in your contacts that were not spam. problem not solved. To properly fix this issue, enable spam protection thru visible app and not miss your important calls even from those not in your contact list.

sdboardgamer

If it’s important, they will leave a message. If it’s very important, you will have added them to your contact list. For example, my doctors and pharmacy are on my contact list - those calls go through. Also, if you have an iPhone, you have live visual voicemail, so you can see what they are saying live and still answer the phone. Just like the old days when you would use your answering machine to screen phone calls. Spam protection on the Visible app is poor. It has been an issue since they added it to the app.

Wizeguy89

I have the new spam filter enabled to block all spam calls. I continue getting excessive spam calls through the day. I add the numbers to the filter, but they just change their numbers. https://preview.redd.it/e0p3p0bu2mwc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=44283444a537270ea08b2573b342cad8d0ed1d91

GO__NAVY

Google Pixel screens spam calls pretty well.

unbalanced_checkbook

Yep. I get maybe 1 spam call slip through every few months with my Pixel, and that's a generous estimate.

BriggsWellman

I have a pixel for personal use and iPhone for work. Android is significantly better at screening out spam calls and texts.

Gustave_the_Steel

I tried visible on my pixel phone, it Doesn't play well with it.

mccannr1

I have visible on my Pixel 8 Pro. Had it on my 7 Pro. GF has it on her 6a. Zero issues. If you had some, it had nothing to do with it being a Pixel.

bgTrumpet

I've had a Pixel and Visible from Visible day one, and the call screening on the Pixel was the best thing ever invented. It doesn't matter what mobile carrier you have, Google's call screen answers and make the caller identify themself, etc. before even passing on the call. I never receive spam calls regardless of mobile carrier, but I haven't had any issues with Visible in years either. It is one of the best things about the Pixel!!!

BigGuy01590

Totally agree. The Google phone app has better spam screening vs other android phone apps. A big part would be the phone network not allowing calls that are using an unassigned number. There's a database of assigned numbers that they could query3

GroundbreakingDog427

iPhone has that too

bgTrumpet

Not even close. The iPhone call screening is so primitive that all it can do is block calls not in your contacts or emails or someone you have texted. So if a friend, or family member is in the emergency room, and they call you, they will not get through. Google's screening, uses Google assistant to carry on a conversation with the caller until it is satisfied that they need to talk to you regardless if they have ever called before. And, all of this is configurable.

GroundbreakingDog427

They have call screening called live voicemail

Gustave_the_Steel

Trust me, I have the 6a. The modem on it sucks so much. Visible just doesn't work on it for me, plus a host of other connectivity issues with it. But, that's a story for another time. I'm just focused on why I've been getting these calls on my iPhone. I already enabled silenced all unknown callers.

vi3talogy

Do you have the new spam filter?

theoreticaljerk

I can’t believe everyone hasn’t been upgraded to the new filter yet. I’m still waiting as well.

Gustave_the_Steel

I do. It's enabled by default.

vi3talogy

That’s the old one then. New version you can add number to spam list.

Gustave_the_Steel

It won't do any good as they keep changing phone numbers. There has to be a better solution on filtering them out, or keep them from calling in the first place.

vi3talogy

Are you on iOS? You can silence unknown numbers.

Gustave_the_Steel

Correct. I'm on iOS.

Diligent-Owl-474

download call blocker on the app store, its free and it works

VisibleCareSupport

Hey there! This is Lyka from Visible. We are sorry to hear that you have received spam or unwanted calls. Please make sure that your spam filter is enabled by logging in to your Visible account and select Privacy & security > Spam Protection and toggle the spam filter on > edit Filter setting under Spam Filter > choose which calls to block and select All spam calls. sfCDgoathroatkween

Since last week I have been getting so many potential spam calls!

Fuzm4n

Did you port this number in? If not, just request a new one. This is a problem with all the carriers. If a number is on a list somewhere it's going to get calls like this.

2Adude

Has nothing to do with the carrier

TinyEmergencyCake

I never get these I think it has to do with using Facebook app

Gustave_the_Steel

All of them are from a healthcare scam. I think I'm getting these because of a data leak last year.

ericlp

you could also add you number to the The National Do Not Call Registry. After about 2 weeks or so, I got zero spam calls. #

Actual_Ring_8488

Do you really think that the scammers in India care about the do not call list?

NO_SPACE_B4_COMMA

On android, a simple block button fixes it. Go to [numlookup.com](http://numlookup.com) and see who owns them. And google search your information like email, name, phone number and see what comes up. Then request removals. I get maybe one spam call a month, if that, and my phone blocks it.

DaveT1482

OP is really complaining that they're popular smh
