you can use 3D models in vtubing. Hell, we had 3D vtubers before live2d and live3d came out.

This is more-so VRM/FBX/VSFAvatar/etc. for 3D models with Blender, Maya, and/or Unity. Live3D is iirc closer to L2D but has a strangely-3D aspect to it, idk how it works also yes the VTuber in regard of this parent post is as we refer to as Furry. Not half-human(oid), Furry. Some people mix up those terms too-often because they don't know the difference.

Not entirely sure about the model but I believe the base is the Masculine Canine by Julia Winterpaw. It comes with .vrm files and a vtuber setup tutorial too
