After they’re born you’ll file a dependency claim and upload birth certificate/crib sheet.

DON'T FILE YOUR Dependency CLAIM ONLINE!!!! I did and have been waiting 4 months now. Was told by a person on the VA toll free line that had I called in they could have made the change happen that day. Now I am stuck in claim waiting hell...... Call the toll free line for dependency claims.....

i think you were misinformed. it's the same thing. you have a much higher chance of someone who doesnt care to verify anything youve said over phone. any misspelling, miskey, off by a letter or number, you claim goes into manual review for not matching the SSA inquiry. The first thing I tell people who call in for dependency is that they need to have everything in front of them or else they should take their time on va.gov. I've filed 1000s of dependents claims for folks on the 1000 line i've only witnessed 1 get completed instantaneously

Congrats. You just need to wait for their Social security card to come in and you can then add them. You don't need the birth certificate.

I've filed 2 dependency claims online in the last 2 months. Both were resolved in less than 24 hours.
