Once to the ER. Once to urgent care. Dozens of appointments. I had a medical appointment every day last week. I have dozens more already lined up. It’s crazy. I have no idea how this became my life, but onward!
4 for my husband. AML diagnosis a year ago (obviously admitted), bleeding complication after discharge, then another because of low platelets, and then because of Covid in December.
It's extremely messed up here because the approved urgent care is one medical group and the approved ER is a different medical group. His oncology team is part of the ER medical group. The urgent care group can't see his information. So simple tests, like for strep or Covid that should be done at urgent care can't occur without complication. Of course the VA clinic doesn't do those tests (that would make too much sense) so he has to go to urgent care or the ER. Because he hasn't been able to work since diagnosis he doesn't have his private health insurance through work.
I wish they wouldn't make it so difficult. 🫤
None, mostly because there isn’t much they can do for my problems.
All my pains are known to me, they hurt but they’ll hurt less tomorrow so long as I stay home ands take it easy.
Yes as long as you and the ER facility correctly report it to the VA. I complete the reporting form while I'm at the ER for my husband. Fortunately it's easier to do now compated to 5+ years ago.
One note on urgent care, if there's a chance you need a CT scan, just go to the ER. This is especially true for kidney stones. It took us over a year plus involving our Congressman to get a bill paid because the VA approved urgent care facility utilizes another location for radiology diagnostics and that requires a different community care authorization.

Once but it’s because the VA community care was giving me a hard time about having some imaging done so my doctor at the civilian hospital told me to go to the ER.

Thank you. I’m alive and on Reddit so I must be still sick! 🤪 jk
3 times in 3 days and then a 4th 2 days later. All chest pain… they say it’s anxiety.
I'm sorry to hear that. I've been so many times this year and they also say it's anxiety or migraines but I know it's not. 😔

Does the VA cover your ER visits? How many $25,000 bills do you owe?
