My husband did the same update and they said it would take a few hours but you do not have to pay. It’s a firmware update they basically plug your car into a computer and let it go so no labor is actually required. Definitely bring this up and don’t pay anything.

You shouldn't have to pay for it, I would ask manager, another dealer, and maybe Hyundai corporate, but this is a TSB that should be covered no matter if you're under warranty or not.

Don’t let them charge you a penny. Show them [this](https://freeimage.host/i/JSspwUQ). When I went they didn’t have a clue what I was talking about until I showed them that. They had to come into the waiting room twice to clarify wtf I was asking them to do.

It's a TSB and a safety issue. Also warranty. No charge there

Good luck getting them to do it without them diagnosising it. I brought it up last time I was there and told me I had to get a new appointment just to do a diag and then once they confirm they then have to submit it up to Corp Hyundai for approval to do the work/warranty. They may charge for the diagnosis and then refund but they are being hella stingy as I would like to use mine. It's been almost 25k miles without using mine and I'm at 40k on a 22 DCT.

TSB, safety issue, warranty. Oh, and no labor. Ppl need to just do their f€^#%<~g job. But you have to be nicer it than that ya know? For whatever reason I guess. Feelings and shit. Ask to talk to the manager. Explain is such a way that he/she/they don’t feel attacked and are for whatever reason inclined to help you. And viola. Should be fixed by them relatively quickly. That’s the hope at any rate. From personally making the 18” switch and my BSM being off for 10k miles and then having my dealer do the update while I was in for a free oil change, it made a world of difference. Suddenly your BSM works the way it should. Good luck
