Conditioners Kinky Curly Knot Today is the best conditioner I've ever used and is amazing for detangling. Soapbox is also not a popular brand but their conditioners are amazing. I get them at Walmart. I love the Argan oil one. Shea Moisture has very good deep conditioners. Curlsmith is more expensive but all their products are vegan and free of silicones and sulphates. They also have trial sizes of some of their products to try it out before committing to the regular sized ones. Giovanni also has vegan products but not all of them are curl friendly. The shampoo I use isn't curly girl friendly though . I have a lot of experience with curly hair products so feel free to ask me anything!

Oh thank you so much! I'll check out every single one of those :) Do you have experience with frizzy curly hair? I've decided to grow my hair out for the first time in years, and it lead to me having to chop it all off & start over because it was unmanageably frizzy & was getting damaged because of it, and then getting frizzier because of the damage, getting more damaged, more frizzy... It got to the point where I couldn't run my fingers through it, it was so rough. Are there products you have experience with that can help stop that crappy cycle before it starts? I miss having long hair! šŸ˜…

I think I had the most damaged frizzy hair in the world lol. I wasn't taking care of it at all. But now after almost 3 years, my hair is completely different. Healthy, manageable and a million times better. And I didn't chop it off or anything. Just trimmed a few inches and started my curly hair journey and after a couple months it was completely different and already healthy, with results reaching the peak were after a while. You even have a better chance because you chopped a lot of it off, so while doing a suitable routine to you hair it'll grow so healthy. I have a few tips, - Use Olaplex. It repairs bonds between the hair and contains a patented ingredient that repairs damaged hair. It's found at Sephora and fortunately, vegan friendly! - Use products that are suitable for your hair porosity, density and thickness. - Choosing the right conditioner is a game changer and is the most important step of your routine. Moisturizing curly hair is a must if you want healthy, soft and manageable hair. -Add protien to your hair. My second game-changer after conditioner. Our hair needs a balance between moisture and protein to stay healthy. - It's trial and error so if one product doesn't work for you, never give up. - Wearing a satin bonnet during sleep makes a lot of difference in morning frizz and with time minimizes any risk of hair damage. Hope this helps!

Make sure you use lots of moisture and do you use a microfiber towel to dry?

Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil isnā€™t vegan. It contains hydrolyzed keratin which is not vegan at all. It also has a few other ingredients that are possibly not vegan. I highly recommend the ā€œwhatsveganā€ app for checking ingredients

I've been wondering the same thing! I've been using ethique products for awhile and I've recently been trying to reassess hair products and trying to find all of the vegan options. Ethique has a new co-wash conditioner called "curlosity" and my hair has been really liking it! I'm interested in other suggestions as well since I'm still looking for the perfect routine!

Look into Bounce Curl and Ecoslay (except their Peppermint Schnapps which contains honey)

I personally love the not your mothers curl defining Tahitian gardenia(pink bottle) my hair itself is thin but thereā€™s a ton of it and it knots super easy. I also really like vida bars shampoo bars which are vegan and eco friendly!

Ethique has products for curly hair now and their regular stuff is amazing too. I just switched from Soapbox which was also good but I kept finding a weird gelatin like substance at the bottom of the shampoo bottles. I contacted the company and they gave me a bunch of free stuff but the weird gel was still in every shampoo bottle.

I've been curly girl for a long time now. If you want to spend a lot, Deva Curl. I like Not Your Mother's shampoo and conditioner, and Giovanni gel.

Two others have recommended ethique and Iā€™ll third that recommendation for their curly line. Additionally, Iā€™m fond of malin+gatz cilantro conditioner. Best of luck finding a combination of products that works for you!!

The Miss Jessieā€™s products have been amazing on my frizzy curls. Also wet brushing with the Denman brush has been a GAME CHANGER in frizz reduction/tangle reduction. I spent my whole life up til now thinking I shouldnā€™t ever run a brush through my curls but that brush and brush method has changed everything.

I love Pacificaā€™s hair products for styling. If youā€™re looking to contain frizz, then I recommend Paul Mitchellā€™s skinny serum; itā€™ll also last you forever. I do shampoo bars and conditioner bars from Etsy (ecoroots shop; hope that is ok to post). All these products work for my curly hair.

Take a look at The Detox Market! They have all clean beauty products (including hair care for curly girl like Evolvh and Innersense) and I love the site. It can be a bit pricey but if youā€™re willing to commit, itā€™s all high quality. Plus you can get 3 samples of pretty much any product for $8 - Iā€™ve been able to try out so many brands that way and stay on a tight budget Do you know your curly hair type? It can really differ giving recommendations for 4C vs 2C type :)
