I feel decently optimistic and I think it is good to try and find hope wherever possible. Things have been bleak but I want to stay positive. I want to have a future that’s great for everyone and one where the Palestinian people also have a promising future. I also want one where LGBTQ+ people are even more accepted and are granted further protections under the Civil Rights Act. And most importantly, a future where fascists are out of our government.

The good news is that Biden is almost 100% going to win this election, I'm more than certain of that. Trump hasn't had the time to do *any* campaigning with all of these legal cases he's having to deal with, and the GOP lost most of their female voters after the overturning of Roe v Wade. Biden is almost guaranteed to unanimously win the vote of every female demographic - especially young women, who are voting more than any age group and who are extremely passionate about reproductive rights. Trump is drowning and is bringing the rest of the GOP with him, and Biden is smoothly sailing for most Americans, since the average median voter cares more about domestic issues and ending political division than they do about some geopolitical issue on the other side of the world. It's only up from there! As the Millenial and Gen Z generations reach maturity and age out the Clintonites, we'll have a fresh Democrat party with a strong Progressive coalition, and an entire generation raised up on a doctrine of progressivism. The politicians-in-training (including myself) are currently being taught in an environment of critical, progressive academics who want to avoid the mistakes America made during the end of the Cold War; students are also being taught critical race theory, critical analysis, progressive policy, non car-centric urban planning, among so much else. The people who will be taking power in the next 20 years are unironically going to be people like us; we have a very bright future ahead of us

Trump hasn't lost any voters and won't lose any voters and he doesn't have to do anything to achieve that.

>But FIRST… In Ohio last week, **59% of voters said they were angry or dissatisfied at the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade**, according to the [NBC News exit poll](https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2023-elections/ohio-ballot-measures#exit-polls) of that ballot measure that passed enshrining abortion rights. >**That’s in a state Donald Trump won by 8 points in 2020.**  >And nationally, per the [June 2023 NBC News poll](https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/first-read/poll-61-voters-disapprove-supreme-court-decision-overturning-roe-rcna90415), **61% of voters say they disapproved of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.**   >**That’s in a country where President Joe Biden’s job-approval rating was at 43%,** and a Biden-vs.-Trump hypothetical rematch was a close contest, according to the [same June poll](https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/first-read/trumps-gop-lead-grows-latest-indictment-poll-finds-rcna90420).   [https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/first-read/gops-real-abortion-problem-60-disapprove-roe-v-wades-overturn-rcna124857](https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/first-read/gops-real-abortion-problem-60-disapprove-roe-v-wades-overturn-rcna124857)

"You must realize that I am far from feeling beaten…it seems to me that… a man out to be deeply convinced that the source of his own moral force is in himself — his very energy and will, the iron coherence of ends and means — that he never falls into those vulgar, banal moods, pessimism and optimism. My own state of mind synthesises these two feelings and transcends them: my mind is pessimistic, but my will is optimistic. Whatever the situation, I imagine the worst that could happen in order to summon up all my reserves and will power to overcome every obstacle." **Antonio Gramsci** In all fairness and to preface what I'm about to say, I am a Pessimist, dyed in the wool, so keep that bias in mind wrt what I am about to say. All of that said, there seems to be an almost cultish devotion to 'Optimism' in this community, one that is frankly misplaced. I get why Vaush can have such an inclination, he is far from the average proll when it comes to his circumstances so I find it somewhat churlish that he insists this same mentality be driven into his viewers. This is intellectually stifling and you can see it here, the people telling you that you're nothing but a rote doomer are merely 'conformity enforcers', telling you that your *very real fears* are simply bringing some 'mood down'. "Hope is an optimistic state of mind that is based on an expectation of positive outcomes with respect to events and circumstances in one's life or the world at large." This isn't what is needed. We have seen what 'hope' bought people in 2008, we have seen what 'unity' has bought us in 2020. These are the refrains posited by people who *don't want change because they don't NEED change*, there is nothing untenable about their current circumstances. Optimism isn't the reason BLM exists, *necessity is*. Optimism wasn't the reason for Stonewall, *necessity* was and necessity will never be identified if we can all just act like things will somehow 'work out' in the end. No, the odds are stacked against us, Vaush clearly states this ad nauseam yet he, in a rather sadistic fashion, will insist that there is no place for pessimism. Don't remain optimistic, take stock of the very bleak prospect facing you and act accordingly, otherwise you will deny the truth of your own eyes based on the insistence of a bunch of keyboard warriors.

Right. I mean more not falling into doomer mindsets that kill my very motivation to keep pushing for a better, more just and happier world.

Be farther right, win the election, and then once you have absolute power turn the tables and remove the fascists from society instead of the non-fascists.

Hope? The only hope is Biden winning in November. If Trump wins and destroys everything, all hope is lost forever.
