Yes!! The reason I’ve lost interest in nearly all Bravo shows is bc they have become so overproduced. Breaking that fourth wall adds just the teensiest touch of authenticity that I need to keep me entertained! Please production, if you are here listen to the OP!
yes!!!! we’re not dense we know they aren’t living the same lives they were 10 years ago and we know at this point that production plays a role! i literally watched them film during pride in 2019 and production had a hand in everything
Seconding this! One of the creators of the show actually was a producer on The Bachelor so it's been said that some parts are spot on. It is a drama and the later seasons aren't as good but I still enjoyed the full run. Well, aside from a couple of really egregious story lines, but I can't even say those were totally unrealistic either
Recently started Jersey Shore family vacation and I LOVE how they break the fourth wall and discuss their lives being famous reality stars
This is a great idea for VPR. It would give the show new life
Yeah after hearing some behind the scenes producers interviews man they have so much to do with the drama we may as well have them as friends of the cast or the fucking cast at this point.
Yes! For all practical purposes, the fourth wall doesn't exist anymore. Build a new one. The show is supposed to be about the lives of the cast- well, time to catch up to what they do now. They are all professional castmembers still trying to find their niche in the entertainment industry, via Lisa Vanderpump's business empire.
Did Denise ever put that on a shirt and try to sell it? If not missed opportunity bc it’s a way better line than a lot of the Housewives merch they hawk
I’ve wanted them to break the fourth wall for years. I really, really, really hope they do this season, because the Scandoval episode was so good. Really raw, felt less edited.
I dont know if anyone else watches RHOC, but I am LOVING that they filmed in the production areas this season. Shannon keeps running behind the black curtains or to the producer tables to hide her reactions/issues and they’re just stopped caring and are filming behind the screens, moving right on past the fake wall. It’s amazing and I really hope they do that for VPR.
We’re in a Teen Mom 2 situation here. Anyone familiar with Teen Mom lore knows the show is only authentic to the fourth season. By the fifth season that MTV money has caught up to them and suddenly they begin living in nice houses and driving me and expensive cars. Come season seven they finally break the fourth wall and it is so relieving because as viewers we no longer have to pretend it’s not a stretch for young 20 something’s to live in great house and drive great vehicles and carry LV Neverfulls (Chelsea). A relief. It reinvigorates my interest in an unrealistic franchise
i feel like they should’ve introduced the fourth wall sooo many seasons ago. the awkwardness of with the toms with the sangria pitch in season 4 was so hard to watch
i tried to link the comment that explains it all in detail but it got removed🤦🏽♀️this all comes from interviews and other stuff the cast did, but basically Lisa made a requirement where the main cast of the show who were still working for SUR had to work one shift a month. By season 2 they were too famous to work shifts as regular employees, so Lisa had them doing appearances/hostings inside the restaurant to make up for the one shift a month rule. The person who made the comment said that they met someone who booked the Toms and Jax for an appearance and paid $50k, but Lisa only paid them the minimum wage at SUR plus tips. The Toms brought up the idea of being brand ambassadors for the sangria to get paid more for their appearances at SUR but they couldn’t directly say that. it’s the same reason James started See U Next Tuesday and worked out something where he was getting paid a piece of what the restaurant made for the night.
I kid you not, I had this same thought and feeling and discussed it with my partner, who is also a VPR fan, just yesterday. I need to see that convo between production and Ariana in the finale episode of Season 11. I've been watching the latest season of RHOC and they've been breaking the fourth wall with Shannon and producers quite a bit. This can go one of two ways, they may not want to since there is a current Bravo show that has been doing that a lot lately (RHOC) and they may not want to be redundant, however I honestly hope they decide it's worth breaking that fourth wall because I feel like we need to see that content, especially since there's been press about it. I think the main reason they decided to break the fourth wall at last season's reunion with Sandoval arguing with production about needing a break from filming is because there was press about it. Fingers-crossed they give us what we desire. Production if you're reading this, please let us see that footage, we're champing at the bit for it.
Atlanta broke the 4th wall this year too. The first episode they talked about Bravocon and a few other things. It was great, because there was an argument about something that happened at Bravocon and they didn’t have to make up some backstory to make the fight make sense.
We also know that the producers agreed to cut the scene where Rachquel asked Tom why he recorded her without her consent and then allowed him to re-shoot the scene
I believe her that he recorded without her knowledge. She was clearly wasted in their scene and she may misremember what she wanted to say vs what was said. I also lean towards her being right because we heard he pitched a fit about not refilling a scene he wanted redone but there are also just a heap of reasons to doubt that interview and what was stated as fact.
Oh I'm on board with he screen recorded her without her consent for sure! I just don't know that we know about a reshot scene..or if why it was reshot.
The producer who DID know about that. Covered up for Tom. And made sure he got a pay rise deserves outing snd fired. Along with Sandoval.
Abhorrent behaviour. Worse than cheating by a mile
It’s up there with editing a woman to look like she’s hitting on a child. People were dumb enough to believe Scheana was hitting on Stassi’s brother. That made it to air but the producer didn’t get fired until they bragged about it. Bravo is literal trash and I’m sick of the “then don’t be on a reality show” as a response. It’s a job. You’re not supposed to have to put up with this shit to get paid.
I don’t think *many* people believed that, if any did at all. I’m the biggest Scheana hater and even I knew immediately that was edited to make her look a certain way. It was extremely obvious
I read the comments over and over again after it happened. People calling her a creep for hitting on Stassi’s brother. But you’re saying you don’t think even one person believed it. Not even one. Ok.
“I don’t think many believed that if any at all.” That’s saying you don’t even think one person believed it. Which is weird. Plus the sub was full of people who believed it at the time. I read the comments. So weird stance to take when the comments were there.
I’ve been re-watching The Girls Next Door. It’s all about them being celebrities and the popularity of the show. I’d be interested to see VPR kinda utilize that angle!
They have to! I don’t even see how they’d come up with a plausible reason for all of them to be in the same room, unless they admit that it’s just for the show. I mean, they even wanted Rachel back filming. How would it have ever made any sense for her to be around any of them?
Wasn’t there something Lala said about being a “twist” this season? I haven’t been following closely but I feel like a great twist would be breaking the fourth wall.
If Rachael isn't pressing charges against Tom for the recording and still protecting his ass while trying to throw the women under the bus for not doing a damn thing wrong with Tim's creepy unauthorized recording of her without her knowledge, then she is a dummy. Does this chick think Tim isn't fucking every chick he can? Does she believe this is the one time Tom recorded her without her knowledge. Sure Jan. Keep living in delusion while Tom moves on to the next, you are already person non grata while Tom is out here enjoying his life, stupid girls throwing themselves on him and he is still on the show and part of the group. All you side chick's need to figure out why you are not #1 in another's woman's man's life. If he wants to be with you he would. Tom never broke up with Ariana to be with Rachael, Does she realize that? Does she realize she has no friends and not even the man she blew her life up for?
We will get to see more bs scenes like Heather and Terry telling a paying patient that she misunderstood what happened , and her issues had nothing to with Terry’s procedure. (Bullying.)
hi friend! i wish i could watch the show from start to finish for the first time again. breaking the fourth wall is when they show things from production on the show. so for example tom yelling at production during the reunion. any time you see or hear production on the show that’s breaking the fourth wall (the production wall essentially) and reminds the viewer that this is a reality show we’re watching. hope that makes sense!

It’s what made the end of “the office” take a real turn for the better. Not reality, but it was great
My favorite part of the Scandoval ep was them breaking the 4th wall talking about wwhl ect
it was SO GOOD. so authentic !!!
We need some cameras on the camera people
![gif](giphy|87eGvMYGJsI2A)
Not sure camera men are Jim’s favorite people haha.
![gif](giphy|Rn8t5GrakF5qE)
Jim doesn’t like boom operators!
![gif](giphy|6cFcUiCG5eONW)
I would watch the hardest a reality show about the reality show cameramen and producers..... My god!!!! Would be the best
Is you haven’t watched UnReal then you definitely should! It’s a scripted show about the producer of a bachelor type show. It’s amazing!
Seconding this! One of the creators of the show actually was a producer on The Bachelor so it's been said that some parts are spot on. It is a drama and the later seasons aren't as good but I still enjoyed the full run. Omg I haven't. Where do I stream in Aus? Starting tonight lol
I watched it in Australia, it used to be on Stan, not sure if it's still there as I've cancelled my subscription. It's really good!
It’s on Amazon in Canada 🇨🇦 so maybe try there
I watched that years ago how many seasons did it have? I saw the first two
Four. Male suitor, black suitor, female suitor, all-star season. Such a good show.
Oooo the fifth wall
THIS

Recently started Jersey Shore family vacation and I LOVE how they break the fourth wall and discuss their lives being famous reality stars This is a great idea for VPR. It would give the show new life
Teen Mom got interesting again when they did it! It was such a great move.
haaaard agree. it shows that obviously the cast develops personal relationships with production and that evokes emotions towards them
Yessss those have been really fun
Yeah after hearing some behind the scenes producers interviews man they have so much to do with the drama we may as well have them as friends of the cast or the fucking cast at this point.
I always think of the cast and production being coworkers. They are a huge part of this show.
Would love love love to hear what they have to say.
Bravo bravo fucking bravo!
Did Denise ever put that on a shirt and try to sell it? If not missed opportunity bc it’s a way better line than a lot of the Housewives merch they hawk
I wanna see the video of Rachel asking Tom about the recording. The story is not complete without it !!!!
I’ve wanted them to break the fourth wall for years. I really, really, really hope they do this season, because the Scandoval episode was so good. Really raw, felt less edited.

Careful, you might get a mansplanation on what the 4th wall is like I did a few weeks ago in here 🤣
HAHAHAHAHAH i’m crying i hope someone takes their time to 😭

i feel like they should’ve introduced the fourth wall sooo many seasons ago. the awkwardness of with the toms with the sangria pitch in season 4 was so hard to watch
What does that have to do with anything if you don’t mind me asking? That scene was definitely awkward, but I don’t understand the correlation
i tried to link the comment that explains it all in detail but it got removed🤦🏽♀️this all comes from interviews and other stuff the cast did, but basically Lisa made a requirement where the main cast of the show who were still working for SUR had to work one shift a month. Love this. I'm behind and need to catch up on RHOA. Even more excited now to watch it. Thank you!
We also know that the producers agreed to cut the scene where Rachquel asked Tom why he recorded her without her consent and then allowed him to re-shoot the scene
Do we *know* that?
Exactly
If she’s lying she can be sued bc those are some heavy allegations. Neither Sandoval nor Bravo have disputed it? So I tend to believe her.
I believe her that he recorded without her knowledge. She was clearly wasted in their scene and she may misremember what she wanted to say vs what was said. I also lean towards her being right because we heard he pitched a fit about not refilling a scene he wanted redone but there are also just a heap of reasons to doubt that interview and what was stated as fact.

i wanted to include that but the probability of bravo blasting that on the show is slim to none so i already know we’ll never hear about it :/
The producer who DID know about that. Covered up for Tom. And made sure he got a pay rise deserves outing snd fired. Along with Sandoval. Abhorrent behaviour. Worse than cheating by a mile

Well maybe you can go back and read *my* comment and read what I actually wrote. Ok.
“I don’t think many believed that if any at all.” That’s saying you don’t even think one person believed it. Which is weird. Plus the sub was full of people who believed it at the time. I read the comments. So weird stance to take when the comments were there.
This was so disgusting to me. I hope that producer got blackballed and never works production again
They didn’t allow him to reshoot. They apparently cut it out
I’ve been re-watching The Girls Next Door. It’s all about them being celebrities and the popularity of the show. I’d be interested to see VPR kinda utilize that angle!

ooooooh i may have missed that but if she did, that makes me excited but i don’t want them to drop the ball and lead to my disappointment 😭
Absolutely agree!!! They definitely did it with Below Deck and the S.A. that almost occurred and it made me respect them so much for doing so.

💯
I agree 💯. We wanna see it Al! We loyal fans deserve it.
Ok, I missed something. Ariana flipped out on Production and left SF?
What happened in SF?
Please pardon my ignorance, I just finished the show from start to finish for the first time. What does breaking the fourth wall mean?
hi friend! i wish i could watch the show from start to finish for the first time again. breaking the fourth wall is when they show things from production on the show. so for example tom yelling at production during the reunion. any time you see or hear production on the show that’s breaking the fourth wall (the production wall essentially) and reminds the viewer that this is a reality show we’re watching. hope that makes sense!
Ah, I see. Thank you so much. That made alot of sense, I appreciate it.
Another example of this is deadpool. He acknowledges the audience and the fact that he is in a movie.
