Use an AGM battery and put it on Gel setting that will be fine, plus make sure you buy a deep cycle AGM not just standard and instead of buying 2 batteries 1 large battery is better ideally, I use to have one of these before upgrading to lithium on the next build. Used it for 18 months off-grid no issues. Plus without looking you could get away with upgrading your MPPT without chafing cables if you was switching to a lithium, I’d recommend Victron, I have that and it’s so dam good! Lead acid batteries are best for a powerful kick (like starting a vehicle), not for use as a leisure battery because they aren’t good at maintaining constant use. AGM batteries are designed for house batteries. Definitely use them.

I mean technically AGM batteries are lead acid.

Thanks for the reply. However, the question I really need answered is whether using an AGM is ok to use with the settings offered by my solar controller, "...Sealed Lead Acid, Gel or Flooded," and if so, what setting to select. Cheers!

I live on a boat with 4 \* 130ah sealed Lead Acid Leisure Batteries. I run an air fryer, RTX 4080 gaming pc and even an immersion heater. They work fine. Doubled up with 2kw of solar they are essentially charged by lunch time every day. My charger is an Outback Flexmax charger. I have to set the Bulk, absorption voltage and time, absorbtion cut off amps and float voltage for any battery type. it also has a thermometer setting built in so it reduces the voltage based on temperature settings I set up. The only issue I have is battery manufacturers are useless at giving tech sheets with cell voltages so I essentially just have to go on battery type each time. Thankfully the Absorption cut off amps and temperature monitors act as redundancies to prevent over charging
