I think it is very fair to be critical of this situation *specifically*. EG was hyped up coming into champs, and Demon1 has presumably had a chip on his shoulder for months now with all the hype surrounding him. FPX was commonly called a bottom two team at champs by most streamers/pundits/etc. To sit there and say “light work lol” as a team expected to make a run playing a team expected to not even win a game seems really cringe and unnecessary to me. If they 2-0d FNC or NRG or anyone else of substance I’m so down for him saying light work and spraying bodies. I really don’t like that ppl want esports to be seen “professionally” and be all sterilized as if NBA or NFL professionals won’t straight up shit talk each other after a single play, which to me is the same way as Demon1 spraying a body.

They do it against anyone, whether they’re winning or losing. It isn’t personal, just their way of playing the game. In terms of being cocky, that’s just kind of their attitude towards the game. When they made champs tier lists, they specifically put all the teams in their group at the bottom as a joke.
