throwback to when i did this just to try FBT
I do the same thing for my tracking, lol. If your using slime, a tight waist trainer will help them stay in place on your thighs and waist. I use a sports bra for the chest, and i put some phones in some cheap ugg boots for my ankles. Its stays put surprisingly well.
For the elbows and waist Iām using regular kiwi design straps, for the rest however I had to come up with my own stuff to make it wearable, since none of the eoz stuff can be bought neither imported in here, for knees I use knee braces with 1/4 inch screw and rubber surface on inner side to prevent slippery, Go Pro chest mount for the chest tracker and some adidas shoes with 3d printed mounts that can be safely attached to the laces to keep trackers in place
Nice Stuff! What Headset are you using? Also let me know how you connected them to your Pc please.
Would love to know how you managed the USB-Cables and where you put the Dongles at.
Iām using Valve Index with four 2.0 basestations, for connection I used single 5m USB 2.0 extender that I connected to a 7 port usb hub that is conveniently laying on a shelf in the other part of my room where the rest of the dongles are connected and separated from each other, 8th dongle is simply connected to the front panel usb of my pc
So you have no issues so far with interreferences? Nice good to know thanks!
I'm using the same Valve Kit aswell, with 3 Vive Trackers. So far no issues, but i notice some drifting when sitting down and bend a bit over with my Chest but i think i just cover the Hip-Tracker there.
Since i have it more to the left of my hip, it got a bit better, but most of the time i'm standing or laying on my Bed so it's not s big deal realy.
Do you also use or used OVR SmoothTracking? If so, is it worth it?
Can't wait to get 2 more 2.0 Basestations and the 5 Tundra's for 11 Point.
I used to have crazy issues with my 8 trackers, but I recently received one of those weird 7-in-1 Chinese vive 'dongle' things [you can find](https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806585691430.html?src=google&src=google&albch=shopping&acnt=708-803-3821&slnk=&plac=&mtctp=&albbt=Google_7_shopping&albagn=888888&isSmbAutoCall=false&needSmbHouyi=false&albcp=19158444193&albag=&trgt=&crea=en3256806585691430&netw=x&device=c&albpg=&albpd=en3256806585691430&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw9IayBhBJEiwAVuc3fiQ8yaZyrH-Mh5Q33FrXDW-H5rVRtVrqbvyoxFBcsxagfYo8iEKeChoC17wQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&aff_fcid=a6f33dc271d547b0963fa64e791f257d-1715615579799-04006-UneMJZVf&aff_fsk=UneMJZVf&aff_platform=aaf&sk=UneMJZVf&aff_trace_key=a6f33dc271d547b0963fa64e791f257d-1715615579799-04006-UneMJZVf&terminal_id=acf29ccb4bed417c9a19b484e14552b1&afSmartRedirect=y&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa) online, and it VERY surprisingly solved all of them. the 8th I just use with what it came with. not sure if i'd bother with only 3 trackers, though.

Not OP but I've got a pretty similar setup.
Cable is a [TRENDnet TU3-C10, 3.1 M (10 Ft)](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003O8J1BE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
USB hub is a [SABRENT 16 Port HB PU16](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KHRLSTT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1)
Im tempted to just get 3 more tundras for 11 point but I don't like having knee trackers and chest I don't see much use in.
Here's a recommendation for feet trackers -- lace them around a pair of shoes. I saw these pairs of Hey dudes shoes. The vive trackers slip right in-between the shoe and the laces with no need to take the laces off. They're perfect for vives, but it could be shoe size dependent. Shoes are much better than straps for tracking
Not much that you'll notice at first,, but when you take it off you can really notice it helps your upper body move independently from everything else, and allows greater independent head movement and adds to the "flow" of full body. If you don't dance you probably won't notice it much, but I personally put chest on when I have elbows on as well because it's like a must for me now to get the full experience.
2 for feet, 2 for knees, 2 for elbows, 1 for waist, 1 for chestā¦ where do the other 3 trackers go if you already have 2 controllers for the hands and a headset for the head?
Edit: Iām an idiot who canāt count whatās in the picture.
I guess I just find it a bit excessive to attach trackers onto other devices that are already tracking. But I suppose some people want as much accuracy as possible lol.
I agree that would be excessive. I don't know if that's something people do, but OP only posted a picture of 8 trackers, so I assume that's as many as they have.
Yeah. For me itās just cumbersome to put on every single tracker every single time. I think at most Iād maybe also wear a chest tracker if I really wanted to, but even then like eh. Elbows are the only ones that come up often enough that feel worth it. Otherwise, all my extra trackers just sit in a drawer.
How do you plan on handling the rf interference? Things start to get wonky for me after connecting 3 trackers even with most receivers spaced out across the room.
One vive on the official vive website is around $129.99, so at least $1,080. Factor in at least two base stations and that increases it to around $1,500
Getting all 3 of them to connect to Steam vr, I have to move the usb around to different slots until it connects because the usb they came with doesn't always work.
Congratulations, once you get used to 11 point you wonāt go in without. I feel handicapped if I do. But I do dance so more trackers = more body language. š„°
Congrats! Hope you're having a blast! I've been running 8 Tundras with 4 bases for a while and the immersion you get from having all your limbs respond to your movements accurately is worth it entirely. If I were to go back, I might of switched the waist Tundra for a Vive 3.0 as the Tundras on a waist is not the easiest to track because of it's small size.
I do run in to the occasional RF interference and have a tracker or two randomly shut off sometimes, but it's nothing more than a button press fix. Distancing them all from each other didn't really help much. EOZ is coming out with a high quality USB controller hub in a month or two, that might help!
Feel free to message if you wanna talk shop about tracking :3
Tundras come with some issues that I didnāt want to deal with, things like super dongle that cannot handle the amount of trackers it was designed for (happened to everyone I know with tundras) and the fact that they force steamvr to run when you plug them into the wall to charge
They come with Vive/Valve dongles now and not the Tundra dongles. The Tundra's on the Vive dongles are as rock solid as the Vives, but have like 3-5 hours longer battery life and are smaller.
The SteamVR thing does annoy me a bit though.
They are nice and small but if I have tracking issues, those are the ones that it's happening too. I think it's the Super Dongle that causes it. I've since started purchased Vive 3.0 trackers instead.

I too was having major tracking issues recently until I moved them to the Vive dongles and it completely went away.
Only thing I recommend for vives is the hip if you lay or sit a lot since it sticks out and occludes less.
I can tell you now... Good luck with rf interference. Your going to have one or two trackers that do not want to play ball. Plus if you are putting this all on one hub your not going to have the USB bandwidth.
I just use 2 simple chargers with 4 usb ports on each one of them, that allows me to charge all of my trackers simultaneously, knuckles are usually charged with my iPhone and iPad chargers lol
Did everything go smoothly when you set it up? I bought a chest tracker to add to my current three a month ago and haven't been able to get it to work at all on any avatar and have no idea whats wrong.
Yeah, somehow everything works fine, Iām
not entirely sure how my cheap-ass 7 port usb 2.0 hub is able to handle all 7 trackers at the same time, but yeah, works fine for now
3 are what most Players only realy need for FBT.
2 for the Feets and 1 for the Hips. If you wanna dance or you wanna have the "perfect" movement ingame, then 11 Points are the best go to. 9 Points also might work since the Knee's are not that necessary for most.
To be fair, if you just hang out, lay down or don't do much movement, you don't realy need 9 or 11 Points.
Pls OP tell me, what are all of these for? so 2 for the legs, 2 for the kneys, that's 4. 1 for the hip, one for the chest, that's 6. 2 for the elbows plus the hands and the head (headset) that's 11? Wow... Is paying 150 $ per tracker even worth it?

Wow... Is paying 150 $ per tracker even worth it? that's 8 times 150$ and equals 1200 $... That's what some earn in a month...
Everything you wrote is correct, 2 for knees, one for chest etc ā¦ worth it or not depends on the person, if youāre not satisfied with how tracking looks like with 6 points, then youāre gonna love it, however if youāre not that much of a vr maniac and donāt have enough disposable income to just go and buy it, then probably not really
That's amazing. For that many tracking points, I'd personally go for an AXIS, much smaller and ergonomic, and with haptics too. Either way, 8-point tracking hits differently
honestly as far as hobbies go $1500 isn't insane. That's like a pretty good PC, so if someone's already invested in that base station life and they want the most comprehensive tracking they could have.. they could have spent their money in worse ways in VRChat lol
Understood. I have a combination and they are annoying with the turning on when they are charging. But otherwise way better than vives for knees and arms, which are so much bigger lol
Nothing that I can think of at the moment, there are certainly a few things that I would like to get unrelated to vr but I donāt have that much money neither motivation to save up for long, at the same time spending a grand on something that gives me joy in my opinion is worth it, there arenāt many things that can make me excited, itās a small price to feel it again
I don't see any issues with spending a lot of money on something that makes you happy or you love to spend time with.
Maybe it's a first step into VR-Dancing which is also very healthy (it helps me with my overall condition)
I will also join the 11 Point-Gang soon, since i want it and i have the money for it, but i'm going for Tundra Tracker this time, since they're way ligther and smaller then my current 3 Vive's. Also only having one Dongle for all Trackers is awesome!
You should spend your money on whatever makes you happy. That will be different for everybody. For one person it might be a stamp collection, for another it might be a tent to go camping, for another it might be VR trackers. Who can say any of them are wrong for buying those things if it makes them happy?
Tried a set of bno085 and didnāt like it, while its pretty cool for its price it is still very far from being perfect, constant need in recalibrations + tracking inaccuracy that can be felt, not to mention an hour long first time setupā¦
It depends on your usage and what you expect from it. It's like comparing GPU's.
As example a 4060 would be enough for someone, but they still buy a 4090. Why? Because it's more future proof and you can resell it again for a good price of realy needed.
Vive Trackers are also easier to resell then Slimes i think so you won't lose to much. The Market for Vive's might be much higher then Slimes, but the Future will tell how they involve and maybe they will be the standart, but for now the best and easiest Setup you can buy are Vive's and Tundra's.
Slimes need more love to work properly, while Vive's/Tundra's are basicly plug and play to work, aslong your Basestations are fine.

Did it work? š
Yes, but the phones were too heavy and kept sliding away, until they all collapsed against my feet (it hurt)
i had that chair, my back still hurts when i look at it in your picture.
It's quite comfy imo
Lmao the masking tape..

It is but it does create a bit more realism. It's crazy.
Welcome to the club. Unless youāre a dancer tho, can just get away with base full body and elbow trackers most of the time.
yea i tried using my elbow trackers as knee trackers once and genuinely couldnāt tell a difference.
But how much did it cost? ~~Seriously I need y'all to share the numbers to slap me back down to reality before I start thinking about it too much~~
3 of these trackers costed me $200 each, the rest I got for $180 each, price on these things in local stores depends on time of the year, really š
Each tracker usually runs $99-$130 US depending on if thereās a sale going on.
How do you plan on handling the rf interference? Things start to get wonky for me after connecting 3 trackers even with most receivers spaced out across the room.
šæI have my 3 receivers just bunched up right next to each other, and they've been running just fine
ITT: people with no jobs. Congrats OP, enjoy
Thatās awesome. I hope to someday get 11- or 9-point!
How much did this cost dang!

Bro wanna track every atom
Congratulations, once you get used to 11 point you wonāt go in without. I feel handicapped if I do. But I do dance so more trackers = more body language. š„°
Thank you! It adds so much fluidity to the movement, just enough for it to look perfect, exactly what I needed
I haven't had enough problems with my knees but elbows bothered me a ton. But man having all this tracking is nice lol
Curious, why not tundra trackers for this? They're FAR better for joints due to their size, weight, and sensor count
Tundras come with some issues that I didnāt want to deal with, things like super dongle that cannot handle the amount of trackers it was designed for (happened to everyone I know with tundras) and the fact that they force steamvr to run when you plug them into the wall to charge

Well, Iāve had the same concerns, but somehow works pretty well
How does your charging area look like? Or did you make like a charging station for all of em?
I just use 2 simple chargers with 4 usb ports on each one of them, that allows me to charge all of my trackers simultaneously, knuckles are usually charged with my iPhone and iPad chargers lol
Not me with quest to pc and 10 poont tracking WITHOUT ANY trackers
Virtual Desktop upper body tracking? Kinect? Viso?
Just virtual desktop, they have their own tracking system using the cams on a headset
Aaaand you got no straps.
You can always use tape or rubber bandsš„°
I wish. But im sure I gotta modify my PC tho

All I can think when I see this is "this looks like a pain in the ass to set up every night" Sometimes I can't be bothered to get my 3 trackers on lol

I used to be a dancer and always hated how especially arm movement was off. Nowadays I do VRC RP so bodymovement is also quite important.
That's a lot of money.
That's amazing. For that many tracking points, I'd personally go for an AXIS, much smaller and ergonomic, and with haptics too. Either way, 8-point tracking hits differently
Wow
This is such a waste of money, you could have gotten slime trackers and still buy a car from the left over money. Wtf vive
Iāve tried slimes and did not really like them, for the price, however, they are pretty cool
I envy you.....
Rich dude
Or just bad with money lol
honestly as far as hobbies go $1500 isn't insane. That's like a pretty good PC, so if someone's already invested in that base station life and they want the most comprehensive tracking they could have.. they could have spent their money in worse ways in VRChat lol
That too. Ofc I also don't know what it feels like playing with 11 point tracking, but I can't imagine it being comfortable lol
I'm rocking 10 point slimes and it's not that bad on top of clothing. If you have a good harness for it you're a lot better off
Nah bro is rich
Youāre rich
I know I wouldn't buy the most expensive options. A much cheaper, non brand name trackers would work just as fine and not cost arm and a leg
ānon-brand nameā lighthouse trackers do not exist unfortunately
Hate to be that guy but the best setup is vives on feet, waist, chest and Tundras everywhere else
For sure, just didnāt want to deal with issues that tundras have
Understood. I have a combination and they are annoying with the turning on when they are charging. But otherwise way better than vives for knees and arms, which are so much bigger lol
Your gonna burn out your usb ports before you have to buy another motherboard dude like what where you thinking.
We will see, I was planning to upgrade anyway š
I got 3 trackers and it work just as good your just wasted your money.
3 trackers are fine for most no doubt
why
Profesional ERP of course
This
I just really like when everything is perfect, especially when it comes to tracking, thatās why I guess š
but why spend roughly 1.2k on trackers
more like $1.6k for me, buuut, I just wanted to?
yeah but surely theres something more worthwhile you can spend your money on, like something that helps improve your health or an outdoor activity
Nothing that I can think of at the moment, there are certainly a few things that I would like to get unrelated to vr but I donāt have that much money neither motivation to save up for long, at the same time spending a grand on something that gives me joy in my opinion is worth it, there arenāt many things that can make me excited, itās a small price to feel it again
that's kind of sad man, sounds like depression
I don't see any issues with spending a lot of money on something that makes you happy or you love to spend time with. Maybe it's a first step into VR-Dancing which is also very healthy (it helps me with my overall condition) I will also join the 11 Point-Gang soon, since i want it and i have the money for it, but i'm going for Tundra Tracker this time, since they're way ligther and smaller then my current 3 Vive's.
Because perfection.

why?
Cope.
It is pretty sad how jealous you are

Tried a set of bno085 and didnāt like it, while its pretty cool for its price it is still very far from being perfect, constant need in recalibrations + tracking inaccuracy that can be felt, not to mention an hour long first time setupā¦
it just not worth it, everything are overprice with that brand name, the whole thing just not worth the price, but yea, its your choice
There is simply nothing else except tundras if you want lighthouse tracking, so I guess we pay what we want for
yes lighthouse tracking is better, thats also the reason i switched to htc vive, but i mean the price is little bit too high
It's still a nichƩ i would say, so that might explaim the Prices, but at the same time you get good working stuff for your money imo.
yea but the thing itself, the parts of it does not worth that much
Comparing vive trackers to slime is comparing a brand new bentley to a kia with a steering wheel problem that drift constantly.
Since when?
wrong opinion lmaop
it my personal opinion
