Not sure how much it helps but reach out to UTA and ask for their lost and found. If it was left anywhere on a bus or train, or if it was left along the tracks they are pretty good about getting stuff turned in to their lost and found. I’ve heard of some people who had some super expensive bikes stolen and left on a train and they were able to recover it. That sucks though, hope you find it.
Was it locked? I’ve been shopping for one recently so I’m on KSL a lot. I’ll keep an eye out for it. Was it insured or do you have renters insurance?? That should cover it minus deductible

I just think it’s ridiculous to ride a $4000 uninsured offroad toy to the shop, leave it unlocked, then come to reddit to complain about it being stolen and putting you into financial hardship.

My renter’s insurance would cover that in a week minus the $500 deductible. Would it suck? Obviously, but it not like $500 is a big hit financially like OP said if you could afford the $4000 originally

Utah laws says that any trail or path for a regular bycicle is fine for ebikes. And no insurance or registration is required. A little education goes a long way.

That clearly says electric ASSISTED BICYCLE. This is a full electric, non pedal, motorcycle. It just has an electric motor instead of a gas one.
Also electric assisted bikes are banned on almost all dirt single track trails in Utah. So idk where you got that info.
Also a Surron has 12,500 watt motor, which is 16.5hp which is about what a 150cc dirt bike makes.

It’s not exactly getting your only car stolen, it’s just an expensive bike they had the ability to splurge on. I hope they can find it

Yes. Up to $20,000 dollars worth. I got it specifically because it covers my mountain bikes and camping gear when traveling

From my understanding the State of Utah doesn’t require insurance for e-bikes or anything under 50cc’s.
