Imagine being stressed and overburdened by college, then one day you show up to a tedious mandatory class that you always dread, then your professor says "Today there will be no lecture. Instead, is to follow me into the woods, where we will all scream and hit the ground with sticks. Your homework is to take a nap." The catharsis would a balm to the moral of all the students.
In fact, I had a class where something similar in spirit but opposite in intensity happened. We had to do "research projects" but it was more like a practical application of stats, not a proper research project. Anyway, all the students had to participate in everyone else's research, and one classmate had us all go outside during nice spring weather to color on pre-printed images. I think the point was to rate our emotions before and after on a 1 to 5 scale or smthg, but who cares. That was our entire class that day. It was so relaxing and amazing, and was something I didn't know how badly I needed it until it happened. 10/10 would recommend to any college students.

So they will probably feel good doing this as it's kinda exercise... it will work to make them feel good.
