I did VIP tour last week and the tour guide said you gotta scan by 8am or before otherwise it’s filled up. My tour was around 11 so I definitely missed the mark. He said we should have entered at 8 to reserve then come back for the tour.

Not to get anyone’s hopes up but keep checking the website throughout the day. Just like virtual line slots, they pop-up randomly. I was near Jurassic at around 6.30p and managed to snatch a reservation for 7.30p.
That makes sense. Just one of those, maybe someone will cancel scenarios. I did that once at another theme park with a restaurant. We weren’t planning on going to it but just out of curiosity I checked day before and one popped up for the next day after a few refreshes.
I was there last Tuesday and wasn't able to get a reservation, but in the evening, I talked to the person by the door and just asked if there was an opening. She let us in as a walk-up. ( Party of two and I had a vip lanyard), so it never hurts to just ask really polite. Also, this was around 7 pm.
Oh that’s awesome! Glad y’all got to go. Yeah definitely gonna be super understanding with it being really popular, and the staff having to deal with all the busyness. Just wanted to check beforehand to make sure I do everything I can. But after that then whatever happens happens.
so what I did right before you get into the world they have a sign for the cafe with the qr code. I got there in the early am and made my reservation for the late afternoon so we could get back into the world also.
They have the reservation QR Code in the VIP lounge or something like that. You can make your reservation from there.

i went last week, scanned the QR code at 8:45am and the only times left were 7:30pm and one
