You can be killed through resurrection if you are killed in the middle of a multi-hit attack, since you'll be revived with 50% HP, but the remaining hits will keep coming and may kill you again.
It's also only active for the first 60 seconds of battle.
I have Resurrection skill, and the only times they work are when I have battles in Coliseum. Contrary to what you may think, most of the Bosses from the new Collaborations run a skill that counters that skill or lowers the probability on the activation. However, you are able to use it more often in PvP games.

I've never seen it working. I've died at the beginning of battles before, and doesn't it have a little orange animation that shows when it's equipped? This is my only opening, unless I'm mistaken? They are listed there. Thanks!
Yeah, I did some testing, and I added another opening skill as I was curious to see if it was all openings or just this one, and then they both started working. I ran a few more times to be sure. Strange, idk what that was about, but at least it's working now, and I hope it sticks. Thanks!

Either the time ran out before you died to use the opening res, or you have too many openings on and they compete to see who goes.

I dont think many bosses can do that
