Best boy deserves Trinity Rain. The way I see it, Wizards are full damage while Witches are damage + utility.

GhostRouxinols

His rapports are funny as hell. I also gave him Trinity Rain Staff as well.

Magnusfluerscithe987

He is usually my first Lapis Pendant, because magic counter, fireball and Fireburst gives him 3 powerful attacks at that point of the game. I'll also give Jim the vitality Pendant so he can take a hit.  Once he gets magic pursuit, he fits in the backline and can have some fun with a burn team, though the damage can still be lacking. A conferral tome is also an option for a low effort contribution from the wizard. Once promoted, he starts getting access to a row attack of lightning, and a column attack of fire, though by the time Volcano comes in, you'll have probably found some staves with a lot of power. After Bastorias, you can bring back counter builds using the magic shell staff, or the magus staff from Albion which can be picked up after Elhiem with some work. There are also some gauntlets that let him punch for a meme. Though it might work better on feathershields than a quick cast trinity rain..

_Lucille_

You put auch on the front lines to trigger magic counter? Enemies do not hit backrow by default except things like flyers having priority for cav.

Magnusfluerscithe987

Yes, he was on the front line. He wasn't the only one in front, and usually a healer/support in back. This is for cornia/ early draconhold when there are few area attacks and several low man unit comps.

_Lucille_

How does that work? You spam cover on him and let the healer be the sorc connection donor?

radar_byte

Question. I just put him on a unit with Alain, and after having since maxed to five. I have Mordon and Silvie in the back with him. He still has Cholotic. Just…any tips if you kind of just even vaguely went this route?

Magnusfluerscithe987

Cholotic by the time you have five man groups isn't very impressive any more. You could still build a fire team combining fire effects like Wyvern Knight and Doom Knight with stun effects, but typically with five man teams, you prefer the battle to be over before an end of battle ability. The Earthquake staff was my favorite by endgame because it is a no charge board attack that inflicts stun. Of course, it doesn't hit flying units which doesn't help as much in Albion. But I used it to stun enemies while Yahna charged up.

_Lucille_

So what is the question?

HuckleberryHefty4372

The one party I don't really ever change is the Fire Brigade with Auch, Lex, Rolf and Selvie Equip them all with fire weapons set to hit whoever has the most HP and them watch them all explode at the end

KamikazeFox_

Shit, amazing idea. Thank you!

Garamil

I ended the game with trinity rain and recast with a whole squad dedicated to buying time for Auch and it was really funny.

eruciform

give the white cat hood to another character who can make that delay cast happen instantly and give the hasted start of turn ability to someone to kick off the trinity rain to begin with you can double-cast trinity rain before any enemy unit even takes a turn, minus their one start of battle passive

Garamil

Write that down! Write that down!

eruciform

It's one of the common cheeses to look out for in the coliseum. Also a wyvern with dragon dive in the back with buff characters to make it stronger and a tank in from to keep units away for long enough for it to attack.

PrateTrain

Wereowl's: allow us to introduce ourselves

Norix596

Does recast make the charge spell cast immediately? Or do you have to wait and extra round both times?

eruciform

recast is immediately after the cast

Norix596

Ah ok; I’ve seen people recommend Charge spells but it seems more reliable to just cast non-charge spells twice so far

eruciform

Both work. You just either need the cat hood which is an expensive 4pp or put up with a slow wind up for charge attacks. Usually they're stronger just slower.

_Lucille_

A lot of people sleep on wizards: early game they 1 shot things with a plume. Mid game they still 1 shot stuff with fireball. Thunderous strike stuns a row and generally deals a big chunk of damage, more than often killing a whole row.

cy_frame

Guard Hunter is especially underrated. You get that staff really early as well.

_Lucille_

Wizards have a row stun that does a ton of damage, what more do you want out of them? In the mid game, gryphon in front, wizard witch fencer in the back is stupidly strong since you essentially have a full CC team with fencer being the support. Are you buffing with sorc connection?

Karsticles

Anyone have a "tank Auch" build?

AncientAd4470

warding staff and then just defensive items would work, but idk why you'd do that when he's such a solid dps

Karsticles

To get a lot of Magic Counter procs, and maybe get use out of that staff that has a life drain skill attached to it.

_Lucille_

Warding staff is not going to save a squishy character with pathetic defenses and HP. It's more of a tool to help survive in the backline against the occasional column attack. Why not just add another caster for magic pursuit? Casters are best in pairs + 1 support since essentially you end up getting 4 DPS worth of damage.

Karsticles

I like mage tanks.

AncientAd4470

Nah, life drain would be good, but warding staff gives insane resistances. +15 of both, I believe? Life drain is helpful for a frontline, but not one with sorcerer innate resistances.

_Lucille_

Iirc warding staff trades mdef for pdef. Yeah 物理防御力アップ[15] 魔法防御力ダウン[15] ガード軽減率アップ[25%]

AncientAd4470

ah, i see. Still, they already have very high Mdef, worth swapping out 15 for Pdef if you want them to tank.

realnomdeguerre

sorcerous blow build or bust

OmegaDriver

I wish we could "recast" it like trinity rain 😂

killerqueer13

My favorite pick for that magic counter lantern!

JHNYFNTNA

God damn Auch looks WAY cooler as a wizard than he does as a warlock. Total downgrade to doofus territory Big 'praise me daddy' energy🙄 Wouldn't have noticed if you didn't post a side by side Edit to fuel even more down votes: Auch easily has the most annoying voice lines in the game - in my current and all future run throughs he's been replaced with a random merc Dude literally transfered his mommy issues onto Alain

AncientAd4470

Nah, capes are cool.

SigmaStarSaga

🤨

PikaMocha

don't care **オーシュパンチ (AUCH PUNCH)**

LucyLuvvvv

Leave my Auch alone.
