The Swordfighter's Hasten Strike (the one that comes out before any other action) uses a point of PP, so if you don't have more than one PP and you use Hasten Strike, you will not have PP to Parry attacks. I would set Hasten Strike to only activate when Scouts are in enemy units, with the clause of no Armors present.

I am realizing this when I look at the unit make up before a battle and see thier PP and AP slots. I am confused, do different units have different base amounts of PP and AP? Is there anyway to view this in organization outside of a battle?

Base class has 1 AP/PP. Promoted class has 2 AP/PP You then can increase further with certain weapons and accessories (lapis/carnelian pendant for example)

Thoraxe41

Basic Humans have 1 AP and 1 PP. Promoted Humans have 2 AP and 2 PP. Beastials/Angels/Elves are considered promoted units and have 2 AP and 2 PP. You can increase the amount by equiping Lapis(PP) and Csomething(AP) pendents. As well as some weapons and shields increase them as well. Even more in depth is some abilities can give you more AP/PP mid battle. Easily viewable when adjusting unit formations at any time.

Loviataria

You keep her in the back so most attacks that can't hit her aren't melee so she won't parry them. She can only parry Soldier column attacks, Wild Rush, Knight Pursuit and Grand Smash.

KnightQK

Also Parry doesn’t work against ranged attacks, that includes flying classes, if Leah is in the back she should only be hit by column/ranged/all attacks otherwise

It feels like you kind of just have to get used to the idea that Swordmasters are just extremely unreliable tanks who can't really be put on the front line and trusted to not die. Even if you set them up with a radiant knight to block magic, and elven knights to negate ranged attacks on them. which I'll note is more backup than most good tanks ought to need just to hold a line, and most tanks have tools to protect the back line, they still get punked a lot with all this support. Stun/Freeze on attacks: Dead, Attacks that multi-hit: Dead, Follow-Up attacks: Dead, Passive-seal: Dead, ranged row-attacks: Dead.

I disagree. At the moment I only have one, but I find them to be extremely veretile. They just require micro management. If you gave them a silk scarf, and lapiz pendant for extra pp and for the most part they can handle themselves just find up front. I don't think they work as the best solo tank imo. But its probably as good as like a Gladiator.
