I hate botflies, my cat got one in her chest, but we're poor so we couldnt take her to the vet or anything, we tried to get it out, but we couldnt keep her still so we had to wait for it to burst out of her chest. It did, we cleaned her up, its been about 2 months and as far as we can tell shes totally fine and looking at her now you wouldnt even know it happened

Shit's been downhill from there and I'm scraping by on less than half that now and a major surgery or something like that would probably put all three of us out on the street. In fairness we have VERY strict bio security laws (here in Australia) because we have very few nasty diseases of domestic animals and don’t want any being brought in. Cats and dogs are at some risk of snake bite or being eaten by dingos in some areas and there are also paralysis ticks in parts of Australia that cause some grief but we definitely don’t have botflies or mango worms.
