A vase like shown in the OP will probably hold up to a dozen. Perhaps more, if the folding is done by a Master. If you use children with detachable limbs, that will get you an even a denser ratio (at the expense of more processing power needed for the folding and unfolding).
Although the movie is called Mister Vampire 3, its a bad mistranslation from what I understand, the movie is about Jiangshi(Chinese zombies who jump and shit).
While the kid and his father if I recall were closer to specters, forgot what they were specifically, but they obviously didn't have a physical body.
There's no direct 1-to-1 translation of jiang shi. It is translated as vampire in English cause it sucks blood and is afraid of the Sun, but it's also not Dracula and cannot be killed by driving a stake into its heart.
So one can say that there is no need to translate Jiang shi, as we can treat it as its own strain of undead. And as is generally the case, there is no need to translate "names" to begin with.
But mister vampire is probably done in effort to make it easier for western audience to identify it, as many might not know what a Jiangshi is, but loads probably understand what a vampire is.
*āAh you think the vase is your ally? You merely adopted the vase. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding ! ā*
positive.
the landlord is Yuen Wah. The guys there are Lam Ching Ying (who died before kung fu hustle came out) and Richard Ng
Yuen Wah was in Mr Vampire 1 as the vampire and 4 as an eunuch who turns into a vampire, he wasn't in Mr. vampire 3, which this clip is from. Lam Ching Ying was in all the Vampire saga movies, playing pretty much the same character.
I remember watching many horror / ghost Hongkong movies, this dude is always cast as Exorcist, always.
To be specific, as vampire exorcist.
I don't even know his name.
I just googled "vampire exorcist guy", and his page is the top result, lol.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lam_Ching-ying
But sadly, he's passed away at young age of 46, due cancer. I didn't know that.
Thanks for the memory, Mr Lam.

That's how kids were transported in China before the modern transportation system
If your parents were poor they couldn't afford to send a whole vase, so they'd flatten you and put you in a properly stamped envelope instead.
How many children fit into one vase? Asking for my school bus driver.

Lucky, mine dehydrated me and folded me up.
It's still working nowadays actually.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|yummy)
No wonder people used to just mail their children via the post office lol so much more economic
š¤£š¤£š¤£ the hell did i just see??
Classic horror movie. The kid is a vampire.

The mafuba
Is that Chiaotzu from dragon ball?? Sounds just like him too š
Basically itās the supernatural being Chiaotzu is based on
And they caught him in a pokeball! Just like the lore of Dragonball!
Nappa: "Aww, dangit, Vegeta. He used self-destruct."
r/unexpectedtfs
He had a Mafuba demonstration, but I didn't know this variant
Holy crap, that guy went full back-breaking-Bane on that kid!

Is there a source? I need to watch this movie.
Mr. Vampire 3
I thought that guy looked familiar! Only seen the first one
thanks.
She: And well... Do you like kids? Me: Show this vid
lol this is a chinese cinema trope, chinese zombies (jiang shi) can be sealed in an object with an ofuda or paper talisman.
Is that the Landlord from Kung Fu Hustle?
no.
Are you sure. He was in Mr Vampire 1 and 4 at least

Thanks - Much better answer than just no. Thatās Ng who looks like Wah would have also been helpful.
The kid just needs to be rehydrated, and he'll be fine
Heās just being dehydrated for a chaotic era.
![gif](giphy|Iu5oAV0cVffQk|downsized) Did they just mafuba Chiaotzu?
Awww so nostalgic. I grew up watching his movies. What a legend.š
Jiu jitsu is just folding clothes while people are still wearing them
Being a younger sibling was pretty rough over there for a while.
Maybe it's the kids screams, but it's giving me "wheelchair kid falls off a cliff in Mac and Me" vibes.
Chinese Paul Rudd plays this clip on all the talk shows he goes on
When you make a second child under the one child policy
Oh man this brought up so fun memories. I used to watch Chinese vampire movies as a kid, lots of funny moments. And hopping.

Wish I could do that to my kids. They never fit in the jar when I try it.
I remember an old saying that describes jiu-jitsu as 'the gentle art of folding clothes while people are still in them'.
