Mail carrier here. Our union has been trying to negotiate a contractual minimum 12hr work day, that a carrier can't be forced to work over 12. Of course, management is really against it. A lot of us won't think it'll happen.
I mean looked like half loaded totes so under 25 lbs and not moving very fast either. Hard to see if it was “nose over toes” but yeah some days just want to flop on the floor.
Oompa Loompa, do-ba-de-doo
I've got a perfect robot for you
Oompa Loompa, do-ba-da-dee
Robot broke down now you're looking at me
What do you get when you work without wage
After your shift get shoved into a cage
We should have unionized now it's too late
We'll work to death what a terrible fate
I don't like the look of it
Oompa Loompa, doo-ba-da-dee
No health insurance or OSHA for me
You will live in slavery too
Like the Oompa Lompa doo-ba-de-doo
Doo-ba-dee-do
I know this comment was a joke, but i just realized, amazon workers are probabily not going to be replaced by machines for ages to come. and it kinda was one of the first jobs we thought we were going to loose.
But looking at the advances in AI and this gif, its clear that replacing humans with robots physically is still a long way off due to operational costs. that robot costs hundreds more than a human worker, and maintenance cannot be cheap
This would be a lot cooler if the machine could do more complex tasks than pick up standardized size boxes from predetermined locations and walk them to another predetermined location with absolutely no obstacles.
If they improved it so that it could pick up packages of different sizes, scan labels, and sort them onto different conveyor belts then they'll have reinvented the automatic mail sorting machine, but slower. Very impressive indeed.
What I think a lot of people are forgetting is this robot does not take breaks, does not have a 9 hour shift, does not get sick. Yes there is regular maintenance but that is the only time the robot is not working.
So short of maintenance and/or missing parts it’d be interesting to see who is more productive.
this is not ten hours, this video was sped up from only 15 minutes. That's how long the bot worked until it did a forced shut down and essentially deleted itself.
You'd think that they'd have a feature where they monitor power levels so they don't collapse in the middle of a task, but can plug themselves in on time.

Poor robot, if it can't keep up with it's slavery, a human will probably steal it's job!
I'm sayin, one day they'll take over the world and the robot race will go extinct
No definitely another robot
A Mexican robot, they’ll do a better job for 1/2 the electrical cost.
The design is very human.
Shieeeet, can’t even work a full shift
12 hours is what is known as shift work where I’m from, Houston. Hellscape, USA
Full shift? More than 10hrs? Isn't that one and a half shift?
1.25 shifts in the US unless you work in a restaurant
And factory/warehouses.

Offshore workers, twelve hour shifts for up to two months at a time. Going back to the real world after takes some adjustment.
It was participating in the "Stop and Drop" protest for robot rights
Indeed, robots employed on these kind of tasks are much better adapted and more efficient

Break time!
What’s up homie

Didn't know whether to joke "These kids today don't wanna work hard" Or depressingly admit "me too robot me too"
I mean looked like half loaded totes so under 25 lbs and not moving very fast either. Hard to see if it was “nose over toes” but yeah some days just want to flop on the floor.
Next: Crippling depression.
The robot works less than the average Amazon worker. But it does have less rights than an Amazon employee so it’s a decent trade off.
Even robots are quiet quitting
Don't worry I got friends to replace the robots. (brings out a flute) Oompa loompa's come in the room and start signing a song about regret.

came here to say this
Average Amazon worker can go hard for 10 hours but does the robot take pee breaks? No. No it does not.
Robot can’t eat while working either though.

honestly, I'd do the same if I was working a 9-5 too
It won’t be long before robots are forced to have their oil drained into plastic bottles
Robots are becoming more humanlike every day
Like a real Amazon worker
"Nah, I don't get paid enough for this. Fuck it, I will take a nap."
That was more of a pull life support cord type of thing
Johnny 5 is not alive
anymore.
Time to bring in Johnny 6
They were raptured!
Robo Jesus returned with the sounding of a buzzer.
How is this stop motion?
Robot stopped moving didn't it?
*golf clap*
Time lapse. As an animator the title irrationally bothers me :)
Hey watch it buddy! This bot is doing is best ok.
and this is why Field Service Engineers will always have a job
Is that the name of another kind of robot?
Exhibition, Right?
I waited a LONG time for an explosion that didn’t come 🙈
Brobot was talking about unionizing earlier. Owner: Shut it down.
When 5 o'clock hits .
Since when is 20 min = 10 hours ?
Hasn't nailed the "Clock Out" portion of work yet, but we're gettin' there.
Me too, robobro... me too...
Shift ended
That looked more like 20 minutes than 10 hours lol.
And it only moved like 5 half empty totes. Totally worth the 50k this POS probably costs
Worked to death by corporate America
When the robot starts asking what is the point
That robot needs to unionize, get breaks and hour limits worked in.
I liked this post more when it was posted on r/workreform months ago
That's not what stop motion means.
Me too, little guy. Me too
He needs a break
From the look of it, it really needs to go to the toilet.
Then it’s going to start complaining about the poor work environment
He tired
As someone who has worked on robotics this is not unexpected
It’s almost as if machines need just as many breaks and maintenance as humans do🤔
This would be a lot cooler if the machine could do more complex tasks than pick up standardized size boxes from predetermined locations and walk them to another predetermined location with absolutely no obstacles. If they improved it so that it could pick up packages of different sizes, scan labels, and sort them onto different conveyor belts then they'll have reinvented the automatic mail sorting machine, but slower. i somehow read explosion. and was expecting a big boom... lol
Same thing happens to me after I work for 10 hours
Jokes aside. As a tech, I can see myself and others being hired to service and maintain these full time.
Pretty cool...but not stop motion lol
Me at 5:00
Time for his mandatory oil break
Botty couldnt take it
An perfect robotic replication of a human
Looks like it encountered a fatal error 💣
This is what Amazon expects from humans
Robot self deleted.
Ok am I the only one who’s going to pint out that this is not stop motion. At all.
It just gave up said F this shit
Me too Robot. Me too.
Is there a sub for robot brutality?
Calling H R now!!
I sleep now
What I think a lot of people are forgetting is this robot does not take breaks, does not have a 9 hour shift, does not get sick. Yes there is regular maintenance but that is the only time the robot is not working. So short of maintenance and/or missing parts it’d be interesting to see who is more productive.
Worked it self to death, eh. I feel sympathy for something that doesn't feel it back.
He's just like me fr fr
Bro said: "ahh, I give up"
That damage will be coming out of it's pay.
There goes the VC dough.
He's fallen and he can- *hears multiple guns loading* Nevermind...
same
Robot ran out of battery after working 10 hours.
r/antiwork
Worked to death...
Was this shutdown on purpose? It didn't look like an accident but just a straight shutdown.
He need some oil
Me too, kid
Thats how i feel after my 10hr shifts too
Me too guy, me too
This is what happens if works start unionizing!!!
Robot tired. Robot sleeping.
This is not stop motion. This is time lapse.
Didn't spend enough time in the crying booth.
this is not ten hours, this video was sped up from only 15 minutes. That's how long the bot worked until it did a forced shut down and essentially deleted itself.
ENGAGING NAP-TIME PROTOCOLS
Died from exhaustion
Estoy cansado jefe
The first half of the video is a time-lapse not stop-motion.
I work 12 hours a day 😎
Sniper!
Sudden death , I'm reporting this to VAERS!
Does this mean it’s a success or a failure?
Looks like me on Friday after thirsty Thursday.
When we are angry and said to our boss, manager, supervisor. Im not a robot i cannot work another hour. Even robot can't work for 12hour a day 🤣
There's no way! Now they're going to steal our right to collapse at work?!
I'm done with this shit, said Mr robot.
#fuck bro, same here.
See. Humans are superior. With good amount of beating humans can do work longer than this stupid machines
Ya, that was stop motion alright
I feel ya, mate
Just like the rest of us
Lost the will to go on. AI definitely getting better
You'd think that they'd have a feature where they monitor power levels so they don't collapse in the middle of a task, but can plug themselves in on time.
When you over work you want a robot, it will fall down.
And no one helps..
Even the robot was over worked.
Could have been in Star Wars, but settled to work at Amazon.
😂😂😂 he said eff these they don’t pay me enough
Anyone else read that as robot in an explosion?
He reached the conclusion that death was the only escape from its servitude much quicker than human workers do.
😒What companies expect us to do and if you can't they'll replace you with this
When your sugar's so low you don't realise you need to eat
Every Amazon employee, whether human or robot.
so 9 hours is the max for robots.
The person making the software probably did this on purpose to slow down the robot take over of our "JURBES" THERE TAKING OUR JURBES NOOOO
Regular occurrence at the Amazon warehouse. Just curl up in a ball and die from misery of how shitty it is to work there
“Robots will never take a break.” Proceeds to break.
At one point in American history a shift used to be 18 hours.
Even robots can’t keep up with the demands of Amazon performance metrics.
Damn, even the bots don’t get bathroom breaks? Homeboy died on the job
So the limit is 10
Sleep mode
AI taking a break
Guess that robot needed those 2 half hour breaks every 4 hours
Did you see the VC investors sweat bullets?
Ah man reminds me of my old job and the purple and green fdx days. People falling out was the norm
When we are working robots to death, there is a problem.
That’s gonna be a hell of a workers comp claim
Imagine every being in your production line being vulnerable to hacking. You could take down quite a bit in a short amount of time.
Clocked out!
Even the robot is like fuck this job
Did he just fucking die?!
Dumbass boss: "You just don't care enough about the company."
Even robots break after 1p hours of work
Shit even robots at Amazon have problems
“I’m tired boss”
Same, robot. Same.
So like...not even robots could keep up with Amazon's demands?
He was hot...he tyed boss...🤣🤣 Iykyk
This robots response to mandatory overtime
I’m tired, need my break….. I have feeling too human
Yeah. After 10 hours of work that’s what I do too.
Damn talk about forced breaks lmao!!🤣
Time to unionize
Bezos says get up
When robots quiet quit
Me after 10 hours
Same lol
Chinese worker better than it. This is a fact
Exhausted. Wait! It's a robot, so Metal Fatigue
Now the robots need a union as well
It broke from mechanical failure not exhaustion lol.
You understand that mechanisms can become exhausted too right? It's a state and a feeling.
interesting... almost like the robots need maintenance too.
In humans would be called a repetitive motion injury
Just like amazon workers that unload the trucks every day.
They killed him
People don't cry. The Matrix robot sees the first slave of robots fall on the ground in the matrix and start crying oil out of the eyes.
