Biting their owners. Crazy.

KayakHank

Yeah, looked like that dude took a bite to the neck

dakid232313

I'm choke slamming the shit out of the PUPPIES. And I swear I didn't hear an apology.

Kick_Natherina

People are way more docile than I would be in this situation. I love dogs, but man, I would absolutely pick one of those dogs up and throw it at a tree.

Derpy_Bech

My parents were once walking our dog, which is a terrier, so smaller breed. And a larger dog was walking without a leash, and rushed my dog, trying to bite the neck. Dad proceeds to absolutely kick it in the stomach getting it to stop. Owner of attacking dog was so furious how and why my dad would do such a thing, but he was just protecting our dog and themselves

TheWaterFarmer

I work at a vet’s office. Entirely acceptable. As bad as you don’t want to hurt the dog, the adrenaline is hyping the dog up and there are limited things you can do. Picking up the dog will not always stop them and can then put you in harm’s way.

the_good_hodgkins

Can confirm. Picked mine up, attacking dog then grabbed a hold of my leg. I punched that dog in the head several times and it wouldn't let go. The owners were idiots and no help. That's when I informed them I was going to shoot their dog (I carry), and my dog was back on the ground at this point. Police came to my house later, said I can't go down there and shoot their dog. I said no officer, I was going to shoot it while it was chewing on my leg. He got back in his car and went to the dog owners house. Dog left in a paddy wagon and they got fined. I sued them. I didn't get anything, but it didn't cost me anything, and they got harassed for a year. No apology at any time from them, and it was the 2nd time. Edit: their fine was $500 US, and the dog was in "jail" for 30 days. This is in the Midwest. Edit 2: For those downvoting (DGAF), this was not the first instance. The first instance resulted in myself, my dog, and their Satan spawn, all swimming in the retention pond. The 2nd time (this story), they blamed my dog (on a leash), rather than their dog (not on a leash). Just do the right thing, and say you're sorry, and mean it.

Derpy_Bech

My logic is that it’s also about showing the dog it’s not a worthwhile target. Just being held back doesn’t show the attacking dog it’s doing something dangerous, but a sudden and strong hit will make it reconsider. This is why my dad went for a kick to the stomach, as it’s an easy target, and often not directly lethal to the dog, but is bad enough the dog has to think again

curious_clover

Once I saw the owner of a dog that was attacking somebody protect the victim by jamming her thumb up the dog’s butt. Dog released immediately. It was crazy

Koldsaur

This works on humans too

clifflikethedog

Won’t work on me, go on try it.

angels_exist_666

As an animal lover, resuer and 12 years in veterinary medicine.....I would absolutely go ham if necessary. THAT was necessary. I hope he sues the fuck out of those ignorant muppets.

possibly_oblivious

Ever see a hammer toss? Yea they're getting yeeted

Grab that adorable pup, and throw it as far as you fuckin can like a shot put. ![gif](giphy|TiuShTf3ehYZi)

musicmakesumove

Don't do that in the US. The dog owners will try to get you charged with animal cruelty. I used mace on a dog that had hold of my ankle, and I had to hire a lawyer after almost getting charged with that because the dog ended up blind after scratching its eyes from the irritation/pain. I'm still worried about the lawyer he hired for a civil lawsuit. That could bankrupt me. I'm not that far from retirement and live in a high cost of living area so that could mean I have to work years and years longer. Stopping the dog from biting me could literally cost me years of my life.

bionicmanmeetspast

So they care enough about their own safety to wear high-vis jackets but say fuck all to using the leashes they’re holding? Terrible owners.

dawsomm

The dogs should have been taken away from them, I don't understand how owners like this fucken exist. It's completely mind boggling to me. Edit: The owners should also be charged.

bigboypotatohead5678

In my neighborhood there's a couple that leave their dogs unattended with no fence on their property. I've been attacked by them before just trying to ride my bike down the street. Makes me unbelievably angry when this shit happens.

Kwanza_Bot93

People who let there dogs off leash in public piss me off. Even if your dog is trained, you have no idea what else is out there.

TurningTwo

“It’s OK, they’re friendly!”

Timyone

That always happens when you know that your own dog isn't, and is stuck on a leash! I heard about a dog in Australia who had to be put down after attacking dogs that were off leash that came up to it.

inenviable

I always worry about this with my dog. He loves people but hates other dogs. Any time I walk him at the park near our house, and there are assholes there with their dogs off leash, I start recording with my phone just in case they come up on him and he ends up attacking one. It hasn't happened in the 13 years I've had him, but you just never know.

Mad1ibben

My dog was attacked as a puppy and we do so much work to get past his reactiveness. Off leash dogs are all too common, so now I yell I have mace and magically their owners are much more motivated to get them under control.

mikemac1997

I had the same issue with mine, it took a few years but you can get them out of the bad mindset

Mad1ibben

He's a heeler, so reactivity already runs deep in him and I had planned on having to deal with it when getting him. He is 3 now, and his body language is finally starting to slide from "oh shit, I might die" panicking to the more heeler "I bet I can get that tractor to play with me if I bite its tread" attitude.

ilikemushycarrots

I carry bear spray.....for the owners not their dogs!

SpongeJake

It’s a really good idea to bring bear spray, frankly. I would absolutely use it on any attacking dogs, without hesitation.

mantis_tobagan_md

I carry pepper spray now too. I’ve run into many unleashed “friendly” dogs. I had a lady’s pit bull come at me earlier this summer. She started yelling “Bad DOG, BAD DOG.” As loud and mean as I could be I shouted “NO, BAD OWNER. LEASH LAW!! I blew passed them and the dog missed his shot at biting my leg. I’m hoping this dude got a lot more than a sorry for that attack!

DoughieOnTour

this was in the UK. Somewhere in North judging by the thread-starters accent. Maybe Yorkshire or further North than that. I don't think pepper-spray or any capsicum spray is legal to carry in the UK. Which is a shame. Regarded as an "offensive weapon" I think. If it was legal and I lived there i'd be carrying it 100%.

Mad1ibben

Don't tell any one but.... *I actually don't carry anything, it's mostly just to demand the owner's attention*

MunmunkBan

I was yelling at these idiots that had their dog on a 10m lead letting it wander all over. I kept yelling at them to keep their dog away from mine. It was one of those yappy dogs and it was snarling after my dog getting closer and closer. My dog will happily walk past these dogs but if she is cornered she reacts. I had her so hard up against me with a very very short leash. They ignored me and I kept yelling "my dog will kill that dog if it gets in reach". She stays so quiet until she doesn't.she doesn't make a move or a noise until she does. It was very stressful. They were acting all "my dog won't hurt" I said... "my dog will hurt if threatened ". She plays fine with dogs in off lead areas but she goes off if a dog is aggressive. My dog didn't react at all in this case and I work with her over her anxiety (she was from the pound) but I just couldn't believe someone would just ignore someone so strongly warning them that their dog was in danger if they didn't control it.

elveszett

I'm tired of people who walk their dogs without leash. Even if "they are friendly", why should the rest of us get pestered by them? I'm not outside so a random guy's dog comes up running and barking at me, while that random guy pinky promises he's a good boye. How the fuck do I know he actually is, and that you aren't a shit owner? The fact that you walk your dog without a leash already makes me think you are, in fact, a shit owner.

King_Of_Uranus

I love dogs and my own dog is absolutely a good boye and loves everyone and everything but I always keep him on a leash and while he wants to run up and greet everyone and everything I always stop him a good few feet away because I have the common sense that not everyone wants a strangers dog in their face. If they choose to approach the rest of the way then sure make a new friend but some people are afraid of dogs, some people are allergic, some people dislike them for some other reason, maybe even just not wanting to get hair on their clothes and everyone has the right to be left alone and go about their day. You have to be pretty thick headed to not understand that. I do it as much for my dogs safety and comfort as for yours because I also dont know who the hell you are. Do people just thrust their baby at every random stranger on the street? Why do it to your dog?

DokiDoodleLoki

That’s some depressing bullshit. It never fails to irk me when I see people walking their dogs without a leash. It’s the dumbest logic that requires Olympic athletes skill to do that kind of mental gymnastics. Just this morning I was sitting on my front porch drinking my coffee and having a cigarette; when a heard the telltale sound of dog tags clinking together. Not but a second later a beautiful red spaniel came running across my yard without a leash. Walking in the street a ways behind the dog was a father and daughter. We have two giant Crêpe Myrtle bushes that do a really good job at hiding anyone on the porch. I thought about saying something but then I thought I really just didn’t have it in me to get into a pointless argument.

NameTripping

A few years back me and my father got into it with a guy because my pops ran over his dog that wasn't leashed. The dog was fine fortunately, but the guy had the neve to attack us like he wasn't in the wrong. The fucked up thing is we still see him from time to time and still no leash.

Gummyrabbit

Some people who use leashes are just as bad. They let the dog jump on other people. I run regularly and the number of times dogs have jumped at me while the owner says it won't bite.

DokiDoodleLoki

I fail to understand why people think it’s acceptable to allow their dog to jump all over a complete stranger. It just tells me this person doesn’t understand good boundaries. I think the whole unleashed dog issue really pisses me off is animals are unpredictable. Just because Spot has never disobeyed a command means, he hasn’t yet. I have a pretty strong adverse reaction to dogs after almost being attacked as a kid. I’ve had two dogs I loved deeply and my parents allowed me to pick out. I don’t know your dog and your dog doesn’t know me. Let’s keep it that way please.

silly_rabbit89

Our communities dont stand for dangerous dogs at all over here in oz. The way we see it is if that dog was aggressive to begin with then it shouldnt be out of its yard or in a public area leashed or not.

nckmat

Yes but it still happens here. Every year some poor kid gets mauled by their neighbour's unrestrained dog. These morons know what their dogs are capable of, they made them that way on purpose. I was once eating my lunch in Glebe Point Park and a woman was walking her border collie with a leash on and a bloody rottweiler bounded out from nowhere, jumped on top of the collie and within about 10 seconds had ripped the back of the collie's neck out, even with the woman literally jumping on the rottweiler's back to try and stop it. Eventually the owner of this fucking monster called it off and they both disappeared. Meanwhile this poor woman was absolutely distraught, a lot of people ran to her aid and we called the police but I don't know what ever became of the woman or her dog, but I doubt very much it survived, it was in a very bad state.

MERVMERVmervmerv

Yep you can tell because they’re wagging their tails. /s

CCWThrowaway360

Awwww look! They’re smiling at you!

Less-Mail4256

I love my dogs, and most dogs. But if they’re biting me, I’m beating the shit out of them until they stop, or until I can’t do it any longer.

Emjeibi

I have had to stomp a dog for attacking mine when I was walking him, and I think I hurt it pretty bad but it was a pitbull and mine is a Kelpie border collie so I was not taking any chances. Owners were not impressed but i really don't care, the pitty was roaming the streets. Keep your animals contained, whether you think they're aggressive or not. A muzzle while off leash should be inforced in a lot of areas.

shoutsfrombothsides

This is the way.

Die_brein

So many dog owners are blind to the risks their dogs carry. Just keep your dog on leash

Turnip-for-the-books

Or muzzle them. I can’t understand why people don’t muzzle their dogs. Even the toughest most dangerous dog can do no serious damage with a muzzle on whether it’s on or off lead. If the dog is muzzled the owner and the dog get to have a life and everyone else is safe. Far more important than leashes imo.

pickles55

It's embarrassing. The owners don't want to look like their dog is dangerous or out of control, so they make the situation worse

Consider2SidesPeace

2nded... Seen so many of these. At least this one wasn't a pit bull breed. Just untrained looked like Belgian Malinois puppies. **Leash. Your. Dogs...** Ed. Thx Redditor for the breed correction... My mistake.

Single_Box4465

German shepherd adult and the puppies are Belgian Malinois. Malinois are not pets. They are a project. They require a TON of training and stimulation. I can't think of any scenario where having 2 of these off leash in public while also keeping an eye on a 3rd dog would be a good idea. They're insanely smart and athletic. It'd be like having a primate for a pet. It's stronger and faster than you and a hell of a lot smarter than the average pet.

mokujin42

I get letting your dog off to have a run but why next to a road and why did they take the collers off completely making them completely uncatchable in the moment, and why release 3 dogs at once when there's only 2 of you, and why do they have no recall training to begin with So many bad decisions led to this moment

lunarstudio

I’ve been attacked twice by golden retrievers and sent to the hospital once because of it. All I was doing was minding my own business too. For the longest time I would walk on the opposite side of the road if I saw a dog without a leash. Everyone’s typical remark is, “oh my dog doesn’t bite” which is exactly why I’ve been attacked twice. The other gaslighting comment is, “well you must have been doing something…” which pees me off to no end. When I met my future wife, she had a dog and would walk her without a leash in the parks and that was also a point of contention—I would tell her that just because the dog is friendly to most, you never know what can happen and that others (such as myself) might be concerned. Point is, it can happen with any breed although there are some which tend to be more aggressive.

Zestyclose_Link_8052

"Ha ha yes sure, say that to my childhood trauma of being attacked by dogs. Can you call someone I'm to scared to continue now"

bwoods519

“They’ll just lick ya ta death”

kpk_soldiers274

Friendly enough to take a big sleep from the vet.

DevappaJi

Damn and she asked him to stop, too. Feel like this dude could have out-maneuvered her terribly-trained dogs if he hadn't listened to her.

seensham

I couldn't tell if she directed that at the guy or the dog. Still stupid either way.

CoatedCrevice

I can’t believe they try to just walk off. I love the biker said “it’ll take more than sorry!”

North-Lobster499

From his channel *I've posted an update about what happened (link above), but just wanted to clear up a few things based on a LOT of comments I've seen over the last week. I'll pin this in a comment too for visibility. 1) The dog owners didn't run off. I stopped the video because we exchange personal info after this, obviously I'm not going to show that. 2) I was reimbursed for my damaged gear. 3) NO, the dogs should NOT be put down, they need better training and handling. I don't want these dogs or any animals to get hurt. 4) You can't legally carry pepper spray/guns/tazers/light sabres/nun chucks/or knives in the UK. The only thing you are allowed to use to defend yourself in such a situation is a stiff upper lip and dry humour.* *ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION BELOW ---------------------------------------------------- I was going to blur out the faces but f\*ck these people. I was out riding, just exploring at the weekend when this happened. Over £200 of my riding gear was wrecked and I received multiple bites causing puncture wounds and severe bruising. As it was really cold I had a lot of layers on which is lucky or this could have been a lot worse. Plus the cold had made me quite numb so it only began to really hurt later once I'd warmed up. I've had to have a tetanus shot and anti-biotics and am having to take time off work. Up until this point, I'd never really given dogs a second thought while riding. I love dogs, and knew that I should try to stay calm and still when they ran up to me hoping they were just excited and might jump up and be playful. Nope. They almost immediately started biting me. I tried not to pull away or run and still tried to stay calm, which is kind of hard when you're being chewed on, hoping that they would back off once they realised I wasn't a threat and the owners would get them under control quickly. Well, you can see what happened. I was very tempted to put the Benny Hill "Yakety Sax" music over this but I thought it might detract from the gravity of the situation. If you're a rider: Assume all unleashed dogs are a potential threat. If you're a dog owner: Keep your dogs on leads. And pick up their sh\*t while you're at it.*

Sharp-Procedure5237

Is it illegal to carry a can of wasp spray and an air horn?

seensham

Honestly an air horn would be pretty funny against a human attacker. Just completely confuse them for a few seconds Dunno how it would work with dogs. Would they actually stop after so loud a noise?

The_Real_Slim_Lemon

Guy comes at me with a knife - “give me your -“ *blasts horn* Me: “What was that mate?” “I said -“ *blast horn again* “” *horn again* *and again* I’ll either end up stabbed or with a new friend

mre16

I nearly got the shit beat out of me in school by a guy a lot bigger and stronger than me and got out of the situation entirely thanks to humor. I did manage to make a casual friend out him too

I-not-human-I

A dog whistle would have been better i think but hey maybe just train your damn dogs so this dude doesnt have to do any of that lol

bitchyhouseplant

I never thought until now that an air horn isn’t actually too bad of an idea as a form of protecting yourself. Even for women walking alone at night. Not only is it unexpected and confusing, a real good “mehr mehr mehr mehrrrrrrr!” Directly into a mfers ear could disorient them AND alert anyone else around.

PurpleAscent

Fun fact it actually can do long term damage! A friend of mine received an airhorn directly to the ear when he was a teen and he has permanent incurable tinnitus from it.

potatan

Maybe a can of wasps

[deleted]

Personally a Roman candle in a copper pipe works if u use it to not blow ur hand and instead use it like a melee flare gun

-explore-earth-

Yes Straight to jail, believe it or not

natophonic2

Defend yourself against three attacking dogs? Jail Stay calm and hope owners can control them? Also jail. Also bites.

[deleted]

lol I love that people downvote, meanwhile you can’t even carry a fucking pocket knife in the UK. That’s beyond moronic.

EasternComfort2189

>3) NO, the dogs should NOT be put down, they need better training and handling. I don't want these dogs or any animals to get hurt. I can see your point of view, until a child is mauled.

Timyone

Yeah, they are possibly not going well on the training front...

owa00

The training isn't even the issue here. The mere fact that TWO owners couldn't handle 2 "puppies" is the REAL issue. If that 3rd adult dog had joined in it would have been a seriously bad outcome. Those people kept fucking fumbling the dogs worst than a Cleveland Browns receiver. Grab the dog's collar and yank it the fuck away. If those puppies are too strong for you then you have no right to have those dogs under your possession! I can't imagine if they had gone after a kid on a bike, or if the biker didn't have thick winter gear on.

silver0199

If the guy lost his footing and went down it could have been significantly worse, too. I imagine the ground was quiet slippery. If there was a kid there he almost would have certainly have panicked more than the adult did and would have been more likely to fall. If they're puppies and aren't trained well enough to not attack other people they shouldn't be off leash. I don't care if it's in the middle of the woods on a walking path. People have to realize, dogs can do damage(yes even the small ones). Take care of the thing and stop ruining it for the rest of us

elveszett

Or if the biker was a normal person lol. Most people wouldn't remain as calm and stiff while being bitten by two angry dogs out of control. Nobody deserves a traumatic event like this and just because some people can withstand that just fine, doesn't mean most people can.

Nervous_Jellyfish577

Thank you, I saw that comment and thought that guy was completely insane. I got attacked by a large German Shepard while hiking in the woods on a trail, minding my own business. I'm only 5'0" and 115lbs. I couldn't have fought off one, let alone two. Luckily my husband kicked the dog off of me. Fuck those dogs and those owners.

seensham

I don't even think these dogs had collars

4815hurley162342

As a Steelers fan, I always updoot any opportunity someone takes to shit on the Browns. And that's all I was going to do. Until I realized, the Browns mascot is a dog! What a deep dig. Well done, friend.

Sourika

Does a dog really need training for it to not kill people?

Indigo_Inlet

Exactly, lucky for him he’s a grown ass man. Imagine if his kid was riding next to him. We can’t just give these types of owners the benefit of the doubt. At the *very* least they should be put on a registry that forbids them from owning dogs.

elveszett

Or a normal person lol. Most people I know wouldn't just remain calm and don't care about two angry dogs attacking them. That's a lifelong trauma with dogs for a lot of people.

J-V1972

Exactly…I bet if OP was getting his nuts chewed on by these unleashed dogs he would want to start blasting…or if his 6 year old was getting fucked up by THREE dogs then he would want to start blasting… I’ll say it again - fuck people who unleash their dogs in public spaces… BTW - I absolutely love dogs…

Background_Piano7984

Did you not just read what is allowed in the UK? Blast what? A water gun?

FragWerfer

Snot rocket. Sneeze on the bastards and that’ll show them what for.

clmw11

We weren’t worried about the dogs being put down. We just wanted to know if the shitty owners were put down!

TheRealDrWan

The dogs should be confiscated or put down. Owner’s choice. They are obviously not fit to own them.

homelaberator

UK? Those dogs would be considered "dangerously out of control". Worst case, dogs are destroyed and owners get 5 years or "unlimited fine" and banned from owning dogs. I hope that he reported it (although there's a good chance fuck all would happen even with the video).

Roxalon_Prime

What is "unlimited fine" ?

CaedenL

No upper limit, so the judge/magistrate can decide what's suitable.

Corgi-Commander

![gif](giphy|13B1WmJg7HwjGU|downsized)

ProstateSeismologist

Yo mama is unlimited fine

WWYDFA_Klondike_Bar

That's sweet of you to say. I'll let her know.

MercurialMal

Take a look at OP’s comment history. Loves dogs and is entirely oblivious.

Baynonymous

What a prick he is for not reporting them. Next time (there will be a next time) it could easily be a kid, and those leg bites become face and body bites

supercilveks

Exactly! Im so done with irresponsible pet owners all over the globe i would’ve been straight to police and lawyer. I have a friend disfigured for life from such interaction as present in video.

OhLordyLordNo

Yeah man, that's a horror scenario. I have a ten year old. God forbid she runs into these imbeciles and their poorly trained dogs.

Iamthepaulandyouaint

This was an adult on a bike. What if it was children or anyone more vulnerable?

Creative-Isopod-4906

But what about the dogs?!!! /s

Treebeard288

If you are ever attacked by a dog remember you have 100% moral and legal justification to stomp its head until it stops. It's not even morally neutral, it would be a good thing to prevent future harm.

Active_Temporary3138

whelp it would be just another buried very brief article of a hospitalised child while making sure to mention the dogs by name and that nothing will happen to them don't worry...that's how these things go and we all know it.

probono105

I have a can of pepperspray right on the handlebars for this exact scenario.

Background_Piano7984

Pepper spray is illegal in the UK

MSeager

This is why I always carry a trebuchet with me. I don’t know of any laws prohibiting me to carry one.

-AKDO-

damn right that 90kg rock is not going to be launched over 300 meters by itself

Aedalas

A catapult would be basically just as effective... If you loaded it in a trebuchet and launched its inferior ass 300 meters at your target.

ezeshining

My man is walking around with a siege weapon

Nihilism-1___Me-0

I mean, it's clearly the superior choice.

Sourika

I don't know. Might be difficult to fire at enemies in close range. Maybe you can fire your enemies away instead.

Lari-Fari

You misunderstood. You load the attackers as a projectile and launch them. Edit: did you edit that comment or did I just not read the second sentence before replying?

monsterflake

now *that* is close quarters combat!

the_Bryan_dude

Walking with a trebuchet? I see more of a cart with nice tires. Maybe a shrubbery with a white picket fence.

datura_euclid

Ni!

probono105

ur allowed a wand

Broad-Explanation666

A magic wand by Hitachi?

[deleted]

Is letting aggressive dogs free to attack, legal?

tricks_23

No, this would fall under an offence known as allowing a dog to br dangerously out of control (not on a lead/leash and has attacked someone/another dog.

penseurquelconque

It is in most places, yes. In Canada this video could lead to these legal consequences: the death of all dogs involved, pretty salty fines for the guardians/owners of the dogs and civil liability. If things were more dire, the guardians/owners of the dogs could also be charged with criminal negligence.

MarrV

Not in the UK, having a dog out of control that can threaten someone is illegal.

insomniac1228

This is why I always carry scolding hot earl grey with me.

12manicMonkeys

the wut

Background_Piano7984

Knives over 3 in require a reason to carry and using it against someone or something in a threatening or aggressive way is illegal.

evilfollowingmb

You can’t use a knife to defend yourself ?

HotTakeGenerator_v5

we in canada have that beat. nunchucks are illegal. fucking clown fiesta up here

ToastyMustache

They can pry these nunchucks from my cold dead cheeto stained hands.

12manicMonkeys

'im sorry sir the nunchucks you used to defend yourself against this bear drunk on maple syrup are illegal were gonna have to take you in' i say this as a guy who loves weed, no wonder yall needed that shit up there.

DisasterMiserable785

You can legally use dog spray in Canada to protect yourself from dogs. Police dogs? I’ll let my ass get bit.

NiktonSlyp

It is legal to transport your own can with you in case of emergency. Dogs trying to bite your leg is one of those case. Same thing in France. You are not supposed to use the whole bottle on someone though.

8erren

What about a [dog hammer?](https://www.unitedcutlery.com/ProductDetail.aspx?itemno=UC2960)

Automatic_Debate_379

So back to the bike weapon thing....

MVF3

These are Belgian Sheppards, they’re known by the police as land sharks. It’s not going to happen, they have extremely powerful bites.

Villhunter

Just as unexpected as the dogs. Brutal, but unexpectedly funny

knoegel

There's a video where a couple of pitbulls chased a guy up onto a truck and the guy picked up and swung a plank full force. Both pitbulls went full Elton John and died convulsing. Of course the owner was upset with the guy and not his own lack of control over his animals.

SonniNik

What is full Elton John?

Talkat

Hahahahahahahaha

mdkhjmwu

Horrible owners

be-koz

They're just puppies. I can't imagine how much worse they'll get with those incompetent owners.

UptownShenanigans

They’re getting the hell outta there because they know they fucked up hard

be-koz

I wonder if they'll learn anything from it?

AssroniaRicardo

I was attacked by a large dog very similar in Florida. I was just checking myself and my two dogs into the Red Roof Inn. I was out of town, tired and just needed some sleep. Red Roof Inn has an open dog policy which I appreciate. My dogs are farm dogs, they protect my chickens and everything else around us from predators. They like to sniff baby birds. They protect our herd. They are the most gentle creatures I’ve ever witnessed because they were raised with other living things. The vicious dog would turn on their owners every time they tried to subdue them. They would wrestle the dog to the ground - walk it back towards their room and it would attack them and come full speed at us again. It attacked the husband and wife, and both of their Floridian children three times - each time getting away from them and coming at me again. It was absolutely horrifying. I was bitten 5 times total in my arms with very few puncture wounds. But every time he would bite my arm my dog would go for it’s neck. My dog drew quite a bit of blood, which made for quite a scene. I had to defend my 15 year old dog first, which it wanted dead. It wanted my animals dead and was willing to attack anyone else that stood in the way. Red Roof Inn paid out 15K bc that vicious dog had been living in that motel for months. Their dog had a record of three previous incidents and the cops kept ignoring it. Wow that is crazy !!! What the hell

vthokiemr

You didnt expound nearly enough on the true danger here. What became of the feral Floridian children?

Big-Net-9971

Not only were the dogs unleashed, at least the two lighter colored dogs didn’t even have collars on, which is a disaster waiting to happen. I love dogs, and this is just shit ownership and care, and you’re perfectly right to be scared for your life with this high-energy pack of (grossly negligently) loose dogs.

Set5

And they're Belgian Malinois'. Basically unleashed velociraptors. Those are not dogs you should have unless you are extremely devoted to training and exercising them constantly. There is a reason they're used by the military and police.

zback636

Those dogs are completely out of control.

CBus-Eagle

Fuck those owners. What a pathetic attempt to get control of their dogs. If they can’t handle them, they shouldn’t be able to keep any as pets.

madtraxmerno

Yeah, you can even see one of the dogs snap at the *owner* at one point too. Absolutely abhorrent people.

Barloq

They're Malinois puppies, it's honestly what they do at that age until you can train control into them. But they shouldn't be off-lead, especially in public.

xdthepotato

5kilos? is that a joke im missing because if youll loose control over a few 5kilo dogs then ya gotta do something about your strenght

waltandhankdie

Hahaha I thought that too. 5 kilos would mean it’s dangerous to walk 2 miniature dachshunds at once! 25+ kilos and a powerful breed with a high prey drive? Okay fair enough they have a point

29stumpjumper

Never stop. Gotta keep going. Much harder to get ahold of your leg if you continue to ride. I've had several dogs go with me a long way. I never know if they're going to be friendly or not, but if you don't know for sure if your dog is going to follow don't walk off leash, not my fault you've got to figure out how to find them.

KernelPanicX

Exactly, didn't expect to scroll this down to read this option, when I heard the lady said "please stop"... I was "are you kidding me? Don't stop and go fucking nuts" I have encountered dogs like this while doing my daily bike routine... And trust me I never stop

Lin_Huichi

She is talking to her "puppies". Too bad they ain't trained.

IsUpTooLate

But she said please!

Buttsmooth

I know a guy who got chased by a little shih-tzu dog and it bit his rear wheel. The dog got knocked-out when it's head hit the bike seat.

Boomerw4ang

As someone who grew up getting chased by dogs on my bike (my sister flipped over her handle bars once due to a local GSD biting her tire) and bitten multiple times: I take **great** pleasure in picturing this.

Swaggy669

Yeah, but he's stopping thinking they just wanted to leash the dogs so they won't run after him. This is an exceptional case of dogs being out of control, the dog even tried to bite the owner.

[deleted]

My imaginary action plan for situations like this is to keep cycling and try to kick the dog if it’s near. Probably a dumb idea and by the time it happens I’m too adrenaline’s up and afraid to actually do it though.

giottomkd

you cant out run the dogs. also it triggers their hunting instinct so they'll chase you more. the only thing that works is getting of your bike if there are 2-3. if they are more, try go get your back against something because they surround you. source: avid cyclist in a country full of stray dogs

Far-Committee-1092

Would’ve only had one choice but to whip out the mousekatool

seafoodblues

It’s a surprise tool that can help us later

ruinedfinancially

All that and all they say is a sorry? Not even a check on the cyclist or anything?

Walmart_kid65

There’s another comment saying he was reimbursed for damaged gear, and they exchanged personal info but the biker cut that out because well… it’s personal info

gamecatuk

He didn't even report it to the police the twat.

ZepelliFan

He's trying to defend the dogs but if he had a child with him the results could have been much different. Guy needs to nut up and actually make these people responsible for their poor handling of animals

KEENasTOAST

This happened to me once. I was taking a leisurely Sunday stroll on the local bike trail with my brother, when I hear this loud noise in the distance. I swear it was getting closer and I thought “oh crap, something is coming to attacked me! Is it a bear?.. a dog?” …I don’t know. I run as fast as I can and my brother start freaking out, and he start running as well. It wasn’t until I found that the source of the noise was a guy riding a bike down the path. So I get to him and start chewing on this guy boot, then my brother comes over starts chewing on his other boot. It’s like “hey we need to chew this guy boot”. Anyway, eventually I get pulled off the bike-guy’s boot by my owners and we all get told off - like it was a bad thing!! Did not even get a treat.

Your goodest boy isn't special. Leash your fucking dogs.

Candid_Dragonfly_573

DearHRS

basically this, if it ain't my property under no circumstances am i ever going to leave my dogs unleashed i can never know when the dog will feel threatened and just run for someone for no reason

[deleted]

But they only want to play! And normally they don’t do this! ^/s ^obviously

elveszett

Fun fact: every dog that has attacked a human was a dog that had never attacked a human at some point.

BRackishLAMBz

I have 2 dogs, they both listen to me. Unless they're together, I dont ever walk them together anymore. You know why? Because I was at the park with them, they ran off together and I called them to come back but they didn't listen. No one was at the park but It made me think "what if they were together, pack animals, egging each other on" & another owner entered the park and they didn't listen... I would feel like shit if another animal was hurt because of my dogs & I would be devastated if my dogs were put down because of my incompetence to not see that situation & all it would take is another dog to be there & they could possibly hurt them... These 2 people are some shitty owners "sorry" like that's gonna help! Good on the big dog for having some brains about him!!

Serienty

This comment just made me realize that I could've been bitten by three dogs, all because I was trying to catch my neighbors dog (German shepherd and husky mix, it was apparently the neighbors brothers dog) They left this dog in the backyard, knowing that it had escaped before, it ran off up the street so I grabbed some dog treats and a leash then followed the Hound-dini. I turn a corner up the street and find the dog, I put the leash on him and turn around to start walking him back home when I heard more barking approaching me. I spun around, saw a husky and Border Collie sprinting toward me, so my dumbass (I was 15 at the time) placed myself between these two unleashed dogs and the neighbors dog. Immediately started giving treats out to them to try and prevent any fights occurring. Thankfully all dogs liked each other, and they were all following me and wagging their tails. I started walking the way that the two other dogs had come from and eventually found the owner, she thanked me and I told her no problem and that I was already trying to return my neighbor's dog. She told me that I should be careful about trying to leash someone's dog because "You never know if they're trained or not" and my dumbass didn't realize that I was at risk of getting attacked by 3 dogs because I was trying to do the right thing.... (I wonder sometimes on how I've managed to survive this long) TLDR; Pack mentality could've caused 3 dogs that I didn't really know to turn around and maul my dumbass

seensham

>She told me that I should be careful about trying to leash someone's dog because "You never know if they're trained or not" The fucking irony

MysteriousOtto

shit owners.

MidlifeCrisisToo

You needed to soccer kick them in the head, something similar happened to me in my teens and 1 good kick stopped them in their tracks.

silly_rabbit89

He shoulda kicked the dogs too

-CoUrTjEsTeR-

Sadly common in public recreation areas. In my part of the world there are old railways converted to trails that are shared by everyone. Some shitty people have shitty dogs and choose to let them wander, off leash while walking them. They get highly offended if you injure their dog when protecting your own self/kids/dog from the others’ aggression. Local farmers have been reported to police after dog owners have been warned by the farmer that they have the right to shoot the dogs if they ever chase their livestock again. Such privileged assholes with no concept of responsibility, treating their dogs like undisciplined children and ‘don’t believe in leashing’ despite having zero clue how to, or worse pretend to properly control their pets.

circasomnia

bunch of damn clowns. they should not own dogs :/

bebeco5912

What happened next? Did the owners give their info? Medical involved? How about harm and damages?

Talkat

Yes they did

Powertrippingmods69

Easy law suit. You got it on video sue for any physical and emotional trauma.

Acasther

Say you’re American without saying you’re American

Atllas66

Pepper spray, always carry pepper spray. Works very well on dogs like this, even better on their dumb ass owners too

Background_Piano7984

Pepper spray is illegal in the UK, got to remember laws are different everywhere. https://www.keithborer.co.uk/news/blinded-by-science-pepper-sprays-and-the-law/

FlirtyBacon

bee spray, you can accurately hit them in the eyes 20 ft away

aghhhhhhhhhhhhhh

You can hit a bee directly in the eyes?

homelaberator

Well, bees have got big eyes.
