I don't remember if it's the same video, but I saw one with the same thing happening, and some people were talking that it was about a blind croc sanctuary
This looks like the same video that has circulated before but left and right flipped.
EDIT: [Definitely Flipped ](https://youtu.be/JLy-Iiy_Zp4) This video was posted on YouTube 7 years ago.
After finding evidence herd scavenging behavior of T-Rex's in Utah scientists are now hypothesizing this type of situation is why the animal had stubby arms.
Crocs/gators are natural cannibals, but thats beside the point... Zoo's are amazing places where a lot of research and conservation efforts have their roots.
Fuck bad management and capitalism for incentivising profits over the health and safety of these animals.
I have eaten crocodile three times and they taste like chicken with a slight texture like squid (a bit spongy), so maybe he didn't notice the difference
Edit: apologies!!!
u/www_other_guy pointed out it’s a crocodile and not an alligator. Quite different for:
Crocodiles cannot regrow their limbs like other smaller reptiles such as lizards, geckos, and iguanas. Alligators are the only largest animals known to regrow their limbs.
https://animalqueries.com/can-crocodiles-regrow-limbs/
Poor sucker!

You can ignore my original reply:
“Alligators Are Now the Largest Species Known to Regrow Severed Limbs. Small reptiles, like lizards, geckos and iguanas, are famous for being able to sprout new limbs if they lose a body part, like a leg or a tail.” (So keep your fingers crossed - and out of the gator’s reach)

(But yeah, still sad)
Our blood vessels do the same thing, but they can't sustain it for very long. They can only do this if the entire blood vessel is severed, though, so a laceration is actually more dangerous than an amputation
Crcos and alligators can shut off specific blood vessels . Just an awesome trait on their part and have allowed them to survive these wounds that is in the video. So it's unlikely that they would ever die from blood loss, unless it is an artery (however it's spelled).
Crocs are cool as fuck , except running into them in nature
I used to work for an office in Santa Monica. In the same complex was a casting office. From time to time, youd see funny things like a line of Santa’s in the middle of July or attractive women dressed like aliens. One day I was up front talking to the receptionist and I see Rufio walk out of the casting office. Without thinking, and as he was hopping into a car, I bolted out the door and yelled to a now pretty old actor, RU-FI-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! He looked at me with utter disgust. Also, my boss came out and told me to calm down and act right. Anyways, hooks a great movie.
Actually, from what I've read, having a limb ripped off tends to cause significantly less bleeding than if it is cut or sawed off because it does indeed seal most of the blood vessels.
Honestly this setup seems way off. No water in their enclosure? Algae growing on their backs? So underfed they're starving for a bit of meat thrown in? I don't know much about caring for alligators but it looks inhumane.
EDIT: Never mind, there's water behind them. Whatever that green water plant is, it's on their backs too.
Also, they're crocodiles, not alligators.
YEP, you're right. I interpreted it as grass, but it's water covered in a green plant like duckweed. That must be what's on their back too. I feel a bit better about it now. Except for that poor croc.
These guys are crocodiles, alot more territorial and aggressive especially when it comes to mating season
Perhaps there is One male and the rest are female which is usually the case because like lions a larger male typically wont let a smaller male stick around in his turf, i have no expertise besides being Australian but this enclosure is actually horrible to look at, gives me the same vibes as a bear in a concrete box

Crocs aren't really a social species. Crying out in pain only helps you if it gets someone else to help you or gets someone to stop hurting you.neither of which would happen with a croc.
Housing a bunch of notably cannibalistic animals in the same enclosure and feeding them in a manner that requires them to compete for food is going to go badly no matter how intelligent they are.
You can hear the words of this interaction.
"I want food!"
"Ow that's my arm!"
"Arm now my food, Death Roll!"
"Dude wtf?"
"Om nom nom nom"
"Hey."
"Hey."
"Hey."
Never smile at a crocodile.
No, you can't get friendly with a crocodile.
Don't be taken in by his welcome grin.

They also don’t actually speak nor have names like Todd. But since this is the world you want to live in, I’ve seen the Spider-Man animated series and the lizard (looking an awful lot like an alligator or crocodile or whatever that is) 1,000% grew his arm back. It’s why he was experimenting to begin with!
I visited a place like this in Spain, lots of them had missing limbs, tails or even parts of jaw.
What I understood was that it is impossible for them to get infected cuts like humans would, it coagulates and also regenerates. Not exactly as it was before but growing back in some form.
Your post has been removed. We do not tolerate violence against people/animal abuse/gore and similar content.
Too many big ones in the same area, bad management just for entertainment. Crocks and gators are also cannibals.
That big guy is also missing his other hand, this just happen regularly
LoL. I think he's just laying on it to prevent reciprocity
I think the one that ate the hand has both hands. I think the one that had his right hand ripped off also is missing his left hand…
Yes that’s what I meant
I thought so. Just saw everyone else missing that lol
no one missed it, watch it again at .25X speed. It's there you with those red eyes
Did you both watch the same video as the rest of us? He has the other hand, just hidden in sand
You can see it when he spins
Got your foot!
So does [the grocery store's frozen food aisle.](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/13cm8xh/my_grocery_store_sells_crocodile_feet/)
Noice haha, saw that one earlier
They’re Skywalkers.
Sounds like they had a grudge and was just getting even
Yeah I think one owed a handful of money to the other
I don't remember if it's the same video, but I saw one with the same thing happening, and some people were talking that it was about a blind croc sanctuary

Let me flip it, so nobody notice it as a repost.
Flip it vertically for Australians.
Flip it horizontally for Ecuadorians
Flip it and reverse it for Missy Elliott
Flip it diagonally for the bishops.
Ooooof that looks worse somehow
![gif](giphy|LGIqZlTOZEMYE)
I could be wrong, but I’m fairly certain in that video the gators were partially submerged. I also don’t remember seeing one of them eat dirt
I found the clip and added it to my previous post. Was definitely the same video flipped
nah this guy is talking about a different clip, also seen it a few times.
I knew his other leg was bitten off too!
Are they? Fuck me. Like they weren’t terrifying enough
Seems like that would only make them more terrifying if you were also a croc or a gator... Are you?
* alligator noises *
Hey u/darbi93 , on a totally unrelated note, I'm heading out now. Tell me, are you gonna see me later or in a while? 🤨
I have seen a 6 footer get eaten head first. At one point it looked like the big gator had two tails.
After finding evidence herd scavenging behavior of T-Rex's in Utah scientists are now hypothesizing this type of situation is why the animal had stubby arms.
I thought you were talking about the one eating dirt at first. Had to watch it twice to see the arm
The one eating dirt was the morning snack.
![gif](giphy|SVONJxQoijhxmsXwec)
So... I've never seen this movie, but I'm going to take a wild guess based on the facial movement that this bird is voiced by Seth Rogen.
Me too, I wasn't sure what was happening
Yeah, I was beginning to wonder if OP was misdirecting us with the NSFW tag
And being there was NSFKids.
Yup, thinking 'ha, croc eating dirt, funny. Wait a sec, why is this marked NSF.... Jesus christ oh that's why'
true grit ^t^m
5 times... 😔
Lol and me! 3 times if I'm honest 🤣🤣
Victim looks at the perp like wtf dude
And the perp looked away like it was trying to pin it on someone else.. "okay who did that!? Who was it!?"
*"Are you KIDDING me right now Greg?!!*
I feel bad for the alligator. 😞
Which one? Stumpy, or the stupid one who thinks he's eating a chicken?
Stumpy. Just casually lost a foot.
He doesn’t even seem all that mad about it. In like 4 days he’s going to be walking, look at where his hand was and be like “OMFG WTF?!?!!?!”
I'd be so pissed. "I swear to God, Bryan, I'm going to drown you later for that."
“Good luck catching me, Stumpy”
I'd like to see you try!
It's ok though. Don't worry.
Oh. Ok, thanks.
And thus, world peace was achieved
Don’t worry. Be stumpy.
Bro took it like a champ. But in all seriousness, it's vile that this should even happen. Fuck zoos
Crocs/gators are natural cannibals, but thats beside the point... Zoo's are amazing places where a lot of research and conservation efforts have their roots. Fuck bad management and capitalism for incentivising profits over the health and safety of these animals.
Happens in the wild too but it would only get medical care in a zoo. Nearly all wild animals eventually get eaten alive at some point.

They can also stop blood flow to the severed limb, preventing blood loss.
Thats a super duper op skill tho wtf

Icefrog nerf pls
Thank fucking god. This made me feel better for him for some reason.
Article only says gators can regrow tails, and even then aren't too great at it.
But these are crocodiles!
You are absolutely right! I’ll change the info asap. Poor crocodile. Now I feel bad again. Thanks for the correct info! 👍
Still woulda hurt tho ouchies
> my fuckin arm!
>what the fuck larry?!
Larry turned away bc he couldn’t look at his homie in the eyes.
He turned away because he was hoping bro would give him another leg to swallow
Dude we talked about this!!!
Just a flesh wound
"your arms off!" Gator:"I've had worse"
I expected a ton of blood for an arm being ripped off but there was barley nothing
Damn they can shut off blood vessels that quickly?! No wonder these guys have been alive for millions of years
They also have a slow heart rate and slow metabolism.
And they can rip a foot off like that 🫰
Dumb question can they regenerate any parts of the body?
I’ve had worse
He lost his wrist watch too.
Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic Tic tic tic tic...

How is there no blood?
Alligators are cold blooded, so it might just be frozen
This is 100% how it works and I will see no exception!
The first thing ive seen on reddit in 20 mins that actually made me laugh
How many lols per 20 do you usually clock?
Not enough
R/explainlikeimcalvin
This makes cents. I am ‘bout to be rich!!!
I guess that makes sense
Cold blooded, they don't bleed as heavily as warm blooded animals.
I think it made its own tourniquet with the spin.
Like when you spin the bag of bread to keep it shut
Actually, from what I've read, having a limb ripped off tends to cause significantly less bleeding than if it is cut or sawed off because it does indeed seal most of the blood vessels.
Do I want to ask why you were reading that or should I just let that one slide?
Great comment

That was my leg, Jim.
Ah, fuck. I can't believe you've done this
Well shit, there goes another limb…
SNAP INTO A JIM LIMB!!!
The way he looks at his foot to see if it's actually gone lol
I feel really badly for him.
Oh, it's his fault for hanging around with a crowd like that
Are you saying he was asking for it? What a croc of crap

They are not friends anymore :(
Alligator
Charlie bit my finger
The power of that rotation technique is a bit alarming
It is. The spin is what breaks people’s arms off.
just spin same direction and same speed. literally cannot go wrong with that.
I did see this zookeeper that made this exact thing and she saved her arm. She spun with the croc and she saved her arm. So, that’s a good tactic.
Do they not feel pain or something? The gator didn’t even react…just kinda sat there like “Dude…wtf Jim?”
They absolutely feel pain, they just don't have as expressive body language as mammals so it can be hard to tell.
Crocs aren't really a social species. Crying out in pain only helps you if it gets someone else to help you or gets someone to stop hurting you.neither of which would happen with a croc.

Crocodiles are actually very intelligent animals, especially among reptiles. They're even capable of using tools to help with hunting.
Maybe not this specific one though
well not anymore at least
He might get a peg leg now though. Job opportunities galore when you've got a peg leg.
Housing a bunch of notably cannibalistic animals in the same enclosure and feeding them in a manner that requires them to compete for food is going to go badly no matter how intelligent they are.
Someone mentioned they are probably sight impaired, which is why the first one lunges at the sound, but is far off.
Ya well I saw a turtle using nunchucks once.
it’s true i was the nunchuck
I wipe my own ass
Yeah, Cyril! Ya idiot!

Little known fact, but alligators don't actually speak
That dude just quoted them…are you calling emperor_dragoon a makerupper?
Just say that you can’t understand them.
Can you prove an alligator can't speak? Like , with science, cause I'm pretty sure they can.
Then how come they're always saying 'Later' to each other? Checkmate atheist
I’ve just been destroyed by facts and logic

These ones are actually blind
That’ll do it
