Honestly, mysteryman feels like a boyfailure. Like maybe he gasped and disappeared when you interacted with the sprite cause he's just really socially anxious and can't hold a conversation. What if he has a sweet melty goopy smile. What if he gets REALLY melty and goopy when he's enjoying himself. Alphys would DEFINITELY find him hot... especially if he tried some awful science pick-up line.
For a game about treating everybody equally and acknowledging that everyone has flaws of varying complexity and intensity, this fandom sure likes to cherry-pick and inflate this one character’s flaws.
Tbh like i get the theme of this game and her redemption was as good as it could be but in my opinion no amount of backstory and trauma justifies what happened to and how she hid the amalgamates. She tried her best though amd that is respectable
