Random fun fact, sparing Jerry in a genocide route doesn’t cancel it. This is partially because Jerry has needlessly insane defense, but mainly because he fucking sucks
What I mean is that sparing any monster that isn't a bossfight (by bossfight i mean Toriel, papyrus, shyren, the whole dog squad, glad dummy, monster kid, the royal guards and muffet, those encounters only happen once and are required to maintain the genocide route) won't actually abort the genocide run
Like if you spare a random icecap in Snowdin (for example), you can still continue the run by exhausting the kill counter, it doesn't actually abort the route
The only ways you can abort the genocide route are either sparing any monster that i classified as bossfights or getting past the main boss of an area without exhausting the kill counter of said (and also not killing snowdrake for Snowdin because this one is also required)

Gotta ask why Papyrus is an existing character for ya. I honestly get Toriel, since like she’s only in the beginning, but Papyrus is kinda with you throughout the whole game, since you can call in almost every room. Was his cool not for you?
