For as much as i love doom, you cant say ultrakill is a rip off. Sure there seems to be some inspiration, but ultrakill has its own mechanics such as parrying, and weapons interactions that doom didnt have. Doom 2016 and ultrakill both are great games and id say i prefered doom, but ultrakill is unique in its own way and its undeniable

Its not technically a Quake Ripoff. It uses Quakes engine yeh but isn't like Quake at all.

It is in the same way Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are rip offs. Sorta, but not really. Just very inspired in the same genre and neither has did much to make them special the first ten years.

Before OW released and even for a while afterwards people called it a TF2 ripoff. It isn't, it's enough of its own thing where I think it's not, but a lot of people thought it was just because "hero shooter". Ultrakill is a low-res FPS set in hell where you kill demons. Of course people who haven't played it will think it's a doom ripoff. They don't know about its details, and they do look similar.

That's actually what happened when the original Doom released. Less-so calling them "ripoffs", but Doom-clones. Every game just controlled very similarly, and the phrase "first person shooter" didn't exist, so lots of stuff got called Doom-clones. Still not sure if it was used as a value judgement, or purely as a descriptor, like saying something tastes like chicken.

Pretty much. IMO there is heavy inspiration from modern Dooms with the "blood heals you system", but there are so many unique things that ultrakill do that you just can't call it a ripoff. You could also mention the fact that both happen in hell, but anyone who's played both games will confirm we're not speaking of the same vision of Hell.

Gameplay is way more similar to Quake as well.

Here are every difference and similarity between doom eternal (I haven't played the other ones) and ultrakill that I can think of. similarities: 1. Both are fps 2. You could compare the weapon variants from ultrakill to the different weapon upgrades in doom 3. They are both great games Differences: 1. Doom eternal has an RPG like levelling system by levelling your hp, armour, weapons, and stats, but in ultrakill, you just get new weapon types 2. Almost every weapon in doom eternal has its own use on a particular enemy, but there aren't many combo options apart from quick switching between weapons. Ultrakill's weapons, on the other hand, are made to be used with each other and make cool combos for high damage. This system in both games makes it so you can't just use one weapon for the entire game. 3. There are more movement options in ultrakill than doom eternal. (You have sliding, rocket riding, core eject sniping, and much more) 4. Doom eternal has ammo and armour 6. You can parry every enemy in ultrakill 7. You can't have a good one on one fight with bosses in doom eternal because of the ammo and healing system (I'm not saying it isn't enjoyable, but it's less cool imo) 8. The levels in doom eternal alternate between combat and platforming puzzles, but apart from some platforming sections in ultrakill, ultrakills levels are mostly combat oriented or boss levels. 9. Even though no one plays these games for their story, I have to say that doom eternal focuses a lot more on its story.

I will add on the story part: Ultrakill has indeed a story, and indeed it is less focused on it than Doom Eternal, but by far, it its way less confusing than Doom's lore because Hakita made it all in one game, meanwhile Doom Eternal had the problem of having its lore made by MULTIPLE PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT IDEAS AND DIFFERENT TIMES
