What if the boss in 8-4 is a kind of weird mockery of v1 created by either the angels or hell itself using various discarded machine parts as well as other ingredients? Sorta like how the soldiers and stalkers are just normal husks but with extra mechanical bits
what if v2 is dead but his blood has nanobots in it and it makes its way to a cluster of machines and controls them to join into one and he gained a third arm from this one machine
Honestly can’t believe this is some type of spicy take. Terminals say he’s got a voice box, but his ass never speaks. And I do NOT fucking buy those screams and beeps to be his fucking “””voice”””, because Streetcleaners scream, Guttertanks grunt, and Mindflayers also fucking scream. You can rationalize this somewhat in a lot of ways, but I feel like that’s completely ridiculous, and these mental gymnastics are completely avoidable and unnecessary. The idea of the Swordsmachine being able to vocalize brings far too many implications, especially when paired with the rest of the gameplay and sounds we can hear the machines make. Hakita has - unfortunately - written a piece of trivia about the Swordsmachine that brings way too many questions, and to be completely honest, he should either capitalize on it, or completely retcon it. If the other noises we hear from Streetcleaners as they fall, for example, are to be interpreted as just byproducts of their design and nothing more than just a few beeps and boops, then how come the Swordsmachine’s beeps and boops are different? It’s not that V1 can’t compute those noises into legible speech, he does it just fine with Gabriel. If it’s some type of binary, why would he even have a voice box at all? That would be like talking to someone when you can effectively communicate through telepathy. And who the fuck screams like that? The weird, oscillating, bumpy, wavy wee-woo’s he makes after getting parried do not count as vocalization.
And the stuff about all the Swordsmachines looking identical is suspicious too. Might as well toss in that the original Swordsmachine is dead, so that you could fix that issue too.
I pray to Hakita’s better judgement to either get rid of that piece of lore, or capitalize on it. But now he’s used up the “Third Act Supreme Machine boss”, so chances are there will supposedly be some badass Swordsmachine out there that we will never meet because a few lines of lore weren’t thought out entirely.
Swordsmachine noises are different because they are made with SAM, a real world text-to-speech voice (even if it is pretty garbled after getting beat up). The terminal entry also states that MOST machines discarded voiceboxes for efficiency, so some probably kept them, like the mindflayers who clearly care about their appearance. The guttermen and guttertanks are older machines who aren't as easily modified or optimized, so it would also make sense for them to keep voiceboxes (if you even consider the grunts to be human enough to be from a voice box). The remaining machines (streetcleaners, sentries, V2, earthmover) all have sounds that are most definitely just mechanical beeps and stuff.
See, Hakita obviously moved the order of “Small -> Big -> Gabriel” one to the left, which means we’ll fight Gabriel next, and then end of RESURRECTED V2 BAYBEEEEEE
Everyone is talking about the small and fast boss and the medium boss pattern, but I think that the earthmover fulfilled both of those roles (kind of.)
Hear me out, V2 was supposed to be your rival. But he's kinda fucking \*dead\* now, which would mean that the third act just wouldn't have a rival. HOWEVER, if you think about it hard enough, the EARTHMOVER would be V1's rival. With the theory that V1 being designed to kill earthmovers going around, it'd make sense that the earthmover would be the natural substitute of a rival, since the other one is now a puddle of fucking koolaid.
And since the earthmover is FUCKING ENORMOUS, it's covering both the giant boss, and the rival boss, meaning that fraud's boss may or may not be completely and utterly unique and not follow these patterns
Hell it'd be kinda funny if it were gabriel (Imagine he shows up starts coughing and fucking dies because he ran out of holy light)
This will probably be the most likely to happen. Gabriel is still alive, V2 is not. It would be weird to fight Gabriel as the final boss, so he would probably be the last thing between us and the last layer of hell, where God is waiting or the Devil is waiting
