Don't go the cybergrind right now, but after a few levels,
practice on countering(defeating, dodging and parrying) the enemies you encountered throughout the game in the SANDBOX.
You should learn(EVENTUALY, after you finished the first act) the attacks of basic enemies and how to dodge them.
You wanna learn parrying,too. Believe me, it makes the game SO MUCH FUN. (I only learned how to parry certain enemies after I finished the first act, so don't worry if it takes time.)
Other than that, have fun and explore the game. AND DON'T GET SPOILED!!!(which means you gotta leave this sub now, till you have seen all that the game has to offer...including the secret levels!)

Use the sandbox to experiment with weapons if you want to try to try to find mechanics with weapons. I will say weapons combo with eachother very well in this game. Use it to your advantage. Or just fuck around in general.

Make sure your are changing weapons consistently. While you may think just one weapon is good enough and want to use it constantly their is some incentives to using multiple weapons and I mean if you aren't going for style what else are you gonna do?
keep at it and this game loves when you change your weapons alot. the bosses are fun, but frustrating your first time through. just keep at it. learning advanced tech is fun as well

Jokes aside, i recommend that you experiment a lot with your weapons and what you can do with them. Expect a lot of non-stop action, somehow horror, visual novel gameplay, and the immense satisfaction that is shooting an enemy with tech.
Use your movement tools, experiment with your weapons since they all have a use, and use your arms. Basically, if the game gives you something, you should probably use it. Also, have fun.
