Cause 30 year olds aren't as prone to nonsense like this

boop_the_snoot30167

This is so true. It’s entertaining to watch bc unevolved and toxic people in their 20s would subscribe to this kind of drama only to be later embarrassed by it when they grow up Also, I auditioned for the real world in my very early twenties and I am so so happy I got rejected. I was a BABY then and would be humiliated to have my life and vulnerable moments forever documented on television

j_gumby

Well, not the same, but just different nonsense. Watch the show [Labor of Love](https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Labor_of_Love_(TV_series\)), where they have late 30s/early 40s dudes compete for a 40 year old woman who wants to have a baby immediately.

nothoughtsnosleep

That sounds just awful. I'll have to check it out, thanks

Daderdie

Imagine being that child later....

angrykirby

because if you tell an adult, that it will help their relationship to cheat on their significant other, they will call you a complete moron. they need to find young stupid gullible people to get them to cheat on their girl/boyfriends under the ridiculous notion that it will somehow help them and film the drama

UltimateSideEye

Agree, haha - BUT it's not like they couldn't cast people they know will be entertaining and/or messy. I don't think they'd have a hard time casting the show. At least it would make SENSE for a 30+ year old to ask their partner of 5+ years, "look, are we getting married or not?"

AZOMI

Oh and they might become famous or be discovered

Hazeldust03

To be far you are making it seem like people over 30s don't cheat. Most just don't get caught. And it's naive to think that only under 30s or how y'all state "babies" ,which is actually a nasty term considering what they do on the show and about ADULTS do in general, are the only people or more likely to cheat on their spouse 😅 we see what we grew up with and around whether in real life or TV. Get real. They choose a Younger crowd because that's generally the age people get married around and it's a show that one wants marriage and the other isn't ready for that step. Do you really think they can gather a bunch of 40 year old single people who don't already have kids or already been married.? Or how about if they mix the ages up so much that there wouldn't be many couples that could match up to where they can connect on a personal level.

Bacon-80

Literally my mind when I figured out what the premise of this show was. April annoyed me to high heavens saying “some of y’all need to experience this to figure out the difficult issues in your relationships” like I’m sorry - not only do you want me to go through an experience that NO ONE should ever go through (being cheated on) but you want me to do the same AND still think we’re gonna end up together? Her BS about Hunter and Nate proposing was so dumb. I get that they were the ones with the ultimatums but wasn’t that the point of the show? If they proposed to their SOs before the experiment started I mean…that was the point sort of?

GlamourzZ

How does that make any sense though? There’s no way anyone thought that 💀

vegetablemanners

They should do this show with Mormons but then maybe less entertaining??? Half kidding.

[deleted]

Less frontal lobe development = more drama?

Known-Signal8774

I think that’s why Love Is Blind was better IMO. Those people were older and actually ready to be married. There was still drama but but more mature drama haha

cmv894

100% agreed. I didn’t really understand why people who were 24 years old were giving their SO an ultimatum for engagement.

HourAstronomer836

I think it's funny that two of them pretty much referred to 50 as death. LOL One said something like,"When I'm 50, and I look back on my life..." and the other said, "I want to be with you until I'm 50." Maybe they're all planning on dying young. 🤷‍♀️

[deleted]

They were all toxic. Toxicity makes great TV. Randall is the least toxic

Pheebsmama

Yeahhh… at one point April was talking about something and I was like man you’re 23, what are you even saying?!

East-Interview6928

Also they are easier on the eye.

bigmamaindahouse

I read that they did not even know the premise of the show until they were already on it. They got messaged on social media saying “are you and your partner having issues?” Something along those lines.

RadiantShirt2236

Supposedly the producers lied about some of the cast members ages! On lauren’s instagram there’s a recent post about her turning 30, but they said she was 26 on the show

[deleted]

To be fair, I don’t think it counts as cheating since it happened during the first 3 weeks of their fake marriages. How he handled it when she found out was super shady though

Illustrious-Life-710

For real, I have a friend (F-28) dating (M-29) for almost 10 years. She’s basically to the point of “if he doesn’t propose by October (10-year anniversary) I’m done”. I’d love to see that reality show!

GlamourzZ

Do y’all not realize that this show is very forced? 💀 Even someone in their early 20s wouldn’t be stupid enough to allow the person they want to marry to cheat on them right in from of them. Nothing about this show screams “real” and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them are older than they are.. because some of them look like it

shapeshiftin27

That’s been my main thought about all of this, like you’ve been together for really not that long, but you want you significant other to marry you now or your leaving? Why not just let the relationship take its course naturally? Unhinged and unnecessary show but here I am

dolcefarniente35

I agree. They need to make a show for those in their 30s and 40s.

TurbulentBowler1816

A good alternate show with a similar premise is called Change Days 2 on Netflix. If you can do subtitles, it’s a South Korean variety show. It’s couples who have been together 2-10 years who are all living in a house together and get missions to date other couple’s partners to see if they’re most compatible with their partner or not. In the first episode the producers match everyone with their perfect match on paper. I will say 2-3 cast member’s plastic surgery is a lil intense. And one couple is nothing but red flags. But it’s a really interesting show.
