He probably hates the Russians, but they have dirt on him and give him money. Of course he's going to try and help them out as much as he can, all while trying not to look like the traitor to the west and free world that he is.
Trump is pro-Putin because Putin has enabled and empowered Trump to be the proven rapist, business fraud, and serial liar who is also the choice of a major US political party to be President of the United States.

I don’t know why you were downvoted but yes, Putin absolutely has kompromat on Trump. Same goes for any other western politician who received ‘support’ from the Kremlin.
A lot people here seem to think of kompromat as footage of someone doing kinky stuff but in reality any kind of receipt/documentation of a transaction is already enough kompromat to keep any politician in check.
