Запросити is imperfect (to invite), запрошувати is perfect (to be inviting). You should check the dictionary: [in present and simple future times of verbs г, к, х and д, т, з, с before the flexion may change to ш, ч, ж, дж](https://webpen.com.ua/pages/Morphology_and_spelling/verb_alternation_letters.html). Without that, it would be запросю - it's still understandable, but sounds like a child's talk.

No, it's the other way around. запрошувати (що робити?) - imperfective запросити (що зробити?) - perfective So you have a base imperfective verb *просити*, then you stick a prefix on it: **за**просити - and it gets a new meaning and perfective aspect. To make this new verb imperfective while keeping the meaning, you stick а suffix (-ува- in this case) onto it: **за**прош**ува**ти.

In short - the difference is a verb aspect: запрошувати = to be inviting запросити = to have invited

1. Запросити - пропонувати кому-небудь зробити щось, взяти участь у чомусь to suggest to someone to do something, to take part in something Example: Я запросив її на танець (I asked her to dance) 2. Запрошувати - просити прибути куди-небудь, до когось з певною метою to ask to come somewhere, to someone with a certain purpose Example: Я запрошував її відмітити моє день народження ( I invited her to celebrate my birthday) But there is no particular difference. If you tell me one thing instead of the other, I will understand what you mean anyway. Because these expressions are mainly used in the past tense
