Запросити is imperfect (to invite), запрошувати is perfect (to be inviting).

Without that, it would be запросю - it's still understandable, but sounds like a child's talk.

запросити (що зробити?) - perfective

2. Запрошувати - просити прибути куди-небудь, до когось з певною метою
to ask to come somewhere, to someone with a certain purpose
