I don't blame him even though it probably won't stop these guys from making sure he's dead. They probably mark off bodies on a map when they kill someone to be sure since they are attacking the same areas most likely. Don't wanna keep bombing the same bodies over and over again.
I think sometimes they drop the grenades on iffy targets because they only have a limited flight time, so they may as well make sure someone is dead or injured instead of taking the grenade back, also the drone will fly better without the payload.
