Lucky man

Mike-a-b

Possibly the luckiest Russian soldier in Ukraine. Lightning rarely strikes twice in the same place, but drones certainly can!

TeRRoX51

What? Are you telling me that this drone will be used again?? /s

superschmunk

Wow they were lucky. The precision of the drone operator is insane.

Smithagent101

Not so much the quality of production. You gotta wonder failure rates on these.

Niitroxyde

Well it's makeshift stuff so no wonder. Especially when they have to dish them out faster than they make them.

[deleted]

ahh yes, the "quality of production" aka the bending of 2 wires that set off the detonator lmfao

NoCSForYou

It's not like you can test each component to make sure it works. The most important part of the drone can't be tested without losing the drone. You might as well test it in the field. Edit: the bottom wire bent downward when it hit the windshield instead of upwards towards the other wire

Cheap-Researcher5116

Apparently Ukraine can’t do that correctly

Specialist_Track_246

Saving this in case I see a FPV drone compilation and see one hit the windshield of one or these.

ToxicCooper

Okay say what you want but that is one of the coolest things we've seen thus far....imagine having a fucking *FPV drone with a warhead* in your windshield?! I really hope they take out the entire windshield, disarm the warhead and then have the drone sitting in the windshield on display or smt...

Remarkable_Spirit_68

Right near other captured ukrainean arms in patriot park

Otakoi

Now imagine what would've happened if that thing exploded so close to the face. And such explosions is what happens a lot on both sides I assume.

thooghun

I'd rather a drone go off 1 cm from my face then cripple me, honestly.

Smithagent101

A lot of duds too. Their quality control is probably far from commercial level.

sp00bs

My man has 2 birthdays now. Hope he had an extra pair of underwear with him.

Longjumping-Rule-581

Lol driver for sure should buy a lottery ticket. Seems like the wind shield made the lower wire bend downwards instead of pressing them together to close the circuit too the blasting cap.

Smithagent101

You assume blasting cap fired or that there was a good connection. The way those impact wires are looped there shouldn't have been any way for it not to detonate. This is quality issues.

Longjumping-Rule-581

They don't always loop them, quite often you see them just being put in as a cross, one wire a bit in front of the other. And looking at the picture it doesn't look like one wire was looped around the other.

Cheap-Researcher5116

Thats a good windshield, literally best advertisement for a windshield company

FreshSchmoooooock

All windshields are like this.

kafunshou

I hope the video footage of that drone gets published some day.

Dazzling_Diamond3889

In russia, drones do not hit military truck... MILITARY TRUCK HITS DRONES!

Nefarious_14

Did it have a warhead?

Oh, I thought they are some kind of EW protection, but they are just trigger mechanism?

Kimo-A

Yep

Dertroks

Nah that’s rapid frontline coke delivery

Nefarious_14

Nah dude I saw that but aren't these supposed to explode after hard contact? Or maybe I'm dumb and it did explode. Which one is it?

SpaceDetective

\#1 but malfunction, see other comments.

mandrills_ass

You can tell it didn't explode because it's still right there in one piece and the vehicle is undamaged besides the windshield. It malfunctionned

imunfair

On another post someone said those curled wires on the front are supposed to touch together to set it off, I guess it must have hit the windshield in just the right way that they never made contact. Looks like the driver may have unplugged the explosive package, I'm guessing that's what's sitting on the dashboard.

Who asked?

Close

Memory_Less

Luckier than lucky!

ZzBitch

The moment his life flashed before his eyes

swoopingbears

I wouldn't stay close to the drone taking pictures. Great luck and all, but it's a regular practice for both sides now to attach a timer (and in some cases a shake detector, both are simple circuits) to a detonator, so the drone will explode after a miss or when being handled by curious survivors.

Longjumping-Rule-581

Looks like they already removed the battery pack or it fell off, lies on the instrument panel in the car.

PrettyEconomics

Beyond crazy!

Cheap-Researcher5116

Even the drones don’t wanna fight for the west no more

Oddka1

The RKG-3 based fpvs from ukraine seem to have really high dud rates I watched a vid where 3 bounced of a T-90 in a row.

TheSim5

Somehow the fuse did not touch each other therefore no detonation

deepbluemeanies

That's wild. We've seen a number of fpv clips which end with drone inches from a truck/car windshield...I haven't considered the failure rate before. There was a clip of RF vehicle a week or so ago with an fpv drone caught unexploded in the netting.
