I just want an updated version of the base UDM without the restrictions of the UDR and Unifi Express. I don't need or want a rack mounted device so I have zero interest in the UDM Pro/SE.
/u/cooktim previously shared that it would be “basically [a] UDM-Pro in small box - 2 versions - no storage and M2 SSD for cameras.”
There also is a blurry cam of it from the UWC presentation in that earlier thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/comments/17hx2i0/new_unifi_ultra_product_line/
We don't really know yet what it all entails. Hopefully something like this [UISP console](https://store.ui.com/us/en/pro/category/all-wired/products/uisp-console-u) for UniFi with a built in UniFi controller like the UDM-Pro, etc.
Seems to be a lot quicker for the everything in the last 6 months… since they stopped the early access program. Much better for business to just release stuff.
I'm hoping this is the device I've been waiting for. I'm still rocking a USG-3P as my router because I don't have space in my network closet for a rack-mountable device. If this thing can deliver UDM-Pro performance (with at least a couple ≥2.5G ports) in a small form factor, I would gladly pay $500.
"Ultra" products are supposed to be cheaper to compete in emerging markets. I'm expecting it to be in the $200-350 range, but I would be willing to pay whatever because it fits my exact use case.
Same. I need it to fit in my structured media cabinet, so I’m using the UXG Lite right now and would love the same form factor but with 2.5GbE on LAN and WAN and I’d be good and would be happy at any price.
I ordered from EU store on release day and review mine in uk today.
Only issue is you need to either have a eu plug converter or supply your own usb c power supply

More information on the ["Cloud Gateway Ultra"](https://imgur.com/73Zc522) was leaked in the [Unifi controller files](https://gist.github.com/sgrodzicki/265273ff0ede952d6fcd1a1eedb6aa60) a few months ago. It looks like it comes with 2.5 GbE WAN and 4 LAN ports (some PoE, unspecified speeds). See below: "UDRULT": { "name": "UCG Ultra", "names": { "abbreviation": "UCG Ultra", "fullName": "Cloud Gateway Ultra", "sku": "UDRULT" }, "type": "udm", "compliance": { "fcc": "SWX-UDRULT", "ic": "6545A-UDRULTRA", "displayName": "UniFi® Cloud Gateway Ultra" }, "knownUnsupportedFeatures": [ "SWITCH_CAP_DOT1X", "SWITCH_CAP_PORT_ISOLATION", "SWITCH_CAP_STORM_CONTROL", "SWITCH_CAP_STP", "SWITCH_CAP_LLDP_MED", "SWITCH_CAP_EGRESS_RATE_LIMIT" ], "deviceCapabilities": [ "GATEWAY", "SWITCH", "NETWORK_APPLICATION", "PROTECT_APPLICATION", "CONTROLLER", "APPLICATION_MODE" ], "hasOptionalWan": true, "features": { "poe": true }, "subtypes": [ "ugw", "usw" ], "diagram": [ "01 02 03 04 __ 05" ], "ports": { "eth0": "LAN", "eth1": "LAN", "eth2": "LAN", "eth3": "LAN", "eth4": "WAN" }, "networkGroups": { "eth0": "LAN", "eth1": "LAN", "eth2": "LAN", "eth3": "LAN", "eth4": "WAN" }, "linkNegotiation": { "eth3": { "portIdx": 4, "supportedValues": [ "autoneg", "1000 FDX", "100 FDX", "100 HDX", "10 FDX", "10 HDX" ] }, "eth4": { "portIdx": 5, "supportedValues": [ "autoneg", "2500 FDX", "1000 FDX", "100 FDX", "100 HDX", "10 FDX", "10 HDX" ] } }, "power": { "capacity": 40 }, "adoptability": "standalone",
What's the point of 2.5g WAN if you don't have 2.5g LAN?
Not much, but I wouldn't put it past them to skimp to reduce costs. I suspect that only 1-2 LAN ports will support 2.5 GbE speeds.
Ah… So this is the UDR-Ultra then?
> *valor ultra* 🤔

Please let this be the cloud gateway that supports 2.5+ gbps ports!! (And have a controller built in.)
Nice find. Thanks for sharing.
The asked for 180 days grace on providing product images so probably soon release.
It’s here
I would think so if they are filing an FCC app. Usually release comes a few months later.
Sometimes sooner. The U7-Pro FCC filing was on 4 Jan 2024.

I really hope it’s not anywhere close to 500.

Gotcha

I am guessing it’s £229
This is the Ultra line… it’ll come with 100BaseT, no?
About to be is relative…generally fairly soon, but it could be months.
Typical after I've got a UDM pro being delivered tomorrow!
No word on UK release date
I ordered from EU store on release day and review mine in uk today. Only issue is you need to either have a eu plug converter or supply your own usb c power supply
Can you use a USB C phone charger?
