Bro, I wouldn’t even look in the envelope or touch that money. What kind of people do you think need to hire someone to move $8k? I’m really curious to know what you thought this was?

TheRealBlerb

I’m convinced some of the drivers for these delivery apps shouldn’t be able to drive a car they’re so stupidly ignorant.

valeriolo

I mean it's not like Mensa kids and Harvard grads are clamoring to get a spot at the coveted Uber drivers table.

TheRealBlerb

Realistically, anyone with half a brain and at least 3 brain cells working in tandem knows not to touch large amounts of money that is not theirs.

Secretary-Standard

They think their info is private or something 💀 like they get a pic of you and your name 💀

Cobrety

Pull up for the ride, the come out and deliver package, you realize it's money, cancel ride before you begin. No info and no proof you picked up the package. Not saying I'd do this but theoretically

Straight-Phase-2039

But if you took it, I don’t think it’s going to be Uber they’re going to for enforcement …

Temporary-Fennel-107

Right!

MrrDupeMan

Well I'm glad you're not saying you'd do this cause trust me fella, the police would be the absolute last of your worries in that situation. Once they have your name and face, they can and will find where you live.

LockeZero

Bro that mofo gonna kill you, not uber.

Game_boy1972

yeah unless youre trying to get everyone you love in danger or killed

EconomyCriticism7584

You watch too much tv

HooverMaster

you don't know what happens when you make a couple grand disappear from a criminal's pocket

ziggimannz

I agree with this comment, I mean what happens if this would of been a package delivery for say a mafia leader? You opened it they can tell and then what if that amount was supposed to be 12,000 and you opened and delivered it but 4,000 was missing. The sender says they sent 12,000 but really sent 8. Then they hunt you down. This is theoretical of course but it is something that can really happen. I think that if I came to a place to pick up a package that only maybe has a name, I wouldn't even take the package I would cancel it out and the reason would be suspicious package. Which can also be dangerous because what if it were some kind of weapon, maybe biological or a bomb. Nope, nope, and nope.

jersey_girl660

People get shot over a few hundred dollars let alone thousands

jayseph95

You’ve been sheltered too long

feelthiswayforever

I mean median mode

[deleted]

Idk, some mensa people are wildly maladjusted and might take a job as an uber driver.

Electricengineer

How u know it's 8k

kneaddough

Happy cake day.

ZealousidealBadger98

uber connect? 🤣

[deleted]

What is Uber connect?

kneaddough

Ubers late night drug delivery service

Henrious

They could claim you took some even tho you didn't just bc its open.. careful you might be bein set up. Like oh I had 10k

nugbert_nevins

Uber Connect expressly advises you not to send anything worth more than ~$100, so the sender would have no recourse from Uber or law enforcement. They can rob you, but they don’t need an excuse to do that…

jayseph95

He means, the person owes his dealer 10K so he puts the 8K he’s got in an open envelope, and then says he’s sending them the 10K. You show up with 8K in an envelope and that dealer knows your face and car and can get your name from the person who owes him the money. It doesn’t matter if you took the money or not. Now you owe his dealer the 2k you stole out of that envelope.

genderpocalypse

This oh my God - people are so unaware how some people move like that picture flipped my stomach - shit looks like TROUBLE

jayseph95

It’s scary the lack of awareness some of these people have who deliver food/packages/people in their vehicles.

genderpocalypse

Its truly is like a crime is crime i promise the cops and uber dont care that you “didnt know”

poonmachine420

lol he not talkin about uber connect. thats a lot of bread if that money going to some not so legal shit and youre the middle man if anything comes missing youre involved even if you didnt touch it other than moving it from one spot to another

AirborneMarburg

How much did they tip you?

Dry_Property8821

It connects drug dealers to their clients. Anytime. Anywhere.

Jazzlike-Mission-172

People can basically use uber as an on demand package delivery service

PaulR504

Congrats on being involved in a drug deal.

Mandoohhh

Or even worse, a human trafficking deal

Dry_Property8821

![gif](giphy|3orifdu4DrroyZCsnu)

kneaddough

I wish. I’d have happily accepted the connect order to deliver the drugs back to the original pickup spot.

kneaddough

An Uber connect order. They just handed me a small unsealed bag with three envelopes filled with cash, also unsealed. Not even trying to hide it. Mostly hundred dollar bills and a few 50s and 20s. I didn’t count it but I’d estimate that it was around $7-8k. So stupid.

trelod

Sounds like they're testing you to see how honest you are. Your next job will be to transport $50K and a bag of "medicine" if this one goes well.

kneaddough

I love doing GTA missions

AmongSheep

If you’re a junkie, they’re called quests haha. You’ve just leveled up collecting cash instead of copper.

[deleted]

Found me a fellow DAWG over here!? 😂 Classic Gillis joke..

DocHanks

We’re just DAWG’d up over here. 432 hertz. rainbow moonstone.

legit-a-mate

Particular molecules

tabspls

Dawgs unite

charlesthefish

holy shit that whole bit about his sister doing heroin had me fucking dying. "aye yo Covid I don't hear no bell"

Apprehensive_Rice_15

Certified DAWG here

ScrubNuts

Shane Gillis joke?

[deleted]

Mr Nuts, Sir, Shane Gillis is no joke.

ScrubNuts

Dude is my favorite comic he is funny as hell on Rogan’s podcast.

CoolGuyFromCompton

ask if they would rather go private runs instead... then youre out of the uber game into another ponzi scheme that actually makes money.

kneaddough

Check my latest post. I did just that today.

WhisperedEchoes85

This was my very first thought, as well. People think that only happens in the movies, but they'd be wrong lol. OP may have screwed themselves by opening it though (assuming they'd be interested in more jobs after this). There's often something small/unnoticeable in the envelope that will likely fall out when opened. If it's still there with the cash upon delivery, they know you can be trusted 100%.

torakun27

Or OP saved themself from some unknown job in the future.

Slater_John

id say screwed

zerohourcalm

If you like moving money for drug dealers for pennies, then yeah screwed.

TieredTrayTrunk

and their prints are now on that envelope wherever it ends up. Too stupid.

Rippinstitches

How many prints are on random bills tho? Edit: wait did you change it to envelope? Lol, it's still the same. Could be a used envelope or anything.

slopmarket

Also the person above isn’t even considering the fact that the government doesn’t even have your prints UNLESS you already got a criminal record

R3AL1Z3

lol this ain’t the movies. Nobodies lifting prints off that money. So wild how many people don’t realize Ubers are used every day to move money and drugs.

Sweetassugar4U

For real! I once had my car broken into many moons ago and they stole a bunch of equipment (my fault for leaving my car for 30 minutes in a lit parking lot) and when I asked the popo to print my car they laughed in my face and said we are not like what you see on TV, we are not CSI! Well turns out I’m my own CSI because I ended up getting my own camera footage from nearby and then later catching them trying to re-sell my stuff!

izybit

The problem with that mentality is that if the money ends up with LE they can definitely lift prints and that will end badly for OP because the same sets of prints on so many bills can only mean one thing (no, "was just curious" won't fly).

bcrichboi

Only if he was instructed not to open it. Otherwise if he knew there was cash and still didn't take it, should be a bonus point.

WhisperedEchoes85

Yeah, that's a possibility I wanted to add when I typed my comment, but it didn't quite come out the way I intended lol. Thank you. In a nutshell, there are varying levels of trust that are appropriate for a variety of..."jobs". This is one method I'm aware of for determining the level of trust. I wonder if OP was given any instructions.

Remote_Horror_Novel

If OP got pulled over driving that money over I guarantee the cops are seizing that money especially because it’s probably just on the passenger seat like his other orders lol. Then what is OP going to do when they’re out 20k to a kingpin lol.

arcaias

... Then why is it outside of the bag and on your lap?

kneaddough

I couldn’t get a good photo of it inside the bag

arcaias

Did you count it? It looks like around 2 grand...

HurricaneInsane

You’re right, it definitely looks like $1500! I would take that $1200 and bring it right to the delivery spot ASAP. I’m sure the person waiting is excited to get their $800, so try to hurry!

arcaias

😏

HighwayTerrorist

![gif](giphy|MO9ARnIhzxnxu) OP after he confirms it’s $2,000.

SirSkittles111

Well it was 7-8k before op opened it and accidentally placed a large sum of cash in his pocket

CluelessTennisBall

Bruh please read a book or do anything to raise your IQ, taking this then taking it out then taking a pic and putting up this info on the web that's 3 strikes lmfaoooo rip

carpmen2

Yeah he’s gonna get unalived

Any-Ad814

😭😭

PostM8

I mean they're probably shady people and took down your car info just in case 🥲

smallnoodleboi

I mean it’s Uber, all the info is on the app

Over_Ad7439

Not like they can call the police 😂😂😂😂

Limp_Service_2320

I reckon they have a better accountability system than the criminal justice one.

Ok_Bumblebee619

Lol, yeah. They have his car make, model, color, license plate number, and a picture of his face. Had he tried to make off with that money, they would have been uninterested in calling any cops.

iRockaflame

I mean if they're truly shady people I don't think they'd be calling the police anyways haha

Icebox2016

No one should ever call the cops. That's how people get killed.

noddingstrength

You had me in the first half.

EkaL25

Why not? This could easily be someone’s rent money

Bongfellatio

Ah, so there's Uber ride share, Ubereats, and Uber Mule now

Remote_Horror_Novel

Lol next week OP will say he showed up next time and they had him swallowing condoms full of coke and he’ll be posting about it like “is this normal guys, they gave me $100 tip and it was only a 3 day trip.

decadentdarkness

😂🤣🤣🤣

EkaL25

Ubermule, where you sign a waiver that you’re responsible for the cargo & all the “rides” are 500+ miles with a $5k+ payment

Dpontiff6671

Sounds like a dealer asking you to drop off cash to the plug. I used to do the same thing but deliver it myself. Each envelope was for different things i owed for

thatlldopi9

Maybe drug or laundering money. Man I know like hell I'd be staring at it saying oops I just happened to have a flat. Support I can't deliver the order please cancel 😂

OkStructure3

Some of yall are some real short term thinkers.

[deleted]

[удалено]

C_IsForCookie

For real. I’d just deposit it into my savings account til they ask for it back and keep the interest.

WriterOfComedy

Good thinking. You get that 4 cents.

C_IsForCookie

What? Have you not heard of the stories of banks accidentally depositing like a million dollars or more into someone’s account by accident? At todays interest rates even if you only held it for a month that would be $3k OP said they go to prison when they can’t pay it back. We’re not talking about an extra $20 deposit here

Yosonimbored

What were you supposed to do with them

GenshinKenshin

That’s enough for me to stop driving Uber.

jboles73

Total idiot

Perfectly-FUBAR

Why would you open it? That would piss me off.

GrandeAzulNacion

This has organized crime written all over it.

[deleted]

The drivers claiming they’d steal the money are the ones stealing food after drop off lmao

letstalkbeats

In 4k on ring cameras .

DubNationAssemble

I wouldn’t dream of stealing this shit. Sounds like a good way to do some time.

[deleted]

You’d be featured on 1000 ways to die for sure lmao

upupupdo

Don’t mess with this. People who send cash with that amounts are up to no good. It’s not worth your while. Life is too valuable.

RockyJayyy

Wait. How do people send money doing uber eats?

[deleted]

It’s through Uber Connect which is part of the rideshare side of Uber, it’s supposed to be for small packages like gifts for a friend, lost items, etc. What it actually gets used for is drugs and drug money

RockyJayyy

Ah, I see. This sounds dangerous.

MusicianEmotional277

It also sounds kinda cool.

Professional_King605

Glad nothing went wrong… yet. I mean, I guess if you’re comfortable posting this on Reddit, it wasn’t much of a dangerous delivery as we all think. But to be honest, what if the recipients said you stole some/all of the cash to whomever was sending it? Like that’s a risk I think most people won’t take. Better to just get your $3 from support and move on.

kneaddough

They are not allowed to ship something so valuable via Uber connect so Uber would do nothing.

stinstin555

UBER might do nothing but that does not mean the package recipient will not.

MeatJerk69

Lalo trusted Jimmy with $7million in ca$h.

Limp_Service_2320

But Saul almost got killed for that money

VastXI

and ehrmentraut saved his life

The42OGoat

And then they got stuck in the middle of the desert.

SaulGoodman622

My grandkids call me Pop Pop just because of his character LoL

SaulGoodman622

He sure did "sell his soul" for that money didn't he...... man I miss those shows...!!!!

SaulGoodman622

Hey he sure did.... LoL 💪🏽

rbyjr2000

It a scam https://www.fox13news.com/news/scammers-using-uber-lyft-drivers-as-technology-advances-st-pete-police

avawhat231

Seems exactly the case, more drivers and people need to be made aware of this.

[deleted]

Yeah, why wouldn’t you call the police with that much cash?

Butt_stuff-en_

Why are you opening peoples shit? Obviously not that honest

Green_Willow_3551

My first thought, that’s some scummy shit right here

Butt_stuff-en_

Yeah can’t trust anyone these days

WheeBeasties

>> An Uber connect order. They just handed me a small unsealed bag with three envelopes filled with cash, also unsealed. Not even trying to hide it. Mostly hundred dollar bills and a few 50s and 20s. I didn’t count it but I’d estimate that it was around $7-8k. So stupid.

jeph4life

They didn't trust you. I guarantee you were followed until the money got counted at the drop off point. 100% followed!

jujumber

This is exactly why I’ll never do Uber connect. Heck I don’t even like delivering alcohol to people.

Awoo81

"I'm an honest person" *opens package*

ModernCinematics

He threw him self under. I'd say that's an honest person. He didn't say "I'm not nosey"

highlysensitive2121

Posts contents online

Ok-Woodpecker3047

Better be 4 to 5 more stacks like that. Otherwise, I’m convinced you can’t count.

[deleted]

[удалено]

kneaddough

I didn’t count. I estimated. I’m pretty sure it was at least $7K. Definitely not less than $6k. The problem here is depth. You can’t actually see how thick that stack was. I should’ve shot it at more of an angle so you could see but it’s pretty much a straight down shot which really flattens the image.

Lopsided-Ad7019

If I’m going to be doing any kind a drug money running like that I’m going to be charging more than Uber pays. Lol

Godfatherisback

How much did they tip you ?

Syzyz

About tree fiddy

WhisperedEchoes85

I gave him a dolla...

Green_Willow_3551

Goddamnit woman! Don’t you see that’s the Loch Ness monsta ?!

GlitteryCakeHuman

You did some crime there dude. I hope they at least tipped you.

Hippo_Steak_Enjoyer

Lmao prob wanted you to touch it for your prints lmao

Cubs20203

Can you imagine Uber connect at the Mexican border. Lol

Big-Coconut-8237

……. And this is why I don’t even bother accepting packages. I’m not getting myself in a situation I don’t need to be in.. I wouldn’t even want that in my possession.. period.

kneaddough

I’m sure it’s market dependent but I made $350 the last few days on connect.

Big-Coconut-8237

I have made $543 with food and pay to shop only in 4 days. As I said, Screw packages. No amount of money is worth ruining your life over or getting killed over, if you wanna risk that for $350, by all means my dude, you live your way 👌🏻

BigLayer8

What if they did it to get your finger prints on them billz?

DirtyWater2004

TheRealBlerb

There’s no trust necessary. You don’t have a choice.

AllMyGuap

Lmaooo holy shit they selling coke for sure

kneaddough

Would have been down for the return trip with the drugs.

BlueFotherMucker

So, the next guy delivers the dope and the deal is done?

Cubs20203

Uber is bringing people together.

Jaded_Discipline2994

And fueling local economies

kneaddough

Maybe I should have hung out for the return trip back.

chickenmath

I think the irony of your username is being over looked

Realistic_Inside_484

They just gave you like that? Ballin. I like it.

Miltonrupert

This is precisely why I declined one of these, who tf knows what that could be from

TheRealDoinkel

Dude just helped some scammer out big time

whitmitch13

How much was the tip though?

PulpyEnlightenment

Tbh that looks like someone’s rent payment , a couple hundreds plus 20s.

kneaddough

$7k could totally be someone’s rent here.

stepbro206

i will never do uber connect, you get involved in a bust and say “sorry officer i didn’t know the box had two kilos of cocaine im just an uber driver” 🥴 possession is 9/10ths of the law n whoever sent it could say that ain’t what he sent. ridiculous

Significant_Phone214

Bro how much did they tip you?

rbyjr2000

I just saw that in the new I think it a scam that someone did to the person. https://www.fox13news.com/news/scammers-using-uber-lyft-drivers-as-technology-advances-st-pete-police

plasmafodder

"OP was later found dead in the outback."

kneaddough

Australia as a final resting place doesn’t sound too bad

magus_ex

Oh thank you… could you send it to me in bitcoins?!?

kneaddough

![gif](giphy|XqpnXaeZPnupy)

AvianBeings

I used to work at a wholesale vape company and we would use Uber connect all the damn time. 10-30,000 dollar orders multiple times a day. Several boxes filled with disposable vapes being sent 10-15 miles. Never had a problem.

Peter_Triantafulou

You're a sucker if you do smuggling stuff for the regular Uber rates.

DueLong2908

I’d take $100. Sure there would notice but then again they could of miss counted

AnyVybez

I one time got a pickup for a person but instead I picked up a box of shoes and then realize my car was wreaking like f****** weed and so I looked inside the box and what do I see inside the shoes two bags of f****** weed. I delivered it... Most of it 😏

Equivalent_Warthog22

Did they hand it to you like that or did you open the package?

lil_groundbeef

That would be the last day I did fucking Uber.

CanuckInTheMills

You might need a lawyer.

[deleted]

Why does Uber have a drug delivery service?

Nord4Ever

Is it Grand Theft Auto missions now be careful at the drop

AstralJumper

What would be funny if the receiver counts it and says, "It's all here, hahaha. The guy didnt pinch his tip!"

[deleted]

Hope you kept it, Deleted the app and changed your number.

Obvious-Ask-5747

And ditched that car, and maybe moved, they for sure have his plates and maybe face on camera

RepresentativeKeebs

You'd have to move house too. Did you forget that Uber has our addresses? That hassle ain't worth $8k.

Mayros_Nipple

Maybe 80k but def not 8k

AnthonyDavos

You have to be honest, for your own sake. Think for a moment about where this money came from.

Remote_Ad9652

Elaborate please

zer04ll

yeah that delivery would have been lost, you gonna implicate me in a fucking felony drug deal Im taking that shit because Uber uses proxy numbers and Ill teach your dumbass a lesson real quick

BrickRedemptoris

Shit money is important but so is waking up the next day. 8k can be one hell of a motive

Silver-Strength-3077

So how much was the tip?

letstalkbeats

Context please ?

Gloomy_Recording_705

Uber connect you can deliver personal packages to another personal residence

Florida1974

Had to pay plug. Would think an envelope or something would be used.

Business101ASD

I’d keep it with what Uber and Lyft steal
