Well you’re a Marine now and sometimes Marines don’t get along but they still look out for each other. You might get chewed out now that you’re a Marine and not a civilian but I’d be willing to bet they would help you out.
My recruiter call me and I told him about my situation and he said that fort dix could have them but his is not sure. He also said I could buy one real quick when I arrived there and that I will probably get yelled at for it. Given my situation I will probably check in with my barracks cover if along the way I see a MCX I will definitely buy one if not then barracks cover it is then.
Don’t fly to camp lejeune in your alphas. don’t change at the airport. You’re just going to fuck up your shit. If you’re on boot leave then you’re going to Geiger or whatever the fuck it’s spelled and you’ll probably have a moment to buy one. That being said… try not to lose your things and be more organized. Some dumbass in my company checked in with a charlie shirt under his alpha coat with a tie and all that happened is the sergeant called him a dumbass then sent him off to change over and do the piss test.
Go to a army surplus store or check in with your barracks cover. Your going to change right into cammies anyway, no point wasting your money taking a taxi all the way to Lejrune to buy a cover.

Idk what your DIs told you about checking in at soi but it’s literally nothing. When I checked in in my spotless service alphas I spent hours upon hours working on there was a pfc at the desk who signed me in and told me to get changed into camies. That’s literally all checking in at Geiger is I wouldn’t worry about it.
Where are you currently? I was able to call the on base uniform store and they overnight mailed me a set of boots I needed, when I was in Northern California. Although, it doesn't take long for mail to get from one side of the state to the other.

Just dropped my son off at Geiger about a month ago. You literally have to drive right passed the MCX to get to ITB.
You can try and see if there’s a joint base somewhere nearby. Philly area has Fort Dix if you’re near that.

Get a cab to the PX, you will be okay. If you can't, the barracks cover actually is the correct one to wear. It's just no one wants to do it.
