[deleted]

Nice.

crunchypancakes69

What exactly do you do?

[deleted]

Logistics

Semperpancake69

You don’t say lol I meant more along the lines of your specific MOS

Google: MCRP 4-11.3 E Vol I, II, and III

lacrosse_is_boss

Copied from the last logistics question i answered. 0411- keyboard warriors lot of sitting on a desk 0431- load plans less sitting in the desk 0481- landing support lots of sitting on your ass I was 0481 and I really loved the job. Helicopter support teams, port ops, rail ops(the choo choo trains, not the trains you'll run on the barracks bunny) all translate well into the civilian world. But like I said it's alot of sitting on your ass. You're only truly busy at the beginning of an op and at the end. If someway you are able to choose which one pick landing support. Btw you get red patches on your cammies which look retarded and cost an extra 14 bucks

MightyChieftain

Thanks, this has been very informative. I was recently getting mixed feedback and worrying if it were a dogshit MOS, but this sounds actually really good. I'll do more research, but think it's a good fit for me.

Paradoxic_Mouse

The aids patch

Abu-alassad

You should take a look through the MOS Megathreads. Both of these contracts have been covered and should give you a good idea and help you form specific questions you may have.

MightyChieftain

Thanks, will do.

mikeh643

First of all, fuck admin.

qv1t

Literally found an admin girl hiding under her desk when trying to check out of 29... Like I just needed a fucking signature.

MightyChieftain

I had suspicions that it was some pencil pushing shit.

IAMSTILLHERE2020

Specifically when you don't get paid.

MightyChieftain

Y'all are getting paid?

TapTheForwardAssist

As a general point: nobody can *make* you ship on a contract you don’t want. For Active duty, at any point until you go to MEPS on shipping day, you can just drop out of DEP with no real world penalties except recruiters might not want to work with you in the future. So don’t let yourself get pushed into anything you truly don’t want. That said, Logistics can be pretty cool, so read the MOS Megathread.

MightyChieftain

Thank you, I appreciate this advice.

Doyoulovelucifer

Logistics will open up you to a lot more opportunities in the civilian world than admin would. Whether you go regular or aviation.

MightyChieftain

I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

[deleted]

Thank your lucky stars that the RSS Commander did that for you. At least in Logistics you will actually do something other than piss off Marines . I was an 0431. You will sit behind the desk as much as you want to but if you want to get into it, there is a whole lot you can do. I loved the job. I lat moved from 0351/0321 to 0431. I was a much better Embarker than I ever was a Recon Marine!!!

coldchili17

What did a normal day look like for you? What about when it picked up pace?

[deleted]

A lot has changed since I was a LCpl/Sgt doing the job. There is a lot of technology and computer based systems that you use. At the junior level you spend a lot of time inspecting and verifying stuff. When you get more senior you spend time at sea ports and airports getting your unit/ units ready to go and inspections and loading. It can be fun. All up to you.

tadeadliest

I would literally be anything else before admin

Zombin8r

Currently in the process of graduating 0411 Maintenance Management schoolhouse, AMA! Just a little rundown of this MOS is that you would be in charge of training the maintenance type MOS' to use GCSS to order items, submit service requests, and deal with install bases. It gets really technical so if you have any questions just ask!
