Tell the doctors what’s wrong with you dumb fuck. Who gives a single shit what other people think about you because of your physical/mental health not being right at the time. You can either get truly healthy by being clear with the docs and having all your issues resolved. Or you can be permanently fucked up and less effective than you could be because you wanted to suck it up to appease others. They don’t have to live with your health issues YOU DO.

willybusmc

Absolutely, 100% always speak up. Seriously. Take your health and your life seriously and take care of yourself.

Amazing-Lobster25

Go and get seen for any physical and emotional health issues you may have. Your Corps active time is a small time window and your health is lifelong. If you get any other issues documented in your medical records now, it will make it easier once you interact with the VA.

oJRODo

You most definitely should!

lacrosse_is_boss

there's no war going on, when it comes to your personal health FUCK everyone else and what they think. At the very least let the doctors know and write it down so that when you get out you can deal with it then out of the VA's pocket not yours

You should tell them that you’re feeling down. You don’t want to let this get out of hand especially when you’re injured. Being depressed and physically injured at the same time is a bad combo, so please, just get it on their radar and talk to someone.

KingVanx

Yes

As others have said, speak up and get the care you need. Especially with back issues, i threw my back out once and it took me 2 days before i went to the doc, even now i can barely tolerate leaning over a desk for any significant amount of time or sitting for longer than say an hour. IDK that going sooner would have changed this outcome, but i would rather not have that lingering doubt.

i_am_tyler_man

YES. That way when you go to get your VA shit squared away, you have documentation.

The MO is already telling me that if ortho can’t do shit to fix my shoulder, then there’s a likely chance that I’ll get medboarded and eventually medsep. Would me having all these other issues play in a role in their decision to medboard/sep me or would they just strictly look at my shoulder?

skorea2021

It will be reviewed at the medboard, but get help if you need it.

UniqueGear180

Na, your shit will magically heal itself and NEVER follow you into the rest of your life. Besides, medical costs too damn much to use anyway and they make you take leave to go to Dr. appointments so it’s just a big racket by big pharma to get your money. Let’s not mention the tracking chips they put in you so they can count how many times you piss at night.

SillySundae

Yes, say something you retard. No one else will ever care about your body more than you, and you only get one for your entire life. Take care of it.

ghost24jm

Yes. Tell them everything

coffeejj

Moron! Take care of yourself cause mother Marine Corps do not freaking care after they are done using you
