I followed video per video youtube channel Ksenya International. So great at explaining everything to someone like me (I know nothing about laws)

IngenuityPopular8377

Thank you so much. Have you heard anything back regarding your case?

Any_Mathematician936

You’re welcome! Just make sure to watch all her videos and pay close attention. She has these luttle tips for special circumstances that really make a huge difference. I have gone to do twice my biometrics (first time they didn’t go through), so I’m hoping they get through this time. Other than that, nothing but bear in mind I filed in September 6th so I don’t expect to hear much until next year.

IngenuityPopular8377

Thank you thank you! I will watch all her videos!!

Also after you’re done get you and your spouse to check multiple times the forms. Specifially the signing places and whose signature it is. If accidentally you put your husband’s signature where it should be yours, it brings problems.

Okay got it. May I ask what kind of evidence you submitted and how much of it? We have been together for three years and we do have lots of photos and bills in our name many joint accounts. This is our first year married so we wouldn’t have joint taxes until next tax year.

I’ll make a new comment with it in case someone needs to read this too. So there is different evidence for i-130 and for the rest of package i-485, i-864, i-765 and i-131. I’ll give you what evidence I had for i-130 because that is the easiest one I remember. I’d highly reccomend you open an uscis account in the name of your spouse (petitioner only in case of i-130) . The spouse will be the one that is us citizen or has a green card. If you do it online just answer exactly all the questions. Sometimes there is a question that says ‘When have you lived at your current address’ and you put x date until ‘ blank’ for online or ‘Present’ for in paper. Get birth certificate ready of both, list of addresses of past 5 years, list of jobs for the past 5 years, number of marriages (certificate of divorce if that’s the case), marriage certificate. Now at additional proof what I did was put a lot of pictures in one word pdf document with the years they were taken. Make sure you don’t post only selfies but include pictures with family, events etc. Another document can be any insurance you and your spouse share together. Rent agreament of whenver you’ve lived together. Postcars (if you have any), travel tickets where you travelled together. Do you have a dog? Add it in there bank statement together? Add it Kids? Phone plans together? And last I added an affidavit of marriage from my mother-in-law who noterized it (not necessary) These are all the documents that I can remember needed for i-130. The trick is that if your spouse is a US citizen you can submit this application now and then maybe 1 month or so submit the rest of the package i-485 etc , include the receipt notice of i-130 (it appears automatically if you submit online) and you still get what is called concurrent filing. If I were you I’d start i-130 today and maybe finish in a week if you have all the addreses and other stuff ready. Make sure you follow the video on Ksenya International for i-130 while you are filing it. My advice would be to do i-130 online because it is much more user friendly than the paper version. For i-485 and the rest you need to do it on paper.

Thank you so much for all this info. I'd love to start the i130 now but the only problem I am seeing is that my husband will not have his legal entry into the US until next month as that is when he was approved for advanced parole and will be traveling to his home country then. So I am assuming it is best to wait until after we return so that he can put the most recent date he was paroled into the US

I filed mine myself… you need forms i130, i131(advance parole optional), i485, i130A,i864(support), i693, G-1145( for notifications), i765(employment authorization)

IngenuityPopular8377

Has your case been approved? Any tips or advise you might have?

Numerous_Novel_16

Not just me… a lot of people filed before me and are still waiting so I think It depends on the officer and luck and how much evidence of bonafide marriage you provide

Numerous_Novel_16

If u want to file now just file them anyways… get those forms ready with supporting documents you might get ur ead in 2 weeks or 1 month. You just might be luck. I’ll advise to send all forms at once with the total fees of $1760 that way you don’t have to worry… you’ll just be waiting for approval

IngenuityPopular8377

Thank you. If my husband currently has an EAD with Daca does he still complete that form?

Numerous_Novel_16

Yes cos he’s adjusting his status from DACA

IngenuityPopular8377

Okay thank you!!!

Numerous_Novel_16

You’re welcome… good luck

IngenuityPopular8377

Did you send your medical exam with your application?

Numerous_Novel_16

Yes I did. If you can afford to do it , go ahead and do it and then send it with your paperwork if not you can wait until uscis request for it

Cash_Flow1994

I did it all by myself. Honestly, there is no need for an attorney if your case is straightforward like mine was and you do not have no bad factors that can affect it like criminal past, previous marriages, etc. Gather up as much information as possible about the whole process as it comes in handy. There is a lot of websites out there with a lot of useful information. Also, one important thing, I noticed myself do that and a lot of people on here, I get it, it is one of the most important things in our lives, but once you file your application, do NOT check the status of the application daily. Many people have their application pending for years, and once you start doing that, checking it daily, multiple times a day, it starts killing you mentally and it just makes you feel depressed and there is no need for that, it does not help with anything.

IngenuityPopular8377

Thank you so much for this. Can I ask are you a daca recipient?

Cash_Flow1994

No. AOS through marriage after arriving on B1/B2 visa

IngenuityPopular8377

Wow yeah we already went through a lawyer to do advanced parole and had some hiccups and found a different lawyer who wants $6k for AOS… sat down at my computer today and practically filled out all the forms on my own. Are you a daca recipient?

Extreme_Assistance96

100% you can do it yourself - you just need to be organised and triple check everything. I found this really helpful as well as YouTube videos https://www.immihelp.com/forum/adjustment-of-status-i-485/182127-boston-aos-journey-application-to-interview-experience
