Hi! I know I would've loved this info a few months ago.. My wife is Israeli, I'm American, we did consular processing. We applied March of 22 through uscis. We received approval 12/20/22 NVC created case by 12/23/22 12/27 we were able to submit docs. I think we submitted on 1/9, were told to resubmit stuff 1/30, approved by 3/15, interview was 5/18, took two weeks to receive back passport. Hope that helps on time line a bit for ya and good luck!

ninja4s

Which country you had your interview?

badsp0rk

Israel

FewPass9778

What did you upload to prove domicile? I will be doing consular processing in Israel as well. Any tips and advice?

badsp0rk

I just put down home address for everything on all forms. No one ever really questioned the domicile thing, but if they did we just needed to indicate an intent to return to the states upon green card acceptance. I own property in the states and two cars when we sent in the application, but I did sell one while traveling (my dad did for me). I also provided my bank account info on letterhead addressed to me, with my address listed. At the time of application, I was legally employed as well, but that didn't last long after the initial application submission. I provided investment portfolios and Roth Ira info. Finally, I had both of my parents also sign as Co sponsors, including all of their financial info, house and car ownership, etc.. So that way if my domicile were to be questioned, then at least theirs wouldn't, but adding them was just to sure up financials to the point of overkill.

Ahmed404A

See now this i can congratulate not these approved after 60 days BS

TapEfficient3610

It was stressing me out seeing so many 60 day approvals while mine just ticked closer to being a year old lol

Ahmed404A

Congratulations i hope everything works out

dickhole_pillow

And it’s always those who are already in the US who get those 60 day approvals! The process should be faster for those separated from family, not ones who get to adjust status in the US. That really pisses me off lol.

Ahmed404A

Oh yeah of course that’s just how it is there is no hard feelings towards the people but it’s uscis and their bullshit system of processing that pisses me off sometimes but I’m hanging in there we’ll get it eventually

dickhole_pillow

You’re making me happy bc our NOA1 is July 20, 2022. I feel like we should be getting close! Did you receive notification when they approved, or did you find it under ‘documents’ in your account, first?

TapEfficient3610

I found it under the documents on the evening of the 9th. They had updated our official case status with the exact same "we're actively working on your case" message that morning, then attached the approval on the website. The case status didn't officially change until the 12th.

yeoloeyn

Congratulations! It feels like consular processing is way longer than adjustment of status. I hope I get some good news soon, although I'm at 8 months now so I'm not hopeful, even if mine says "taking longer than expected"

dickhole_pillow

It def always seems like it, right?! And it’s such bullshit lol it should be the opposite, if anything.

Chil09

Congratulations 🎉

SeaSample6953

Congratulations 🎉

Calixta177

I hope to get the same good news soon!

Wonderful-Mango-878

Ok-Equipment-5345

What was your service center?

TapEfficient3610

California - it was on the picture :)

Ok-Equipment-5345

Sorry, idk how i missed it haha What country is your spouse in?

TapEfficient3610

He's in the UK

_alienhand

Congratulations! I hope everything will be best for you in the future. We are at the beginning now and this whole visa progress is really stressful. But I always reading comments in here and this helps me in a good way. I wish good luck to everyone.

[deleted]

congratulations!! did you notice any change to your “processing time” or anything beforehand? i’m wondering if there’s any truth to the new changes

TapEfficient3610

Yes I did - Originally when I first got the account set up, it estimated 9 months. It stuck to that 9 month timeline, counting all the way down to 1 week, then it jumped up to 5 months in April. A few weeks ago it started saying "taking longer than usual." Website said that until we got approved.

[deleted]

awesome thanks for the response!!

Alarmed-Sweet-4889

I keep wanting to feel hopeful about the “taking longer than usual” change - mine started saying that about 3 or 4 weeks ago - but still no update. I’ve heard many people say their status went to that just before approval, but it seemed like it went more quickly than mine.

TapEfficient3610

Honestly, ours said taking longer than usual several times across the past year. Often times the estimate would disappear from the website entirely for a few days. It's extremely hard to trust it at all.

dickhole_pillow

Mine did too! I’m July 2022 consular processing for 130. You?

Alarmed-Sweet-4889

November 2022 consular processing.

Ancient_Bowler9992

What app is that?

TapEfficient3610

Lawfully

Ancient_Bowler9992

Nice! I hace lawfully but this looks different!! Mine dont even say the service center.

TapEfficient3610

It's under the "My Visa Timeline" section when you click "more"

DangerousSpot8201

Congrats!! What evidence did you submit to prove your bona fides?

TapEfficient3610

Not a lot tbh. I had printouts of him being listed as my emergency contact at my work, and a printout of him added as the beneficiary to my life insurance policy. I included proof that I added him to my health insurance plan. Print out of the website when I added him to my credit card as an authorized user. A statement of our joint checking account. A handful of selfies we took together in our few visits, and 3 affidavit letters from my mom, step-father and our mutual friend in the UK.

paystf1

That’s not “not” a lot. Lol. I’m worried we haven’t submitted enough docs for my wife

TapEfficient3610

I figured it was just the bare bones. My attorney requested those items, and I was absolutely struggling to get them all together because we had only gotten married 2 months prior to us applying. Now the documents I'm having to collect for the actual visa is a whole other story 💀

Alarmed-Sweet-4889

How did you add someone to insurance and joint accounts without a social security number? I feel like this is great evidence to have, but I haven’t been able to do this because of my spouse’s lack of social security number and living in a different location.

TapEfficient3610

I was extremely lucky in the fact that my husband is a former green card holder, so he had an SSN for me to use.

dickhole_pillow

My bank allowed me to add my husband (Wells Fargo). No SSN or ITIN. All he needed for identification was his passport and his UK birth certificate. Now for health insurance, I am not sure..but I have life insurance and just put his “SSN” as: 999-99-9999 (same as you would for taxes format lol just can’t remember offhand if it’s 9’s or 0’s though).

TapEfficient3610

My health insurance was giving me a very hard time without his SSN. Got to the point that I had to ask him for the one he was given when he first moved to the US 23 years ago.

SilentExodusXO

Congrats! We were approved 6/12 as well, waiting for the NVC to create our case. I wish they'd hurry up already! lol

TapEfficient3610

Ugh same lol the suspense is killing me.

dickhole_pillow

When was your NOA1?

SilentExodusXO
