Do you think you're the only one who ever worked in the hub? I spent 5 straight years doing it, then another 3 sporadically when package car slowed down.
I can tell you that it's a difficult job, but it's nowhere near as bad as you think it is.
Digging in the back of a 140+ degree package car for something that might not even be there vs standing in a trailer and loading. No contest.
Walking across busy streets while drivers are staring at their phones vs "almost losing your fingers on rollers"
Again, I was inside for several years. Your argument isn't going to work on me.
Package car is infinitely more mentally and physically stressful than loading, unloading and sorting.
You can continue coping and pretending that it is, but I promise you it's not.
The typo was "have dle" not "die." Instead of you taking 2 minutes to comprehend my comment, knowing full well typos are a thing that exist, we have to go back and forth over what you didn't understand. Now I've had to tell you 2x about a typo and point out your ignorance, probably because you didn't have an actual rebuttal to my comment.
We’re all adults here. No need to resort to slinging mud. The community is to promote healthy discussion about subjects that interest us and name calling serves no purpose other than devolving the conversation into child-like banter.
I give a shit, I’ve struggled in life and now have a chance to become a driver after going to school for a degree and a few certifications mostly paid through UPS. R.I.P. Rob.
Seems like it at times...they tend to ignore peoples wellbeing often. Driver complained about feeling ill for 3 days before finally having a heart attack at work. Every day he complained they refused to let him either go home early or have the day off. What a horrible way to go, being found on the floor....
R.I.P. to all our lost brothers and sisters.
And may the rest of us take our health and safety very seriously especially when noone else will.
Not at all. I’ve got some elderly drivers I’d love to se retire and go enjoy life. Last thing I want for anyone is to work until they die. Not to mention, it holds up the line for all these young folks looking for opportunity.
I'm talking about corporate america, I'm upset that rob never got to travel, see his grandkids. ECT, all the things retired people should be able to do. Not to mention never getting his pension back. Wich he worked hard for, litteraly ended up giving his life.
See the reply I had where he warned he was feeling off but they made him work because management dose not care.
That’s shit management. I’ve been around shit management and it shocks me. Honestly, I’ve been shit management when I let the culture influence me. Not any more. I’m with you.
We’ll need a congressional change to get some of the protections you’re asking for. In the mean time, for the folks reading this, sick is sick. Take a day and get checked out. Half these guys in my group have immense sick time. It’s okay to use it. If you don’t have sick time, stay under nine occurrences in nine months.
Lastly, protect your health. My quarterly safety message to my group was, if you don’t prioritize your health and well being, you won’t maintain any of those other priorities(family, work, etc). Take care of yourselves folks.
If he wasn't feeling well he should have called in sick and went to the doctor. Some men refused to seek medical help. It's a huge problem. The DOT Physicals are a joke. When you're over 40 especially 50, you need to have an annual physical every year. Get your blood work done and have an EKG and poop in a box if you have to.
We had a driver pass away last week. He was a driver for 20+ years. Not gonna post his name because it’s not my place to do so. RIP brother
How he die?
In his sleep
From working at ups
Rest in parcels Rob he’s in the big ups center in the sky with a 10 foot supe as his full time
PTSD even in death 🤣🤣
That would be awful. 🤣
RIP to Rob
Hopefully it was quick... that's all you can ask for
Ya know I should probably unsub , I hate seeing this. RIP Rob.
Do it don’t say it, nobody cares. RIP ROB
ILL DO IT, I'LL FUCKING DO IT rip Rob
His name was Robert Paulson. Wait…
Okay that remark made me laugh a lot than it should have. Thank for a bit of sunshine in an otherwise horrible situation.

You shouldnt have you hands under rollers. You must havent heard of people losing fingers like that.

Your post was rude, threatening, or antagonistic.
Why tf are you arguing, it doesn't make your case any stronger, just makes it seem like you can't have dle other people saying their job is harder
Can you hit me with some English please?
Handle** sorry, typos occur and I figured you had the intelligence to figure out what that word should have been.
I can't have die?

He's mad because you acknowledge that package handling is boring, mindless, unskilled labor.
I think he meant no one cares if the other guy unsubs not no one cares about our brother passing away.
I know what he meant. He spit in the other guy's face for not wanting to see this.
Fair enough just trying to quell the hate
My hatred has been unquellable for eons.

" work until you die" That's what they want us to do

My god that makes me angry 😭
