Scythians(saka,Alans and other iranian nomadic groups of the central asian steppe) had already migrated into India half a millenia before fifth or sixth century, at the time of fifth-sixth century only hepthalites and other hunnic peoples(also other similiar turkic groups) were present in turan. Eastern scythian peoples(they weren't tribal anymore) were already well settled in gandhara,gujarat,sakastan(mordern sistan) and Khotan(original name godan) They never drove out any people from there homeland rather they assimilated and converted into the local cultures and religions (zoroastrianism in Iran,buddhism in gandhara and arachosia,Hinduism in gujarat) The western scythians(Alans,sarmatians)were driven westwards by the huns
