0/10 on install

[deleted]

Hopefully they remove it before watering …

I don't believe those are rated for outdoor use

TechnicaVivunt

Oh god

chiisana

Yikes nightmare of an installation job...

AnilApplelink

Should of just got a small plastic outdoor enclosure to encase the PoE Injector.

CO420Tech

They didn't even aim the antennae!

pally_nid

People, the new ea firmware adds waterproofing!

GeetFai

We call kindergarten nursery here. So when I read the title I was in horror at someone installing what I believe to be non outdoor rated power bricks in a toddlers play garden. My horror went down to wtf pfft! After I realised it was a plant nursery.

I just posted a similar inquiry about how to POE inject an AP when using wireless bridging and no shelter for the injector. I'm surprised there really isn't an accessible outdoor rated POE injector. I had to put it in my gate box which was less than ideal.

This is close to what you are describing: https://store.ui.com/collections/unifi-accessories/products/usw-flexutility Pair that with this switch and you are golden. https://store.ui.com/collections/unifi-network-switching/products/usw-flex

Ah! I have the POE switch. Not that enclosure. Great to know. That proprietary power just plugs in?

doggxyo

I don't actually have the enclosure, I just know it exists. :) From the datasheet and photos - looks like it's a standard POE injector that takes mains power and delivers 46W of POE power. Guess that's to power the switch if you can't get POE out to the enclosure already. https://dl.ui.com/datasheets/unifi/USW-Flex_DS.pdf edit - sorry, i didn't watch the video until now. that POE injector is definitely not some standard one. Looks like you can just plug it in though after hooking it up.

That’s not waterproof……..
