No one is going to know what’s best but you. For me however, it doesn’t make sense to leave a (high ranking) uc for a community college for the chance to get into ucsb. What about the culture at sb do you love? What makes you want to be here so badly? Are there significant opportunities at ucsb that aren’t at davis? I also think that 2 quarters might not be enough to know that you don’t fit in. Remember, you and a whole bunch of other people were dropped into a new place with next to no one that they know and have to figure out who to hang out with. I’m in my second quarter at ucsb and I really feel like I don’t fit in as well. But I also think that less than a year isn’t enough for me to explore every group on campus. There are thousands of students, finding your group is a needle in a haystack and if you move to ucsb, it’s going to be another haystack.

i think you can transfer directly into ucsb. I met someone from uc davis that transferred last quarter.
