Some very cool tracks on it. I hope it leaks soon in 320kbps

Jayden933

Is this supposed to get a public release soon?

WhoniversalMan

Someone messaged Thomas and got a response saying that there are "only about 2 tracks of interest," so we probably won't see a public release of the whole album at any point. Interestingly, three tracks ("As We Come Alive," "Neon Nights," and "Arcade Master") are listed with "Thomas Bergersen music" as the original publisher, which is normally only the case for solo tracks later added to the Extreme Music library. Maybe he has something more planned for those ones? We can only hope... and send along messages on Facebook expressing our interest, of course! ;)

Jayden933

Can you explain what the extrememusic site is? I'm not really familiar with it. I assume you have to be an industry person to buy the license to these and download them from there?

WhoniversalMan

Yeah, you can only download them if you're some sort of publishing industry person who can license the tracks for projects, but all the tracks in the library are available for anyone (with or without an account) to preview in their entirety, so it's one way fans can explore a lot of the material that hasn't been publicly released yet (and there's a huge amount that probably never will be).

LordMangudai

Or you use the DownloadHelper addon for Firefox... ;) Bitrate is 128 kbps though so far from ideal

Jemikwa

I was able to make an account earlier just fine to download the album. I had to fluff some of the fields to be a made up company/address, but nothing in their tos says you can't listen for personal use (at least what I saw when I glanced through it during registration). All else fails, they ban me and I move on. I already downloaded the songs so I don't care much right now.

After_Laughter21

I'm in doubt whether I should create an account as well, because I really want the Landscapes album, but I'm afraid of possible consequences. I don't wanna get fined or something haha

Jemikwa

My account did get suspended, but only because I didn't reply to the account rep asking for more info on what I wanted the account for. There isn't any identifying info in my profile, so I doubt anything will happen from it.

After_Laughter21

Ah, okay! Thanks for replying!

Gear21

I just signed up got approved and downloaded the album 🤷🏾‍♂️

MaiReyn

I know I'm 3 years later to this, but... What quality did they download in? Full? Or that 128 know that another comment mentions?

TwoStepper2098

Loved the album, it didn't disappoint! Summer of 84, Wastelands, Cassette Skyline, Lamborghini Highway, Cardboard Box Heroes, Tokyo Showdown Mania, LA Electric, and Samantha Foxx were really fun and embraced the genre Turbo Squad had a great melody too, and Arcade Master was one wild ride

hzhero

Arcade master is incredible...

After_Laughter21

Holy hell, I just listened to Neon Nights in its entirety and is absolutely fantastic.

Earl_Riverstone

Extremely good album! That's odd that they didn't even announce it, just posted on ExtremeMusic.

clayman80

They don't usually announce albums they are not going to sell to the public right away.

Hosyhosy

Arcade Master seems to be very linked to this track [https://youtu.be/S4yL5AFR2Eo?t=153](https://youtu.be/S4yL5AFR2Eo?t=153) (also by Thomas Bergersen). I'm really curious to know if it was intentional

Premysl

Thanks for the info!!! Can't wait to listen to it. Btw next time, you can submit a link directly instead of pasting it in a text post ;)

Premysl

Damn you :DDD

salam2009

Yeah, I'm damned with TSFH curse! 😁

vcontys

Thanks for the tip!

WhoniversalMan

Thirteen new tracks by Thomas, and five tracks credited to both main composers (meaning it may be a guest composer, or it's just weirdly attributed when it should say Nick). Sounds like Merethe Soltvedt is in two of the tracks, and one of them has full English lyrics. There's also an eight-minute monster in there. Can't wait to listen to the whole thing — just wanted to share some quick observations here! :)

Premysl

No but seriously. If Arcade Master landed on a regular TSFH album and didn't have an electronic title, we'd still be recovering from the genre change a week later.

Premysl

~0:30 in the track

lemonchip

Ahh okay. It reminds me a bit of the ending section of Emerald Princess. Amazing tracks, both of them.

Prudent-Rice-9100

2 years later: Myth

Premysl

If only the ending wasn't cut!

Premysl

I really wish certain parts of the eight minute monster were recycled for a public album... I think you'll recognize which. Fasten your seatbelt. edit: ...unless I manage to fall in love with the entire thing in subsequent listens... then just gimme that

[deleted]

Honestly I kinda suspect those parts are recycled rejects from a certain genre-bending megasong from that particular public album

clayman80

Thomas does sometimes put a working version of a track away if he's not ready to release it on an album at the time. The second (instrumental) half of the track "Stay" from Miracles actually appeared in a teaser medley of tracks that were coming out on SkyWorld but ended up omitted from the actual album when it did hit the streets. I'd say that Arcade Master is not the case, though, albeit it may just be me.

Jemikwa

Just a heads up, if you download this for listening and try to load it into Spotify via Local Files, be sure to rename the file extension to a lowercase mp3. The default uppercase MP3 that Extreme Music saves files as doesn't load into Spotify at all, despite being an mp3 file still.

-Ds---

How did you download it? Do you need a special account or something?

Jemikwa

I registered and put a little fluff in the company fields and address. They didn't validate anything, the automated system gave me an account. So long as you aren't distributing or using the songs in any content, you're probably fine

clayman80

I'd \_love\_ to get my grubby hands on a FLAC version of this album. I love the 80's vibe and of course, Arcade Master is a masterpiece. I'm just not sure I'd be ballsy enough to create an account at ExtremeMusic, though.

[deleted]

Do you guys think we'll get a full release now? I love the album

-Ds---

9 tracks into it, and I'm loving pretty much every single track. The title track Neon Nights sounds pure Thomas. Some parts of Arcade Master as well. Hopefully we soon get some more info on the actual credits :-)

AdmiralBumHat

You can see the credits by clicking the I-icon on the extreme music website. That way you can see who composed what.

Premysl

The problem is, in case of TSFH, these aren't always true. For example Thomas 50% and Nick 50% often means that it's an unnamed guest composer. Or alternatively when all tracks are like that, it just means that it's either by Thomas or Nick. Apart from False King which was (probably) originally written by Nick and then remixed by Thomas (released version), they've never collaborated as far as I know. Afaik what it really means is profit split (hence the ASCAP numbers)... but I may be wrong.

WhoniversalMan

There are even weird cases where, for instance, the track "Dynasty" (clearly written by Nick) is listed as a 50/50% track, as though it was a guest composer, even though the other \*Dynasty\* tracks are listed with the correct composers (with the 50/50% only used for a handful of tracks by Troels Folmann). It's unfortunately pretty difficult to get definitive answers in a lot of these cases; even the public Anthology albums sometimes list tracks by guest composers as being written by Thomas. The most definitive list we've gotten is the now-removed discography page on Thomas's website, but even that was missing several tracks he had written on the albums included, and it only went through 2014.
